Philips Salon Dry Compact 1000W HP8100 Review

By Yogita Mor

Hey Girls,

Today, I will be reviewing Philips hair dryer which I have been using for a very long time. Actually, I am kind of nervous because this is my first review ever, and if I make any mistake, then please tries to ignore that.  So, talking about hair dryer, we all know that using hair dryers during winter season makes hair more drier.  I have very thick hair which takes a long time to dry up and that is why I bought a hair dryer.  After a lot of thinking, I managed to buy a hair dryer on my own and that is why I could not afford the expensive one. I know I am talking too much, but can’t help it, I am very excited about it, so let’s start.

My Experience with Philips Salon Dry Compact 1000W HP8100:

We all know that Philips is a very popular and trustworthy brand used by lots of people all over the world. So, after seeing it, I just grabbed it without any second thought.  When I first used it, I could not understand how to blow dry because I have never used an hair dryer before, though the instruction manual was provided along, but I was looking for a proper and easy way. After struggling a lot, I asked help from one of my friend about this and also searched about on the internet. The second time around, I used it with a round brush. The result was shocking because I couldn’t imagine that this little thing can work wonders, but yes, you can also use it without round brush and that will take less time as compared to using round brush.

It has two flexible settings for careful drying. It also contains a narrow concentrator for focused air flow which is very helpful while using with the round brush.

It has a storage hook and this consumes 1000W power.  One special feature of this hair dryer is that it switches off automatically when it gets overheated. So, it is safe to use and you can get any hairstyle in vogue.

It’s so little and cute.  Its color is very cool which is light blue with the little touch of royal blue.  The only thing I don’t like about this dryer is that it is a little slow. It takes 20 to 30 minutes to dry my hair properly (may be due to 1000W), but after using it twice or thrice a week, I find a way to dry my hair within 10 to 15 minutes.

Pros of Philips Salon Dry Compact 1000W HP8100:

  • Reasonably priced hair dryer.
  • Contains narrow concentrator.
  • Two flexible settings.
  • Very handy, good for traveling purpose.
  • Easy storage hook.
  • 2 years warranty.
  • 1000W power.

Cons of Philips Salon Dry Compact 1000W HP8100:

  • Works slowly.
  • If you bring it too closer to you hair accidentally, then it gets hold of your hair.

IMBB Rating:

4/5 (just because it is slow, otherwise it worth the price).

Do I Recommend Philips Salon Dry Compact 1000W HP8100?

Yes, this is very useful for those who are looking for a cheap hair dryer. It does its work very well and you can use it on a daily basis, especially for college girls, it’s the best deal ;)

I have it and I love it. For me, its slow speed with regular heat is perfect bcz it does not damage my hair like those pro hair dryers which cannot be used on daily basis. This is my must have for winters. :P

That its giving good salon drying effect as it claims… Thanks for the review :)… Btw… Yogita i just love your name.. We had a family friend, who has the same name.. She is like a big sister to me.. But we lost their contact since they got transferred to someother place :( :(… When i saw your name… Its reminding me of so many beautiful childhood memories that i shared with her :) :)…
