Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser Review

Hello all,

I had always wondered why Pixi does not venture into skin care products given how much their Glow Tonic is loved. Well, they finally did! And I picked up quite a few products from their “Skintreats” range. Today, I am reviewing the Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser for you. Read on to find out if the product is worth buying or not.

Product Description:
This active yet gentle cleanser with 5% glycolic acid exfoliates to reveal a glowing, healthier-looking skin tone. Mud deep cleans and detoxifies pores while hyaluronic acid, aloe vera, and avocado oil plump and nourish the skin. Leaves complexion feeling smooth and purified.

How To Use:
Use AM and PM.  Apply a coin size amount to damp skin. Massage gently for 30 seconds, avoiding eye area. Rinse clean & pat dry. For best results, follow with Glow Tonic.  We recommend using SPF in the daytime, especially when using a product with glycolic acid.

My Experience with Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser:

Packaging: The mud cleanser comes in a sturdy tube packaging in the typical light green color which we all associate with Pixi products. The tube has a flip top cap. The tube is opaque and there is no way to know how much of the product is left inside. The packaging is pretty standard and there is nothing too special about it.

Texture/Performance:  The cleanser has a clay-like consistency. I was expecting it to be slightly gritty because it is also an exfoliant, but surprisingly, the texture is quite soft to touch. As you rub it on to damp skin, it starts to emulsify and there is some lather, but it does not lather too much and rinses off quite easily with water.
Packaging

The cleanser does a thorough job at cleaning the skin and leaves my face visibly cleaner and brighter. I have combination skin – my T-zone is oily and my cheeks are normal to dry. I love that this cleanser leaves my face shine-free, but at the same time. does not strip away any essential moisture. I do not experience any dry or taut feeling after using this. On the contrary, my skin feels soft and smooth.

One point of caution is that this cleanser contains glycolic acid and hence it is recommended to use a SPF when you are using this product. Also, I personally do not like to overuse products containing glycolic acid and hence use it only on days when I feel that my face needs an extra deep cleansing.

But overall, I am pretty impressed with the performance of this cleanser.

Pros of Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser:

  • Cleans thoroughly and leaves you with visibly brighter skin.
  • Does not strip essential moisture.
  • Gently exfoliates the skin.
  • Sturdy packaging.

Cons of Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser:

  • Slightly expensive when compared to drugstore brands.
  • SPF needs to be used as it contains glycolic acid.

IMBB Rating:
4/5

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser?
Yes, I would surely recommend you to try this product if you are on the lookout for a cleanser with glycolic acid. I will repurchase if I finish this tube.
