Pond’s has always been a popular name for creams and moisturizers. They have specific creams for different skin types. One such cream is their “Dry Skin Cream Facial Moisturizer.”

My Take on Pond’s Dry Skin Cream:

This cream comes in a plastic jar.  The cream is thick in consistency, with the same fragrance that all Pond’s creams have.  My skin type is combination to oily, but when I apply Pond’s dry skin cream, I feel as though I have applied tonnes of oil all over my face. It does give a soft effect after a while, but does not justify its claim.  I once tried it under makeup just to see if that works, but the result was disastrous. Each part of my face was reflecting the powder I had applied on it.

I thought this will moisturize and keep the skin soft and radiant as it claims, but it doesn’t do anything and makes face oilier, maybe it will suit super dry skin.

Pros of Pond’s Dry Skin Cream:

  • Smells good.  Apart from this, I don’t find any other pro in this product.  I really don’t like the oily feeling it leaves after application.

Ponds dry skin cream 5

Cons of Pond’s Dry Skin Cream:

  • Does clog pores.
  • Doesn’t moisturize or smoothen skin.
  • Makes face oily.
  • Breaks out skin when applied under makeup.
  • Have to use hands every time.
  • Jar is not travel friendly.
  • Contain parabens and alcohol.

IMBB Rating:

1/5.

I did not expect this from Ponds. They have so many products that have worked for me for a long period and back in India, I have used many creams from Ponds which always work, maybe I have picked a wrong product. I will not suggest this to anyone who has mixed skin type. May be people who have super dry skin can give it a try. I am not going to get it again.

  1. pond’s has never worked for me yaa *cry* i think this is similar to the pond’s cold cream available in India… *haan ji* *haan ji* makes skin very oily and greasy *headbang*

  2. this reminds me of my school days.. the original ponds. If you ask me to use it today, I’d never use it. loll!! I guess things have changed now. people are more educated and aware about what they like to use. it’s high time pond’s also starts making changes in their products. thanks for the heads up divya 🙂

  3. I have used it too and found it too rich & heavy for me. My skin looked like an oil mine after applying it. If you have slightly dry skin, apply coconut milk as it nourishes the skin without appearing too greasy. Then wash it off with plain water. Your skin will stay soft, smooth, young, moisturized and glowing.
