Potato & Fuller’s Earth Face Mask: DIY

Hi everyone!!!

All of us want a flawless, glowing skin so that we can rock sans makeup, right??? Well, I guess we need not spend exorbitantly for that as I recently came across the goodness of potatoes for the skin. They nourish and moisturize the skin and also work as an anti-aging treatment, skin brightener, skin rejuvenator. Potatoes are believed to be loaded with Vitamin-C, B-complex, and minerals that help in imparting a youthful complexion. Having said that let us move on to the face pack that I made to pamper my skin.

You would need the following things:

• A medium sized potato
• Rose water
• Fuller’s earth ( Multani mitti)

Procedure-

Step 1: Wash the potato properly and dice it into small pieces along with its skin (The potato skin is known to have a lot of goodness).

Step 2: Grind it into a paste; it would be of a light brown colour. ( Not very yummy-looking I tell you).

Step 3: Add 3-4 teaspoons of Fuller’s earth(multani mitti ) and mix it well. Add rose water to get the right consistency if needed. ( The multani mitti is just a binding agent but it has its own goodness especially for oily skinned beauties)

Step 4: Apply this mixture on the face and let it dry for around fifteen to twenty minutes.

Voila! You just had a parlor-like treatment. It would be good enough if you can spare time for this pack every Sunday. I got a squeaky clean feel after using this particular face pack.

Things to be kept in mind:

1. Store the remaining face pack in an airtight container and refrigerate because it tends to get oxidized and turns brown in colour.
2. Make sure you are not allergic to any of the above ingredients used.

This is my very first DIY and I hope you found it useful.

I have dry skin so fuller’s earth does not suit my skin but I remember one of my friend used to rub potato on her face . Sounds really good! :)
