Red Wine For Skin Care: DIY

Use of Red Wine for Skin Care

Hi beauties,
I have wanting to share some tricks I recently discovered. Thanks to the red wine bottle raised in on my birthday recently 😛 We all know how wine is made, it is basically grapes/or any other fruits which are fermented for days and then crushed to procure its juice. Wine is rich of anti oxidants which fights free radicals in the body, thus, it is anti ageing. In India, Sula wines, plum wines (made in Maharashtra) are the most easily available and are very famous abroad also. They are also relatively inexpensive when compared to its imported counter parts.

Wine is rich in antioxidants and contains valuable vitamins and trace elements, which rejuvenate the skin. Grape wine contains polyphenols, a powerful antioxidant. It speeds up the cell renewal process, thereby protecting the youthful quality of the skin. Wine facials and masks brighten the skin by removing dead cells and stimulating circulation on the skin surface. They moisturize the skin, making it glow. The tips I have mentioned on red wine for skin care are mostly topical except for the last one, where I recommend consuming a little wine. *wink*

A. Red Wine face mask:

Take honey and yoghurt and add a few tablespoons of rose wine to the mixture. Apply this on your face, leaving it on for 20 minutes, before rinsing it off. For oily skin, mix rose wine and green tea with Fuller’s Earth (multani mitti) into a paste. Apply this on the face, avoiding the lips and the area around the eyes. Wash it off after it dries. For dry skin, add red wine to aloe-vera gel and dried milk powder. Apply this on the face and wash it off after 20 minutes. Use cold filtered water to wash off.
It gives such a nice glow and it remains for days.

Rose wine is relatively milder and thin. Whereas red wine is dark maroon in color and has a strong smell.

B. Red Wine as a toner:

Mix rose water (4 teaspoon) along with 2 tablespoon of red wine vinegar. Mix well in a distilled bottle and refrigerate. Use within one week. I usually dab some on a clean cotton ball and wipe my face of all the grime and dirt. I use plain cold water to wash my face after that.

C. Wine ice cubes:

So we all rub ice cubes on our faces after a tiring day, combat skin eruptions and as a make-up primer. I love freezing some wine cubes to makes it cooler. It so invigorating and refreshing. Skin is shining along with the anti-ageing benefits of the wine.

D. Wine directly on face:

Just dip a cotton ball in some red wine and apply on face minus the eye area. Relax for twenty minutes and wash off. Be careful of the wine going into your eyes. It burns like hell *silence*

E. Drink some wine:

For those of who indulge in some alcohol, I suggest drink some wine and keep those wrinkles at bay. Do remember not to overdo it, as excess consumption may cause harmful effects.

I suggest Sula wines in India, Jacob’s Creek and Yellow Tail are also some great buys (these inputs are given by my father as I am myself a teetotaler. All the above uses are based in rose wine. White wine is usually not used while preparing face packs or facials in the parlors.
Hope you all enjoy reading this.

Love to all.
