Remington Smooth and Silky Epilator EP6020/EP6030 Review

Hi ladies,

You might have read about my epilator love in my Philips epilator review. It was my first epilator and it went way beyond my expectations. I highly recommend to never go for waxing if you epilate every ten days. This one was a gift from someone in the family since they knew how crazy I was going for epilators now. This Smooth and Silky one is such a pretty girly one by Remington.

Product Description:
This curvaceous and stunning fresh aqua and white model boasts a whole host of superior technologies making it the perfect tool for achieving irresistibly touchable skin that lasts up to four weeks.  The patented Skin Glide system gently stretches the skin, opening pores so the hair follicle is more prominent, allowing removal from the root quickly & comfortably. Hair guides channel fine and short hairs into the 3-disc tweezer system, plucking more hairs in one go for faster results. Hairs that grow back are softer, thinner and less noticeable.

My Experience with Remington Smooth and Silky Epilator EP6020/EP6030:

I chose this as my gift simply because of its looks and the massage fingers. As you glide the epilator, the massage tips actually run against your skin. I honestly couldn’t really feel anything, but yes, I am very sure it has reduced the irritation to the skin. It may not be drastic or something soothing like the ice pack from Braun, but still, isn’t something better than nothing?

The epilator is very pretty and feminine, it feels very light too. The Philips one feels heavy and sturdy to be honest but this one is a little plastic kind and fragile, but that does not mean it should work differently. Another huge difference when comparing this Remington with the Philips one is that it has these rollers in between the tweezers. This also pampers your skin while the epilator process is on. So, instead of all metal, this is a mix of soft rubber and tweezers.

It is corded, which means it needs to stay away from water when on. This epilator has two speed settings for fine and hard hair. It works fine but I notice that I need to go back on the same skin stretch more often than the Philips one. It could be something to do with the number of tweezers of the angle. In order for the massage fingers to touch my skin, I need to keep it erect or else it won’t really touch my skin as I glide through. Somehow, I feel the need to go over the same area twice or more. It could also be that I need to go in circular motion with this epilator like they have mentioned.

It also comes with a glove to exfoliate which works fine for gentle exfoliation, you could use it once a week for ingrown hair issue. The beauty bag is also helpful to store everything in place. The cord is also pretty long so should not be an issue for us. The shaving foil head also works fine like most shaving units. The book has detailed instructions about the epilator. The head of the epilator and the tweezer part can be clicked out of the unit, washed, and dried separately too.

Pros of Remington Smooth and Silky Epilator EP6020/EP6030:

  • Very pretty to own.
  • Two speed settings.
  • Shaving head, washable head.
  • Gentle on skin with rubber massage fingers and rollers.
  • Very curvy to hold and fit the skin as you glide.

Cons of Remington Smooth and Silky Epilator EP6020/EP6030:

  • Corded, not to be used in the bath.
  • I find it fragile and not that sturdy.
  • Sometimes it squeaks while rolling.
  • The massage fingers touch the skin only when it is absolutely perpendicular to the skin.
  • Go in circular motion or else you will need to go over the same area more than once.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Remington Smooth and Silky Epilator EP6020/EP6030?
I will recommend it to beginners, but since I am fan of the Philips one since it is wet and dry and sturdier, I will recommend spending more on that over this one. This seems fine for finer hair, for coarse hair, Philips will do the job.
