Ask IMBB Gang How to Remove Waterproof Eye Makeup : Ask IMBB
Amel asks:

I had never applied pencil eyeliner on my lower lashes, but did it this weekend to give it a try. While applying it and after removing it many of my lower lashes fell leaving gaps in between and also it is so difficult to remove the eyeliner from the lower lashes even with a makeup remover and a Q-tip! kindly tell me how you do it and even remove it. (p.s- i use lakme glide on eye color and colorbar i-glide eyepencil)

i mix rose water with oil and then remove my eye makeup. these days I have the maybelline eye makeup remover. It is doing the job just fine. Like it might not be the best option but is quite a convenient option. :) http://makeupandbeauty.com/maybelline-makeup-remover-eye-lip-review-experiment/

Olive oil works fine for me..only thing you have to keep it on eyes for sometime and then wipe off with damp cotton, it removes stubborn eye make up without leaving a trace!!and being natural it will not do any harm to your eyes…

Reply

Rati December 3, 2010 at 11:17 am

same here Shyna. Works wonders for me as well. :)

someone told me any cold cream or all purpous cream also removes makeup, is it true?
does it remove waterproof makeup too?

Reply

Rati December 3, 2010 at 11:33 am

I have also heard about it but never tried. It would be unsafe for using inside the eyes.

I used cotton dipped in oilve oil to remove my eye make up before i bought the revlon eye and lip make up remover . Its works pretty good and is gentle too .

Radhika December 3, 2010 at 11:46 am

I think Maybelline would be a good option – biphase eyemakeup removers take off pretty stubborn makeup. :-) )

Ahh.. Kazuo Ishiguro. His ‘Remains of the Day’ won the Booker Prize and was made into a movie also starring Anthony Hopkins and Emma Thompson. Rati and I used to buy his every book once. Not all were worth reading though. Some were very boring.

Two books you must read- ‘Norwegian Woods’ By Haruki Murakami and ‘Remains of the Day’ by Kazuo Ishiguro.

Vinisha December 3, 2010 at 1:13 pm

radhika..i dunno much about mehendi, but if it is peeling off then it surely has to do with the low grade quality of the product u might be using….because i hve such similar experience and it was because the product was not that good.

Amel, i use maybelline eye and lip makeup remover and it works just so great…worth the money too as quantity required to remove make up isnt much

Reply

Radhika December 3, 2010 at 1:16 pm

Vinisha, I am pretty sure its something to do with the product. I have had absolutely no problem with what my grandma made by grinding leaves from the plant… :-) )

Reply

Vinisha December 3, 2010 at 1:19 pm

i swear….even the mehendis these days are adultrated which make u happy initially as it does not require much time to get dark in colour but later u r all dissapointed…

Priya December 3, 2010 at 2:08 pm

i agree and it leaves such a sad color post the peel

almond oil olive oil all work so well n dey dont even irritate your eyes, and yes d mehndi peeling off means it contains some dye n i have had rilly bad experiences with such mehndi dey cause itching n rashes n what not :( :(

Bee December 4, 2010 at 2:15 am

even i do that… leave the cotton on the eyes for a few seconds or apply oil all over the face and let the make up come loose. and then wen u wipe it – everything will come off :D
but only my mascara takes forever :(

I am from Bangalore and My skin is partly dry and partly oily in this climate. If i apply a oily moisuturizer, the skin becomes to oily else it becomes dry in some parts of my face if i use the other one. Please suggest a good moisturizer.
