Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain – Cherish

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain- Cherish

Hi ladies! How’s everyone? Well, it’s always a lovely day here on IMBB right? And yes, it’s another lovely day for me too, to share a review with you all. =)

I swapped my favorite Rendezvous (orangey, coral shade on lips) Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain for a Cherish (cool-toned pink) shade. Was this Cherish worth swapping for?

My Experience with Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain in Cherish:

My sister was the first owner of this Cherish shade and she only used it once. She told me she was having a hard time wearing cool tone pinks like this. She ordered this online and that she was not even able to try this at the mall prior to purchasing.

I, myself find cool-tone pink lip colors a bit difficult to wear but I agreed to swap balm stains with my sister because my mom told me that she likes cool-toned pink lip colors and that she wants Revlon Kissable Balms. So I got this one for her. My mom doesn’t mind receiving slightly used lipsticks from me. She even wants me to pick lip color for her most of the time. So before I gave her this Cherish, I tried it first to see if I can rock it. =)

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains are like jumbo crayons. Cherish shade is housed in light pink plastic tube. The silver bottom has to be twisted to get more balm out of the tube. Each tube contains 2.7 grams of product in it and I found it being sold for around $9 in the US, Rs. 600 in India and Php 575 here in the Philippines. My sister bought this online for few dollars less.

I love the light, cool-toned pink color of this balm stain. Looking at the lip balm it looks too cool and pale but since it is not really opaque on lips, the redness of lips somehow neutralized the coolness of this balm stain. It is also buildable but I find layering color on my lips makes it look off. It does not flatter my skin tone well when I wear it too opaque. It looks over the top.

I’ve read a lot of bloggers’ rants on how cool tone pinks can be very difficult to wear. I agree and this Revlon Just Bitten Kissable in Cherish just won’t flatter a lot of skin tones. Well, I included. I find the shade to better suit ladies having lighter skin tone.

And since this is a bit sheer on lips, the unevenness of my lip color peeks through. It looks better on my lower lip where it appears to be a girly light pink color. But on my upper lip which is a bit darker than my upper lip, it looks more of lilac. After 5 to 10 minutes on lips, it looks more even and a whole lot better. But then again, it sort of highlighted even more unevenness of my lip tone. So if you have uneven lip tone like me, better try it at the mall prior to purchasing.

It leaves fresh feeling on lips because it is minty. I like that it is not so strong. It is easy to apply on lips that I can even apply this without looking at a mirror. It is lightweight and not sticky on lips as well.

To compare, both Rendezvous, which is the Revlon’s orange-y shade balm stain and Sweetheart, which is a bright blue based pink does not emphasize lines on my lips like what Cherish does. Also, both Rendezvous and Sweetheart lasts longer on lips for compared to Cherish. This particular balm lasts only 3 hours on me.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain – What I like:

  • -Sheer, cool pink shade that does not really mask the redness of lips. The color is buildable but I make sure to apply sheer layer all the time.
  • -Ease of application.
  • – Minty feeling on lips.
  • -It relieves my lips’ dryness effectively. The balmy feel stays on lips 3 to 4 hours. It does not make lips dry or thirsty after long hours of use.
  • -Lightweight and non sticky.
  • -It is available on all Revlon counters and on some online shops too.

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain – What I don’t like:

  • -I find it a bit expensive.
  • -Does not flatter my skin tone.
  • – Cherish emphasizes the lines of my lips upon application.
  • -I find it not so okay for those who have uneven lip tone like me.
  • -The color stays for 3 to 4 hours only on me which is short but I find okay. I don’t mind reapplying.

IMBB Rating:

3/5

Final Thoughts:

I already gave this lip balm stain to my mom and I am glad this looks good on her since she has even lip tone. I find Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stains in Cherish, being a cool-toned pink shade, not to flatter wide range of skin tone. This will appear differently on lips too, depending on one’s lip pigmentation. It looks light pink on pinkish or reddish lips but appears lilac on darker lips.

Always wear beauty!
