Revlon Colorstay Shadow Links Eyeshadow – Taupe Review

Revlon Colorstay Shadow Links Eyeshadow – Taupe Review

Hello beautiful women,

Hope you all are doing fine. The travel posts of Rati and Sanjeevji are so wonderful and have been such an energy booster, that I was in no mood to review a dud, but reviewing a dud is as important as reviewing a hit because your money is saved in the process and personally I get to burst out my fury in public.  Revlon has been on and off in regards to the products but I had completely no idea that this new launch would be such a failure. They have failed to impress me in each and every category.

My Experience with Revlon Colorstay Shadow Links Eyeshadow – Taupe:

Texture and Pigmentation:  I have no idea where to start and where to finish. It is a dud all the way through. Surprisingly, it does not feel chalky on the finger, but on application, there is absolutely nothing visible. I mean I had high expectations from this particular shade as this is neutral and can be worn regularly. But there is no point in applying it because it is like applying translucent powder; even that, it applies in a patchy way. It is not uniform when applied on the lids. Hence I cannot categorize it into “for fair skin only” group.

Staying Power:  Boo! When nothing is visible, how long do you expect it to stay? Forever? Well, for the swatch I had to rub rub and rub endlessly and only then it could be photographed. With the BB cream as a base, it stayed for a while, say for 2 hours but then it faded into nothing.

Packaging:  Consider me an easy examiner that I will give this dud one point for the packaging. Revlon tried to use all of its resource in developing the packaging so that we can make a custom palette, but they had no brains that if the product is not worth it, the palette would be useless too. Anyway, looking into the positive side, if they can improve on the formulation, the idea of linked palettes is unique in Indian market.

I think Revlon wasted such a fab unique idea of linked shadows to create a custom palettes. If they had not got into the price play, they could have definitely created a rave in the Indian cosmetic market. No wonder these will not be getting the due honor as people will buy the product, not the packaging. That would come as an added benefit. Work on the formulation guys!
