Hi Everyone, with so much festivity around, I think its time for some makeup shopping. This weekend, I am planning to buy (read hoard) a whole lot of lipsticks, which would go with my festival attires, sounds so exciting. Temptations aside, coming back to the review. Today, I am going to review a lip gloss by Revlon. I got this one around 4 months back and the funny part is I had forgotten about it completely. I incidentally stumbled upon it while cleaning my wardrobe a fortnight back. Since then, I have been using it on and off. Let’s take a detailed review of the same:
Product Being Reviewed:
Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss Pearl Plum 18.
Peach Petal, Fire Cracker, Coral Reef, Pink Pop, Lilac Pastelle, Shine City, Nude Lusture , Pink After Glow Pearl Plum, Pink Whisper, Foiled, Pink Pursuit.
What Does Revlon Super Lustrous Lipgloss Claim
• Glossy formula combines sheer color.
• Intense moisture.
• Light-reflecting spheres to create amazing shine.
• SPF 15.
Price/ Quantity/ Packaging:
INR 350 ( approximately, though I am not sure) for 5.9 ml. It comes in a square plastic tube with a black cap.The transparent packaging helps to see the shade. It comes with a doe-foot applicator, which helps in easy application on the contours of the lips. It is quite a sturdy packaging. It can be put into the purse without worrying about the leakage.
My Take on Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss Pearl Plum 18:
It is a reddish plum shade with evident shimmers in it. The shimmers are quite palpable once I put it on the lips, it does not give a shiny effect, it gives a shimmery effect. It is not a very pigmented shade, but can be intensified with more application (though I like the sheer color which one application gives). The consistency of the gloss is just about average, but I find it a little sticky, the stickiness can be attributed to the good staying power I suppose. It stays on easily for 3-4 hours with light munching. When it starts to fade, it leaves a tinge of colour on the lips and loads of shimmery particles. To wipe it off completely, a wet tissue has to be used. It has a very mild fragrance which everyone would like, even sensitive noses.
The one and only problem with the gloss is shimmer particles, the shade is beautiful brick red, but shimmers make it unsuitable for the everyday wear. You can notice the shimmer on my hand below when I wiped off the swatch:
Below are the pics of the gloss in different lights:
Pros of Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss Pearl Plum 18:
1. Staying power is appreciable.
2. Does not make the lips dry.
3. Leaves a tinge of colour when it starts to fade.
Cons of Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss – Pearl Plum 18:
1. The shiney shimmery particles do seem OTT.
2. A little sticky.
Will I Recommend?
No, I don’t want you people to look like disco balls.
2.85 out of 5 ( if the shimmers are removed, this gloss would get a 4.25 out of 5).
