As I have stated before, my mom has an aversion to buying makeup even if she adores “dolling up”. But now my mom has finally started loving to shop for her own makeup. Hallelujah!
But on the flipside, she still wants my opinion. *grimaces* Don’t you hate it when someone asks your opinion but then disregards it? Well, that’s my mom for you. :p This review is regarding the Revlon lipstick that made its way to my mom’s stash. It’s a very mature red that just brightens up your face in a single swipe.

Packaging: This is a travel friendly black tube of lipstick that closes with a satisfying snap. It is very elegant with a no clutter approach when it comes to the casing, with the name of the brand “Revlon” emblazoned on the gold part of the tube. The top of the tube is transparent and makes identifying the lipstick a breeze. The lipcolour has a slanted tip which makes precise application a walk in the park.
My take on Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Rich Raspberry:
The colour is a stunning maroon-red that is both mature yet snazzy, due to its frost finish. Older women, can build the opacity they require in a few swipes and look ready for a night out. While, younger women can add a layer of gloss to jazz up the colour further.
My mother loves this colour and feels that it brightens up her complexion with just a swipe. At the risk of sounding dramatic, I would say that she’s almost obsessed with this lipstick and considers it her HG red lippie.
Nevertheless, the lipstick only lasts for 2-3 hours but fades evenly. No matter how much you layer it, the lipstick never feels heavy and doesn’t settle into fine lines or bleed either. Seeing as it’s from the Super Lustrous range, it is particularly moisturising and gives the lips a “wet look”. Hence, it isn’t necessary to top it off with a gloss, unless you want a high shine look.
It smells a bit like cinnamon, the smell lingers for a while but isn’t overpowering at all.
Pros of Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Rich Raspberry:
1. Sturdy travel safe packaging.
2. Universally flattering shade, will suit every skin tone and age group.
3. Moisturising, so much so, that a lipbalm isn’t required.
4. Fades evenly.
5. Pigmented shade.
6. Does not settle into fine lines or bleed.
7. Smells divine.
8. Easily available in India.
9. Gives a subtle sheen.
10. Little transparent window to view the lipcolour.
Cons of Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Rich Raspberry:
1. Presence of many chemicals
2. Staying power could be improved
3. Frosted finish (could be a pro for some)
4. Expensive
5. Transfers easily.
6. The finish ensures that the lipstick is confined to the late hours, not suitable for the daytime.
Will I repurchase?
Maybe in another colour.
Will I recommend to friends?
Certainly, it’s a universally flattering shade.

This is a classic Revlon packaging! Love it, its so nostalgic! My mom used to buy it 12-13 years ago!
