Revlon Super Lustrous Pure Attraction Lipstick Review

I am back after a long time.  It was not supposed to be this long a break, but the winters made me extremely lethargic.  Anyway, I hope that now that I have broken my lazy spell, I will keep going. Today, I am going to review Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Pure Attraction. I received this lipstick in some Revlon gift pack. Read on to see how it fared.

My Take on Revlon Super Lustrous Pure Attraction Lipstick:

Packaging:  The lipstick comes in a half black, half golden cylindrical tube with a black cap. To be very honest, there is nothing special about the packaging of these super lustrous lipsticks. The shade name is written at the bottom.

Shade:  Revlon Super Lustrous lipstick in Pure Attraction belongs to the frost family. Thus, it contains shimmer, lots and lots of shimmer. The shade “Pure Attraction” is pinky mauve with lots and lots of silver shimmer.  The shimmer is so much that it totally fails to add anything to the shade that otherwise might have been a great MLBB one. Overall, the shade failed to impress me due to its frost finish. The color may not suit all skin complexions.

Texture:  The texture of the lipstick is smooth in spite of the heavy amount of shimmer it contains, but layering it up makes it a bit gritty. It glides easily on the lips. One major disappointment is that the shimmer particles start dispersing around the lips. It is neither hydrating neither drying on the lips.

Pigmentation:  Pigmentation of this particular shade is average. One swipe does not bring out the colour very well. Two swipes may do the job for average pigmented lips, but heavily pigmented lips need multiple swipes at which point the heavy silver shimmer dominates any colour whatsoever.

Staying Power:  The staying power is poor. It stays put only for 2-2.5 hours. The lipstick does not bleed but the shimmer does. It travels to all parts of your face, specially the chin and lower cheek. That is a big con for me. Also, it transfers easily.

Pros of Revlon Super Lustrous Pure Attraction Lipstick:

• Smooth texture.
• Glides easily on the lips.

Cons of Revlon Super Lustrous Pure Attraction Lipstick:

• Too much silver shimmer.
• Need multiple swipes to build the colour.
• Poor staying power.
• Shimmer moves from lips to other parts of the face.
• Transfers easily.
• Not worth the price at all.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Revlon Super Lustrous Pure Attraction Lipstick?

This particular shade from the “Super Lustrous” range was a big fail. I have tried other shades from the range and they are good but this one totally disappointed me.  I would definitely not repurchase it and neither recommend it.
