I remember enjoying “motichoor ladoo” on Children’s Day back in school and I really miss those heavenly delicious motichoor delights more than the school event 😉 😛 Anyway, today I am here to share a lipstick from my sister’s collection, from the Revlon Shiny Sheer Lip Color range.  I wonder how she always manages to get wine and rum, even in her lip products 😛 Don’t ask me further 😉 We mostly enjoy weekends with her hot and sinful cocktail recipes and both my hubby and sister transformed me into a die-hard fan of neat vodka with brown sugar and ice (it does have lemons too) :cough Well, if you want vodka cocktail recipe (do keep it a secret.. :P) then ping me on Madam Gupshup 😛 Meanwhile let me continue with the review, about Revlon Shiny Sheer Lip Color in Sheer Rum Glow.

Packaging:  This subtle glittery lip color comes in a retractable classy pen packaging with equally classy black case. It does have a slightly faint smell which is not overpowering, thankfully.

My Experience with Revlon Super Lustrous Sheer Rum Glow Shiny Sheers Lip Color:

Well, like her previous wine shade, I would not dare to touch this sheer yet bold rum shade, hence I will share her experience with you all. The shade name says it all, it is a beautiful shimmery yet subtle glossy lip color which imparts 60% to 70% pigmentation on lips along with glossy finish which is impressive considering that it is intended to be sheer lip color. It seems a bronze-brown shade to me with golden shimmer which is way subtle on the lips and not overpowering at all. In fact, the shade looks more glossy and creamy with a hint of golden glitter. It will suit medium-tan skin tones and middle-age beauties best.  When I tried this shade, I felt as if it added years to my face 😛

The texture of the lip color is extremely creamy and soft, and glides effortlessly even on dry skin without accentuating any further issues. This shade gives enough color pay off in just two coats, which makes it a promising product for women with pigmented lips. The glossy sheen stays put for good 3-4 hours apart from pigmentation which does fade away after 5-6 hours leaving behind a shimmery bronze sheen. It comes off completely after one heavy meal. I am also impressed to see that as long this shade stays on the lips, it does not cause any irritation, does not dry out the lips either.

We do feel the need of lip balm wiping it off after a couple of hours though. Moreover, it does not feather or bleed on lips even though it’s so glossy and creamy. However, it does melt at room temperature in summers (you can see that in the pics).  Overall, considering the shade, subtle glitter and performance, I feel this lip color is a great purchase and my sister is a fan of Revlon products (unlike my love for L’Oreal :P).  She highly recommends this shade and product to every middle aged medium/light/olive/tan skin beauties.

Pros of Revlon Super Lustrous Sheer Rum Glow Shiny Sheers Lip Color:

• A creamy bronze-brown glossy shade with subtle shimmer.
• It gives intense pigmentation in two swipes despite being a sheer glossy lip color.
• Also suitable for beauties with pigmented lips because it has enough color pay off to conceal light/medium patches on the lips.
• Imparts gorgeous bronze-brown pigmentation along with glossy hue and hint of golden shimmer for extra oomph without looking cheap or gothic.
• Effortlessly glides on even dry lips and does not accentuate further issues.
• The glossy sheen stays put for good 3-4 hours while the lip color stays on an average of 5-6 hours with light meals.
• Does come off gracefully leaving behind a glossy hue after one heavy meal.
• Even though it’s a glossy creamy lip color, it does not bleed on the lips.
• Pretty classy, attractive and travel-friendly packaging, comes at a good price.

Cons of Revlon Super Lustrous Sheer Rum Glow Shiny Sheers Lip Color:

• Does tend to melt and break in hot temperatures and gentle pressure.
• This shade might be tricky for younger gals.

This is my sister’s next favorite lipstick after her Revlon moisture stay stuff, which I am yet to share on IMBB.  She will get this shade again and for its texture, finish and color.  Personally, I am tempted to try the other other shades now. For her, it is 4.5/5!
