Revlon Super Lustrous Shine 845 Terra Copper Lipstick Review

I rarely buy lipsticks, and when I do they’re always browns, pinks and nudes. But, this time I was looking for a much muted red and ended up with this instead. Today’s lipstick is Revlon Super Lustrous Shine 845 Terra Copper Lipstick. Let’s get to the review.

My Experience with Revlon Super Lustrous Shine 845 Terra Copper Lipstick:

The reason I got this was because I was misled by the swatch. It looked like a light brownish nude shade in the swatch and later when I wore it, I found it to be a bright brown! The swatch looked so lovely that I could not resist, and also they were offering some discount :D.  I was skeptical  about wearing this as I wondered if it would suit me or not.

Packaging: Classic combination of black and gold. Match made in heaven. The bullet is housed in a gold tube, with a black outer packaging and cap. The cap click shuts and is sturdy. No worries about the cap opening accidentally inside handbags. The colour of the sticker at the bottom is exactly the same colour as the bullet, I’m amazed that they could match them so closely. 😀

Shade: The lippie is a warm brown, with red undertones. It will suit most skin tones. On my fair skin it brightens up my face. This is sort of a mature shade, it suits me since I wear my lipsticks sheer.

Texture: The texture is very smooth and creamy. It glides on lips like breeze even without a lip balm underneath. I am done with just a single swipe. It feels very light on lips, like barely there. It does moisturize the lips quite well and it did not dry out my lips at all. I saw that it did not settle into fine lines and accentuate it. It does not have any smell or taste.

Pigmentation: Slightly on the sheer side. Not insanely pigmented either, for a brown it is perfect. I love sheer lipsticks so I do not have issues with it.  Two to three coats would make it completely opaque. There are copper micro-shimmers in the brown base which is pretty and doesn’t show up on lips. They just add to the shine.

Lasting Power and Finish:  Lasting power is average, about 2.5+ hours with light snacking. I don’t have issues with this either, since I don’t mind re-applying when needed. It fades evenly and leaves a light tint. It settles into a glossy lustrous finish that looks just perfect and not over the top. The grace of the shiny finish wears off with time though. I am absolutely okay, because I love how it looks even after that.

I usually stayed away from lipsticks with lustrous finish, but after getting this my view changed. I thought glossy finish was not my cup of tea; I got this one by sheer accident and I am a happy girl.

This is a must try, if you’re into browns and a stickler of lustrous finish. I would definitely buy some other shades from this range. I love it 🙂

Conclusion:

My view about glossy, lustrous finish lipsticks changed after this buy. They’re as pretty as matte, this shade is adorable and a must have brown. A perfect lipstick for everyday wear. Worth every penny, trust me!
