Today, I am reviewing the last shade from the recently-launched “Revlon Ultra HD Matte” lip color range called “HD Passion.” I have already reviewed all the other 7 shades from this range – Flirtation, Devotion, Obsession, Addiction, Temptation, Love, and Seduction. Read on to find out more about the shade “Passion.”

My Experience with Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color – HD Passion:
Packaging: This lipstick comes in a sleek, flat, oval tube in a frosted matte finish and a silver cap. The packaging is quite attractive and classy. The cap is a screw-on type and hence there is no danger of it coming off loose.
It comes with a paddle-shaped applicator which is quite standard. It is easy to use and makes the application precise and quick.
Shade/Pigmentation: “Passion” is a gorgeous watermelon red which instantly brightens up the face. It is a lovely shade which would appeal to all red lovers. The lipstick is decently pigmented, but two swipes are needed for a fully opaque coverage. There is slight clumping of the lipstick if you layer it on. Also, you need to be careful with the application as the lipstick has a tendency to transfer onto the teeth.
Texture/Finish: This is a liquid lipstick and has a creamy texture. It is not very runny and spreads easily on the lips. Even though this range is advertised as matte, the lipstick does not dry down completely and remains slightly wet.
This lipstick feels pretty comfortable and lightweight on the lips and does not feel drying, but as the day passes, the lipstick feels slightly tacky if you purse your lips together. This particular shade does not settle into lip lines and highlight any dry patches. But since this is a liquid lipstick, I would recommend exfoliating lips before application.
It has a pretty strong fruity-candy scent. Those of you who are sensitive to fragrances in their cosmetics will surely not like it. The good part is that the scent doesn’t stay on for long once applied.
Lasting Power: Since this lipstick is not truly matte, it does transfer a bit. It lasts on me for around 4 hours depending on what I am snacking/drinking.
Pros of Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color – HD Passion:
- Lovely red shade.
- Creamy texture which glides smoothly on the lips.
- Decent pigmentation.
- Attractive packaging.
- Does not feel drying on the lips.
Cons of Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color – HD Passion:
- Does not have a matte finish as advertised.
- Average staying power.
- Slight clumping if layered.
- Slight tackiness is experienced as day passes.

Would I Repurchase Revlon Ultra HD Matte Lip Color – HD Passion?
If you like liquid lipsticks with a slight sheen, you may try it out. But, it is not a completely matte lipstick.
I will not repurchase the exact same shade.
