Revlon Velvet Touch Lipstick in Choco Berry Review

Revlon Velvet Touch Lipstick in Choco Berry Review

I am so missing writing on IMBB, I am so so bogged down with my future study plans. I have almost given up on reaching for my makeup cupboard, my fantasyland . I come to IMBB everyday and sigh that I have loads to write over here, just not getting the time when I can pour myself into my favorite hobby, writing about makeup stuff and really missing the lovely IMBB ladies.

Revlon Velvet Touch Choco Berry

I had a horrible stint with the Revlon Colorstay Eyeliner Pen last month and thought I will dump the brand for a long time to come. However, I bought another product during my last Revlon haul- a Revlon Velvet Touch lipstick that sort of calmed my frustration down to some extent. So, here is a little review for you all, sorry, had to skip the FOTD which I love doing otherwise. My face has broken out due to sheer lack of care.

Revlon Velvet Touch Lipstick in Choco Berry Price:

Rs 525.

My Take on Revlon Velvet Touch Lipstick in Choco Berry:

I got mine from Shoppers Stop South City Mall Kolkata, so putting up a picture from Shoppers Stop website. The packaging is nice, the red and gold combination is very classy and the lid is transparent at the top, which helps in identifying the shade easily. There are plenty of shade options, from browns to pinks and from dark to nude shades coming in this range. The texture is very creamy and moisturizing. The pigmentation is good, it needs 2 to 3 swipes to build up the full color. In my opinion, staying power varies from one person to another. On my lip, it stayed put for 4-5 hours easily. Being creamy, it transfers a little to cups, but no complaints on that, all creamy lippys do that. Moreover, it does not bleed.

For ladies who swear by browns, this shade I think should be a must have. This is a chocolate brown shade with peach undertones. It is very wearable and would greatly flatter warm skin tones. Owing to its creamy texture, there is no need of pre-conditioning the lips. I found no dryness throughout the day. This also doesn’t accentuate lines on the lips and overall gives a great pout if teamed with a suitable liner.

I simply love this lipstick as this offers a creamy texture, gives a soft satin finish and stays long enough.

So to sum up:

Pros:

1) Great creamy texture that keeps the lips soft throughout the day.
2) Good staying power.
3) Lovely soft color, which is close to brown-peach combined.
4) Doesn’t settle on fine lines on lips.
5) Applies smoothly with good pigmentation.

Cons:

Price is higher than Maybelline color sensational and moisture extreme ones, which offer quite similar quality and close shades.

Rating:

4/5.

    1. Yaa Rati-basically I bought it for formal purposes only-this is soft and muted and lips would never look chapped even if worn for a whole day-totally apt for officewear :pompom: :pompom: :pompom: :pompom:

    1. Thanks Aarthi !!! Browns of all sorts are most well covered by Maybelline I must say-but there are other colors in this range too-which are beautiful 🙂 🙂 🙂

    1. hehehehe- well – Revlon is now having close competition with Chambor in being my favorite brand !!! I never knew the brand that I almost gave a passe (Chambor that is!) all these years had such amazing stuff!!! Will post some reviews of stuff in due time :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

    1. Ya-do check out this range Shai-you will get them in any revlon counter-I found so many pretty colors and frankly I liked this range more than colorburst-in terms of texture and finish at least -Satin and matte finish lippys are my favorite items now :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot: :woot:

      1. Yeah colour burst has very few shades. I bought chocolate for my friend, cos she liked my chocolicious from the super-lustrous range…and it was more maroon! Strange. I love matte lippies, have ever since the 90s!

    1. yepp   – and the finish is just as great :pompom: :pompom: :pompom: :pompom: perfect for formal and officewear :yahoo: :yahoo: :yahoo:

    1. Yepp-my love for browns have returned because of this one – I was sooo into peach in the last few months

    1. Yaa-but its a perfect shade for formal wear-these are the times when I am at loss deciding on what to wear that wont look OTT- at these times this shade can alone save the look -with the help of some eyeliner and mascara :pompom: :pompom: :pompom:
