Sally Hansen Luminous Tulips Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color Review

Looking at so many Sally Hansen product reviews on IMBB, I was tempted to try this brand and since I had a few functions to attend I ordered their nail paints. Their nail paints have got high rating on IMBB, I went ahead and bought 3 shades. I shall be reviewing one of them today called Sally Hansen Luminous Tulips Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color.

Claims:

Sally Hansen Diamond Strength no chip nail color stops nails from breaking.
• Up to 10 day protection from breaking, splitting and cracking.
• Infused with real micro-diamonds & platinum.

Price :

INR 350 for 13.3 ml.

My Experience with Sally Hansen Luminous Tulips Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color:

Packaging: It comes in a sturdy glass bottle with a crystal embedded in front. They literally have emphasized on it being the diamond strength nail colour. The metal finish applicator is long and sleek. The soft brush, though, has sparsely held bristles, it doesn’t bother during the application. On the contrary, it becomes easier to maneuver in the corners and sides of the nails with this applicator. Overall, I am quite happy with the simple, yet, useful packaging .

Shade: It is beautiful mauve(ish) pink shade with subtle shimmers. The shimmers are not at all OTT , but just add to the glossy finish of the colour. They have aptly named it as Luminous Tulips as the shade is very similar to the pink/purple tulips. It instantly brightens up my hands. I can wear it both during the day time as well as during night outs.

Texture/ Finish: The texture of the nail paint is really smooth and buttery. You can easily differentiate it from other nail paints. The consistency is between creamy and thin. It spreads easily on the nails without looking streaky or goopy. The first coat, however, comes a bit streaky but with the second coat it settles to a beautiful glossy finish nail paint.

The shine stays like that for a good 4-5 days. The pigmentation is also good. One swipe, though, streaky gives a full opaque coverage. With two swipes it becomes just fine. It dries off within 2-3 minutes. Even with multiple swipes(I tried 4 coats to check the drying time) it does not take more than 5 minutes to dry completely.

Longevity/ Staying Power: Well, it claims up to 10 days protection from breaking, splitting and cracking, I found that it started coming off from the top edges of my nail paints on day 6. I am not complaining on that front at all because with all the household chores, even 6 days is a pretty good time for the nail paint to stay intact. It is actually a no chip nail colour.

Fragrance: My review doesn’t end if I don’t check a product on this parameter. I am quite a fanatic when it comes to fragrances in cosmetics as I just abhor them. This nail paint has the usual fragrance that all nail paints have, something chemical-ish and alcohol kinds. The smell won’t bother much once the nail paint has dried off, however if you sniff your nails too closely, you will be able to make out the smell.

Summarising the pros and cons,

Pros of Sally Hansen Luminous Tulips Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color:

• Glossy chip free nail colour that stays good for 7 days.
• Easily buildable and gives full coverage in 2 swipes.
• The long applicator is easy to work with.
• Dries pretty fast.
• Classy and chic packaging.
• Brightens up my hands.
• Can be worn at any time of the day.

Cons of Sally Hansen Luminous Tulips Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color:

• I wish it were fragrance free.
• 10 days no chipping claims are a bit blown out of proportion.

Would I Recommend/Repurchase Sally Hansen Luminous Tulips Diamond Strength No Chip Nail Color?

Not this shade because I already have two other nail paints in the same shade, but I would lay my hands on all other shades super soon. This range of nail paints has impressed me like no other. Do I need to still write whether I recommend or not? Go Ladies, run for it.
