Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel Review

Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel Review

Hello Everyone,

Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel

I have oily skin and during summers,I cannot apply most of the moisturizers even though they claim to be oil free, but don’t live upto their claims. So, I asked my dermatologist to suggest a good, oil-free moisturiser and she suggested this gel.  When I heard that I had to pay nearly Rs. 600 for just 50 ml, I had second thoughts since I did not whether it would work for me, but then, I had no other option, so bought it.

Product Description:

  • Panthenol supports the healing of acne lesions.
  • Hyaluronic acid increases the moisturizing binding capacity of the skin.
  • Aloe barbadensis soothes irritated skin.
  • The pH value of 5.5 biologically inhibits the growth of acne bacteria.
  • Allantoin smoothes rough, scaly skin.
  • No oils and emulsifiers.
  • No perfume.
  • No colorants

Care Gel

Price:

Nearly 600 for 50 ml.

Here’s how the gel looks like:

Gel

For demo, I have washed my hands a lot with soap, so they are now dry.

Gel cream

After I spread it evenly:

Face cream

See, just a small amount is enough, it spreads smoothly.

Swatch

Just in half a minute, it dries up totally leaving moisturised and smooth skin.

My Experience with Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel:

This is a very moisturizing gel.  It really stays true to its claims of being “oil free.” It is very light on the skin and I don’t feel like I have applied some gel. I am very happy with this product. You just need a little amount of the product as it spreads very easily.

Pros of Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel:

  • Oil free.
  • Moisturising.
  • Feels very light on the skin.
  • When I apply it on my face, it quickly dries up making the skin smooth.
  • Skin does not feel stretched. Normally, it does when you apply gel based crème.
  • Does not contain any oil.
  • Does not contain parabens or colourants.

Cons of Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel:

  • The price is a bit on the higher side considering the quantity.
  • Does not contain any SPF.

Will I Recommend Sebamed Clear Face Care Gel?

I would recommended it to people with oily skin and to those who are in search of a good oil-free moisturiser.

Below is a small article for those who want to know about skin’s ph value:

Ph

Our skin has a special feature, its surface is slightly acidic. On average the pH value of the skin is 5.5. The slightly acidic pH value of the surface of the skin wards off pathogens that cause disease. The balance of the ecosystem of the surface of our skin promotes harmless micro-organisms well-adapted to humans which are found in thousands on every square centimetre of the skin. Harmful bacteria and fungi do not tolerate the acidic pH value and are displaced by normal micro-organisms. In addition, the acidic pH value also stabilizes the skin’s function as a barrier. It ensures that lost fat in the horny layer is replenished quickly through reproduction. Another effect of the pH value of 5.5 is that the lipids in the horny layer retain their labyrinthine structure. This prevents water loss from the inside and penetration of pollutants or irritants from the outside. Thus the skin’s acid mantle performs an important protective function. Changes in the pH value of the skin weaken the protective function of the acid mantle. This promotes skin infection, dehydration, skin irritations and allergies.

The pH value shows whether a liquid is acidic, neutral or a base (alkaline). The pH scale ranges from 0 to 14. The neutral point is 7. Values over this point denote bases, values under this point acids. The further the value is away from 7, the stronger is the acid or base.  Not only skin contact with strong acids or bases but also daily skin care can damage the protective acid mantle when soap or other care products whose pH value does not correspond to the skin’s natural pH value of 5.5 are used. This is true for most so-called preparations with skin neutral pH.

    1. omg sneha it works really too much for you…:-p………for me it only works as a oil free moisturiser ……i agree it’s not tht costly bt there are many other creams available whch are oily free lik clean & clear which r too cheap so comparing with such it is expensive for the quantity…:-p

  7. It broke me out – so badly – apart from oily acne prone skin – I also have extremely sensitive skin – I used this the first time, after using the cleansing bar and it stung ! then I was like ok skin takes time to get used to a new product. Next day I had 2-3 new pimples 🙁 I was like no must be a co-incidence. But progressively with each day of using it my skin got worse and worse. If i stretched the gel to the back of my neck – next day new pimples there 🙁 I checked the package – its def no expired or anything – My skin is just soooper sensitive I guess, After about a week of using this, Ive now had to go back to using my hardcore anti acne meds, which I had stopped once my face had cleared up (was only using benzac for spot treatement) because my skin is in such bad shape 🙁

  8. ps – if u read the package this gel is part of seba meds anti-acne range and is specifically used to reduce pimples and other blockages on the skin

    1. Thank you Janhavi, right now there are some zits on my face which I am not sure how i got them, I will try to get benzac for spot treatment 🙂
