Sebamed Liquid Face and Body Wash Review

Sebamed Liquid Face and Body Wash Review

Dear Beauties,

After my good experience with Sebamed Clear Face Cleansing Foam, I wanted to try this face wash as my roommate is using this since a couple of years and swears by it. So, after my Vichy Cleansing Gel was over, I thought to give this a try and boy! I am in love!

Sebamed Liquid Face and Body Wash Review

I have combination skin which tends to get dry, especially around the corner of nose and lips.  Though I don’t get pimples any more, but my skin is prone to zits and I do have some blemishes from my previous battle with acne. Due to my skin type, I always use only face washes prescribed by my dermatologist.

I truly believe that after switching to Sebamed, Avene and Vichy brands, my skin has shown lots of improvement and I don’t get big pimples anymore and even zits have considerably reduced. All this has happened over a period of time and not overnight. I truly believe that you really need to keep patience and not expect overnight miracles in skin care.

Sebamed Liquid Face and Body Wash

So, what does Sebamed Say:

Product Description:

Sebamed Liquid Face and Body Wash is dermatologist developed, ultra-mild, and compatible with the most sensitive of skins. It gently deep cleans pores without causing dryness or irritation as regular soap can.

Fortified with a natural moisturizing complex of vitamins and soothing allantoin, it rinses away completely for naturally healthier, smoother skin.

The Science Behind Healthy Skin:

Every Sebamed product is meticulously formulated to a pH balance of exactly 5.5 – precisely the pH of healthy skin. This is essential in maintaining your skin‘s natural hydrolipid barrier against environmental stress. Any other pH level, such as found in soap may leave your skin open to break-down and deterioration. Discover what 150 clinical studies have already shown – pH 5.5 is vital for healthy skin.  Discover sebamed skin care: The extremely mild, soap-free product line with the same pH as your sensitive skin.  Nearly 100% Biodegradable. Cruelty Free.

My Experience with Sebamed Liquid Face and Body Wash:

As mentioned earlier, my roommate has been using this since the last couple of years and swears by it. She was suffering from adult acne, tried everything, but nothing really worked for her.  Finally, I suggested her to consult a dermatologist and get it fixed forever! The dermatologist prescribed her one ointment and this face wash. In about 6 months, her skin cleared completely! So, once my Vichy gel was about to get over and I immediately ordered this one and have been using this since the last 3 weeks.

My skin is combination and often dehydrated which causes it to look quite dull, so I am always on the lookout for products which not only are effective in cleansing, but also help me with my dehydrated skin, not making it further dry and dull.  This face wash works beautifully for me! It not only cleanses my skin well, but truly takes care of dry patches as well.

My skin not only looks clean but has a nice and healthy glow which I so love!! I don’t use this to remove makeup, so no idea if its good in that department, but according to me, one should use a separate makeup remover for face and eyes.

The packaging as you can see is very classy. It comes in a big white bottle and has a flip-flap cap on top. The face wash itself is sea green in color. The consistency is not thick at all, but more towards creamy consistency. You should need a pea size to cleanse your face and neck. It foams rather well giving that clean and refreshed feeling. The fragrance I feel reminds me of baby products 😀 which I totally love!

Sebamed Liquid Face and Body Wash

The face wash is especially for sensitive skin and maintains skin’s pH balance to 5.5.  It has really helped my skin to become free of zits. Now, I don’t get that many zits as I used to get earlier. I still do use my Sebamed Clear Face Cleansing Foam, but more like a treatment for my skin.  I use this 3 to 4 times a week mainly because I get a bit lazy as for cleansing foam, you need to wait for 5 to 8 minutes after applying the foam and then wash it off.

Cons of Sebamed Liquid Face and Body Wash:

  • Availability is the only con, but the good news is that its easily available online.

Price:

Rs. 550 for 200 ml.  This 200 ml easily goes on for 4 months, even if you use it every day! My roommate used one bottle for more than 6 months! Can you believe it and that too using 3 to 4 times every day!

IMBB Rating:

4.5 out of 5

      1. i checked medplus. this particular one is not available. They do have the cleansing foam and other sebamed products..

        1. oh i got it from them only..may be its out of them right now 🙁 but if you have medplus chemist shop nearby its available there as well!

          1. I went ahead with Lotus Herbal White glow this time. have been curious abt those for a very long time now. i bought the masque, scrub, cleansing foam and the gel creme. Though Olay works wonderfully well i am always always tempted to try new products so am really hoping that Lotus works as well 🙂

  1. i have used sebamed shampoo. i kinda liked it.
The SLS is a con for me in this.or else it seems to luk like a nice product.

      1. yup parita, i hv tried sebamed everyday shampoo and anti dry too,but they are dam costly n i finish the product too fast coz of my long hair! I also hv the habit of heavily oiling my hair before shampooing! But i must admit sebamed antidry is the best shampoo i cam across ,but its about 970 inr! I wish it cud be little cheaper!

  2. Hi….My friend had got the sample of it & he gave it away to someone else……if I had read this review earlier I would ve grabbed it before he would ve given someone:(

  3. Wow sounds like a promising product 😀 grt review parita.. I m using derma dew acne soap recommended by my derma for the last one year now..

  4. Hi Parita
I have been using Sebamed Clear Face Cleansing Foam, since last three weeks. and i think my search for the perfect face wash ends with this product.
I wana give a try Sebamed Liquid Face and Body Wash becos same as you i too feel sometime very lasy to wait for 5 min with that Foam.

  5. Parita, I asooo getting this. Although I have dry skin but guess this would work since it is alkali free or let me look for one for dry skin. I am almsot done with my third bottle of loccitane face wash and now I need a change. 😛 thanks for this. 🙂

  6. I have a very sensitive skin due to which i really have to think thrice before using any product. sebamed liquid face and body wash is the only one for me till date. It is so soft and loving to my skin. This is definitely a must have for me and m gonna buy this again. For me, It’s a 5 on 5.. Woohooooo 🙂 🙂

  7. I have been using this for about 2 months now. I was skeptical at first as it appears to be used more commonly for body rather than the face. I am quite choosy with the kind of face wash as I have very dry skin which causes my face to get all “oil-ed” up just a few hours after a face wash. This is really a good product, after a month of usage (twice a day, morning and night), I realized that acne don’t show up that often, and my face doesn’t get clouded with oil so soon after a wash with this product. My face do not feel “tight” after the wash too. So I guess, it’s really fixing my face’s pH level!

  8. Hey Parita,I need to ask you that which among the two would you recommend for someone who often has breakouts and quite a many white zits and blackheads(on face);should I go for Sebamed Liquid Face & Body Wash or Kaya Clinic’s soothing cleansing gel?
I’ve been using Kaya Clinic’s soothing cleansing gel for almost 2 months now but all is going down the drain as I am still, although a lot less than what I used to have two months ago, getting whiteheads which I fear might and at times do turn into small pimples. Also,my desperation to get away with acne made me go on antibiotic(Doxycycline) and Adapelene gel(Deriva-MS) on my dermatologist’s recommendation.
My fear is that once I end my antibiotic course(as it was only meant for 20 days),I’ll have massive breakouts again so all I am thinking is that I should have a good face-wash that’ll at least help in someway to stay away from acnes(if not entirely)
It’d be great if you could help me out with this.
    Thank you. 🙂
