Sephora Collection 16 Black Purple Long-Lasting 12HR Wear Eye Liner Review

I had picked the vibrant ‘Fancy Blue’ eye liner from the Sephora Store at Select CityWalk, Delhi last year and I went back wanting  more. I was looking for more colors in the range and this uncommon purple liner caught my attention. It looked like the color I would not easily find anywhere else – a unique combination of eggplant and black color. I use the Inglot purple gel liner but had a tough time using it during winters(they harden so easily), so this was the perfect time to get a liquid liner in the same color. So, I thought why not give it a try and here I am reviewing it for all you guys.

It comes with a purple-colored elongated cap and black bottle, very sleek and handy.

My take on Sephora Collection 16 Black-Purple Long-Lasting 12HR Wear Eye Liner:

Look:

It’s been a while since I used a liquid liner(have been so addicted to gel liners), so this was a pleasant change and just realised how easily liquid eye liners can help you create new looks. I used it to office with no eye makeup and it definitely brightened my face. The purple color does not really pop out, so it is kind of both a pro and a con since sometimes I like to show off bright colors on my eyes but thankfully on a regular office day, this looks very elegant.It does give an opaque color coverage in the first stroke itself which could be beautifully built with more intensity.

Tip :

It has a pointy felt tip which just makes it easier to get a perfect line; be it simply thin or winged. A beginner would be at ease too since the tip is super thin and you just cannot go wrong with it.

Texture:

Highly pigmented and very smooth!  I was ultra careful apprehending the liner might dry up very soon but thankfully that was not the case. My Sephora blue liner is as good as new and hence, I am going easy with this one too.

• Extremely easy to apply.
• Long lasting – Actually did not fade even after hours of application
• Smooth texture with a satiny finish.
• The quality ensures it does not dry up very soon.
• Low maintenance since the packaging is perfect and all you can just put it in your bags without any fear of leakage.
• The color shows on the cap so makes it easier for you to choose.
• The bottle looks tiny but the product does last you a long long time.

Cons of Sephora Collection 16 Black-Purple Long-Lasting 12HR Wear Eye Liner:

• In low light, you could almost mistake the color for black, a brighter purple would have been better.
• Pricey too, might get similar options for cheaper price.
• Gives a dry look and can be washed off with water and face wash.

Would I repurchase Sephora Collection 16 Black-Purple Long-Lasting 12HR Wear Eye Liner?

I will not repurchase this particular color but am waiting for some exciting colors in this range, maybe bolder and brighter ones. For the quality and texture, this range needs to be tried out and I do recommend it to all the readers.

I generally use this as it is for everyday wear and sometimes, I use it with bright purple eyeshadows. But I really feel most of the times, it looks like a normal black eye liner so for party makeup, I make sure to use some glitter liner over it. It mattifies after drying which I do not really like, I love those Revlon liquid eye liners which give a wet look even after drying.
