How are you doing today? I am here to share my newly purchased lip liner from Sephora Collection which is part of my mini spring haul. So far I love these creamy liners for their no tugging finish but they seem more like gel lipsticks and not like lip liners. In fact Sephora described individual shades as matte respectively but I did not notice any matte formula or finish so far. However I was never into completely matte love hence I am totally fine with these liners as well but this can be bit disappointing for true matte lovers. My Experience with Sephora Collection It’s Cherry Rouge Gel Lip Liner:

The liner comes in sleek, retractable pen packaging with sharpener at the end and tight shut cap much to my liking. I could not detect any significant fragrance in the liner so far. Over all it is quite travel friendly and user friendly product.

My shade “It’s Cherry” is described as matte true blue red which is true to its description except the fact that it does not provide any matte finish so far. Oh yes like I mentioned earlier I am surprised to see that the liner was so creamy and juicy on my lips unlike matte liners. However I am all for semi-matte, wet juicy lip products hence leaving aside slight disappointment I am really happy with this lip liner.

I have been longing for a perfect creamy gel liner in red color and this seems perfect match for my ideal red lip liner. Although blue based reds are only flattering for me with full face makeup unlike on bare skin and yes it comes up graceful with makeup. I see that it looks different under different light settings but it never made me look dull. It adds luminous glow to my skin regardless of using it during day or evening. The formula of this liner is amazing with light-weight, effortless glide on dry normal lips; it easily forgives minor dryness and pigmentations. It provides medium to opaque coverage depending upon number of swipes.

It maintains that subtle translucency in its finish to make it smooth & saturated and not cakey even with multiple swipes. I see that it neither sits on lip lines nor settles in dry patches or feather around lip area. I find it perfect to wear alone with no lip color or gloss as it alone gives high glossy shine with light-weight yet intense red color pay off. Wearing lip stain/lipsticks over this creamy liner certainly helps to bring out the best finish with considerable long lasting wear time as well.

I see that it normally stays for good 5-6 hours on its own while it settles onto subtle sheen over a period of time after which it seems too subtle to hide dry patches and/or deep pigmented patches on lips. I mean it usually fades onto patches after heavy meal or snacks, hence needs to be taken care of especially if you wear it alone. I find it neither intensely hydrating nor overtly drying for lips; it comfortably sits on my dry normal lips even though it does not provide hydration to my dry lip areas. Over all I find it certainly worth trying for every beauty except the matte lovers because it is not a matte finish lip liner. I would definitely like to get it again.

• Does help in contouring lips with partly creamy gel formula.
• Perfect to wear alone as well as beneath any matte, semi-matte lip product.
• Neither sits on dry patches nor settles in lip lines over a period of time.
• Doe not bleed or feather around lip line as well.
• Sits comfortably with glossy juicy finish for good 5-6 hours.
• Usually leaves a soft stain post lunch/dinner.
• User friendly & travel friendly retractable packaging.

Cons of Sephora Collection It’s Cherry Rouge Gel Lip Liner:

• Not a matte lip liner unlike its description.
• Might be tricky for dry parched lips.
• Does transfer.
• Tricky for layering beneath creamy lipsticks.

Well it can be a personal choice like I find it bit tricky for wearing beneath creamy lipsticks while it works as bliss for dry matte formula lip colors; I am surprised they describe it as matte shade.
