Shahnaz Husain Shamoist Plus Intensive Moisturising Milk

Hey Everyone!

I am back again with a review on one of my favourite brands Shahnaz Husain. Whenever a beauty product of mine gets over, I decide on various options, but somehow end up in buying something from Shahnaz Husain only.

Shahnaz Husain Shamoist Plus Intensive Moisturising Milk Review

I have few reasons for it:

  • It’s totally Ayurvedic.
  • It was started by a woman entrepreneur who brought accolades to our country for her entrepreneurial talent.
  • It is a company of India.
  • Not tested on animals.

Zyada brand loyalty ho gaya kya? Well well, I have a logic for the third point I feel that if I am supposed to buy a new product for myself, If I buy it from a company of our country, at least some of the money would go to someone Indian.  Okay enough of my philosophy, let’s get back to the review.:)

Well, Shamoist is a product that I have used in the past winter and purchased it this winter also along with TBS Shea Butter and Biotique’s Winter Cherry.  My loyalty to Shahnaz Husain can also be attributed to my aunt who has been using it since ages and her skin has one of the best textures I’ve seen.

I wish I had clicked a snap of the previous tube that I had because it was the trademark Shahnaz Husain design – white fat tube with green leaves on it, but now, they have gone into a brand makeover. They have changed the pack to golden colour and added “plus” as a suffix to many of their products.

Let me share with you pics of Shamoist over the years.

1) The very first packaging (I remember my chachi using it years ago).

2) The packaging that I purchased last year.

The one in the new packaging is the one I am reviewing now.

Oh, by the way, while searching for the different types of packaging throughout the years, I found this interesting pic.  The link says that Ms. Indira Gandhi used Shabase during her campaigning, which is why Shahnaz Husain created Shamoist especially for the Prime Minister (wow I feel so royal using it!!!)

Indira Gandhi

Product Description from the Pack:

Ayurvedic Medicine (For external use only).

Price:

MRP Rs. 500/- (I got it at Rs. 450 through an online shopping website) for 100 gm.

Indications:

A premium moisturising formulation, it offers the ultimate answer to skin care needs. Specially reinforced with aloe vera juice and cucumber extract, it provides a surge of moisture to the skin, enhancing skin texture. It tones and nourishes the skin, leaving it smooth, soft and glowing.

Directions For Use:

Apply on face, neck and hands and leave on.

Ingredients:

Kheera Beej Extract 3.0%, Chandan Oil 0.25%, Chironji Extract 0.40%,, Madhu 0.25%, Aloe Vera Juice 1.0%, Badam Tel 0.50%, Wheat Germ Oil 0.50%, Base q.s. to make it 100%. Best before 3 years from the date of manufacturing and one more time the pack says: For Sale in India only, Not for export; which raises my doubts about the difference in quality of the product to be kept within the country and the one to be exported.

On my hand without any cream applied on it since 8 hours.

Shamoist

Swatch No 2 – the amount of cream taken.

Shamoist

Swatch No 3 – the area on which the cream is applied and the texture of the skin after application.

Swatch No 4- Close-up to show the texture of my skin post application of the cream.

My Experience with Shahnaz Husain Shamoist Plus Intensive Moisturising Milk:

I love using this cream. It is rich and creamy and gives a super smooth feeling to the skin when applied. I basically like the way it gets absorbed by my skin. I use it all over my body at night before retiring to bed and although I have a bath early in the morning, but on the days when I don’t, this cream keeps my skin hydrated till almost afternoon! (include super busy hours of the morning in it).  Even if I dip my hands in water a few times, my skin doesn’t become dry.

This precisely is a reason I could not stop myself from purchasing this again this year inspite of having Shea butter and Winter Cherry in stock.  The tube has a hologram sealing the cap and the tube.

Shamoist

Now, summing up the positives and negatives.

Positives of Shahnaz Husain Shamoist Plus Intensive Moisturising Milk:

  • Super moisturising (I have dry skin during winters).
  • Skin stays hydrated for long.
  • Gets absorbed by the skin really well.
  • Absolutely no chip-chip feel, I love it.
  • Typical Shahnaz Husain product smell.
  • Got it at a discount.

Negatives of Shahnaz Husain Shamoist Plus Intensive Moisturising Milk:

  • Price (might be an issue for some).
  • Might stay for lesser time on people with very dry skin.

IMBB Rating:

4.9/5

Would I Repurchase Shahnaz Husain Shamoist Plus Intensive Moisturising Milk?

Of course, this has now become my must-have product during winters!
