Sigma E36 Blending Brush Review

Sigma E36 Blending Brush Review

Hi everyone,

Today, I will review a brush from the highly popular Sigma range. It’s their E36 Precise blending brush.

Sigma E36 Blending Brush

Product Details:

Unique Feature: Long, slightly firm bristles.
Function: Creates precise application to the crease.
Recommended Use: Blend powder products onto small areas of the eye.

Price:

$14

My Experience with Sigma E36 Blending Brush:

Sigma brushes are the very best brushes in the market and they are widely recommended by beauty gurus and makeup artists alike.  I have a few brushes from their line and have been extremely pleased with their performance. I bought this brush after seeing it in action in a few of YouTube makeup tutorials.

Brush:

The brush is long and fits comfortably in the hand. The embossed sign of Sigma E36 against the shiny black handle looks very elegant.

Bristles:

The bristles are very soft. They are firm enough but also have certain flexibility which are the requirements of a good blending brush.

The thing that sets this brush different from any other brush in the market is the sheer tiny size of it. In the following pic, I have compared it side by side with the Sigma E25 blending brush so that you can make out the difference in the width.

Uses:

The bristles are so tiny and wispy that it gives the ultimate control in blending. I am able to use this brush in a few ways namely if I want a precise placement of my transition color from my crease color and don’t want everything to get too mixed up and sheered out which is usually what happens when you use a large blending brush. I can also use this to place very controlled amount of product in my crease if I ever want to do a “cut crease” look.

Sigma E36 Blending Brush

Even though I think this brush can have multiple uses I won’t put this under the “must-have” brush category. It would be especially beneficial for people with small eyes who have difficulty blending out their eye shadow as most blending brushes may be too big for them. If you are not one of those people with small eyes, you may not find many uses for this brush. As for an everyday person who usually is in a hurry to get their makeup done, this is not the brush for you. If you are exceptionally skilled at doing amazing multi-color eye looks or if you are a makeup artist/collector, this brush would be a gem in your collection as I have not seen a dupe of this brush anywhere.

I have not seen any shedding with any of my Sigma brushes nor have they lost their shape over time.  Overall, not a “must have” brush for most regular people, but if you have smaller eyes and find most blending brushes too big, give this brush a try.  I will also recommend to those who love to collect unique brushes and also to those who love to create precise multi-colored eye looks.

Pros of Sigma E36 Blending Brush:

  • One of a kind brush.
  • Well made.
  • The right amount of firmness and flexibility.
  • No shedding and retains shape even after multiple washes.

Cons of Sigma E36 Blending Brush:

  • Expensive than most other drugstore brushes in the market.
  • Not easily available in most stores.
