Skin and Hair Care Regimen Using Beer

Hello ladies,

I am sure most of you probably know the benefits of beer already! And today, I will tell you how you can take care of your skin and hair by using beer as the main ingredient. It is best if done at nighttime and/or when you have a holiday next day! You don’t want to head outside like a big can of beer and do not want people judging you on what you did last night! 😛

Things You Will Need

• Beer (Of course!)
Coffee powder
Lemon juice
• Sugar
• Coarsely powdered oats (or strawberries)
Rose water
• Honey or egg (Optional)
• Mayonnaise (or egg)
• Olive oil/Sweet almond oil/Jojoba oil

Head Massage and Steam

• In a bowl, add lemon juice, mayonnaise, olive oil (or oil of your choice) and add 2-3 tbsp of beer (you can alter the contents) and massage this onto shampooed hair. Massage slowly and gently on the scalp with your fingers and not nails! Massage for 10 minutes.

• Dip a towel in hot water and gently press on your head so that the pores open up. Alternately, you can use a steamer. Let the potion work its magic for 30-45 minutes.

• Once done, pour out beer in a bowl and keep aside, this is for the conditioner we use later, and the reason is to eliminate the fizz from the beer and make it flat!

Skin Care

• Cleanse
Start off by cleansing your face with lukewarm water and your favorite cleanser with 2-3 drops of beer added.

• Scrub
In a bowl, add coffee powder, sugar, coarsely ground oats, and beer. Make sure that the consistency is not very watery and is in semi liquid form. Apply this to face and neck, and massage gently in upward motion for 2-3 minutes. Make sure you be gentle as sugar can cause rashes on your face.

Leave it on for 5 minutes. And, then wash your face with lukewarm water while removing the residue in upward rotating motion.

• Face Pack
This is your choice depending on your skin type. I use Patanjali Multani Mitti added with 2-3 drops of beer, 2-3 drops of rose water and a pinch of turmeric. Once your face pack is dried, head to a bath!

• Shower
Turn on the shower and let some warm water pass touch your body so that the pores open up and the face pack becomes wet and easy to remove. Gently massage and remove the face pack. Use your favorite shampoo and wash your hair.

Conditioner

• Mix flat beer and 1-2tbsp of olive oil and use this mixture to massage on your hair (use the required quantity). Wash off your scalp with cold water and now take the remaining mixture and pour over your hair as a final rinse. You can add some lemon juice if you want.

During your bath: You can add some ground coffee powder that is leftover, add rose water and scrub your body. It is said that it gives a bronzy shine to your body.

Do not apply anything on your face, take few drops of beer, lemon juice and rose water and mix it. Dip a piece of cotton and apply to your face and let it sit overnight. The next morning, take a fresh bath with some mild/ no shampoo and feel the difference. You can do this once or twice a month. I do it in routine with another regime twice every month.

  1. yes Priyanka 😀 now we will not regret having cans of beer in fridge 😀 You can excuse telling its for my beautiul hair and skin 😛

  2. I have used beer on my hair many times and it makes it super shiny and frizz free, but just as a last rinse. Didn’t know it can be used in so many ways, especially on skin. Good to read this.
