Sleek Pout Paint in Pinkini – Review

Sleek Pout Paint in Pinkini

Hi everyone!

I’m back with another review for you all and this time it is on a makeup product, rather than a skincare item.

I’m going to be reviewing a Sleek Pout Paint, in the shade Pinkini. A while ago, Rati did a great post on Sleek Pout Paints on four different shades. So, I decided that I would write a review on it as I really like this product and this is the only shade I own.

Now let me get straight to the review!

Price: £ 4.99 for 8ml.

Claims: Pout Paint is a lip stain like no other! Providing lips with intense colour and a long-lasting finish, it’s the perfect product when you demand more colour. Pout Paint is made to be mixed, so the possibilities are endless.

My Take on Sleek Pout Paint in the Shade Pinkini:

This product is absolutely amazing and I have not come across anything quite like it! It has some seriously good colour payoff and so would be perfect for a bold lip makeup. Another amazing thing about this product is that it is also super affordable and you are getting more than what you pay for, with this product! Like the claims suggest, you can also mix it with other lip products to make your own custom lip colour!

I chose the shade Pinkini, which is a beautiful hot pink colour and I chose this particular shade because it was the one that stood out to me the most. It was so bright and colourful and pink is also one of my favourite colours!

However, all the other shades in this collection are lovely too and Sleek offers a very generous range of shades. There are 11 pout paint shades altogether, including Milkshake, Port, Peek-A-Boo, Peachy Keen, Cloud 9, Pin Up, Minx, Mauve Over, Rosette, Lava and of course, Pinkini.

Cloud 9, Peek-A-Boo and Lava are not designed to be worn alone, they can be mixed with the other shades to lighten, brighten or give warmth to the shades. The shades are pretty bold, not really designed for girls who like to wear subtle shades on their lips, but if you are a bold lip lover, then I’m sure you will find something to suit your interests!

So now, I’ll talk about the actual product.

Firstly, I’d like to talk about the packaging of this lip product. It comes in a small tube with a little nozzle applicator. This applicator is perfect for this product, because as it has such a small nozzle tip, only a tiny bit of product is squeezed out, which means less wastage.

As the claims suggest, this product is seriously pigmented, so only a little bit is needed for full coverage. To be honest, I would have preferred it if there had been an applicator with the product, because that would have definitely made applying the product a lot easier but then again, that’s what lip brushes are for!

Although the product size looks quite small, it really will last you a really long time and that is because only a little drop of this product is needed each time. The small size of the product also makes it very travel friendly. As for the consistency of this product, it is a liquid but not super runny and dries to a matte finish, however there is a slight sheen to it.

As I have mentioned, this product is very pigmented, however it can be sheered out. I take a dab on my fingers, get rid of the excess and press it onto my lips and this gives me slight colour that is great for an everyday look. This makes the product pretty versatile too.
A little warning here – this product is quite messy and it can get everywhere if you aren’t careful! That is why, when I choose to go for a bold lip with this product, I don’t use my fingers because it stains them, instead, I opt for a lip brush, which also gives me more control and precision.

Another great thing about this product is that it lasts ages on the lips. This is because once it is applied, it stains the lips and so it does not budge at all. The colour does slightly fade after a number of hours, but it is still very noticeable on the lips. One thing you might need to be careful about is that the product might spread slightly around the areas of the mouth, if it is not set properly so I always make sure I set it, by blotting my lips with a tissue.

I must mention though that I have had this product for around two years and I have not even used up half of it. I think recently, I have not been using this product as much as I did when I first got it, because my tastes have changed and I’m now more inclined to go for a lipstick or lip gloss because they are a lot easier and quicker to apply.

So I guess that is one downside of this product – it does take time and effort to apply so it’s not the best product to reach for if you are in a hurry. That being said, once applied, the results are amazing. Another thing that I have noticed since I have had this product for a long time, is that the consistency of the product slightly changes. When I first got it, the consistency was that of a thick liquid but now, it has become slightly runnier and I think it has become a little less pigmented.

I am not sure whether this happens to all pout paints over time, but I thought I would just let you all know that with my pout paint, the consistency did change a bit over time.

Would I Repurchase Sleek Pout Paint in the Shade Pinkini?

Probably not, not because I don’t like the product, but because I am struggling to finish my first tube!

Would I Recommend Sleek Pout Paint in the Shade Pinkini?

This is such a great product and well worth the price so if you think you could use this appropriately, I would definitely recommend you try it out!

IMBB Rating: 3.5/ 5.

So overall, this product is really great but there are some aspects of it, such as the fact that it takes time to apply and the change in consistency, which has caused me to give the product a lower rating.
