Soap and Glory The Righteous Body Butter Review

I am back with another review after a short break. I was unwell for quite some time, so took some time off from work and rested for a couple of days. I however didn’t stop using any of my beloved products, so I am back yet again with another Soap and Glory product review, this time “The Righteous Body Butter.” I got it in a 50 ml travel version from “kit cosmetics” which is the only place where Soap and Glory products are sold in Australia. However, the whole range is not available and I have to rely on friends and relatives to get me Soap and Glory products after I fell in love with them.

Most of the Soap and Glory products have impressed me in the past and read further to see how this one scores.

Product Description and Claims:

Award winning body butter with softening shea butter and aloe vera. Smooth on a handful after your shower and you might swear you are wearing velvet. Scented with our Original Pink™ fragrance. The original pink fragrance is also found in the “Clean On Me Shower Gel,” Flake away body scrub as well as the Girligo moisturising mist. Original pink * is one of the fragrance lines from soap and glory the other being “Mist You Badly.”

Instructions For Use:

After showering or bathing, smooth a generous handful of The Righteous Butter onto damp skin and massage lightly until it all sinks in.
(I personally do not use a “generous handful” only because this is expensive online/in Australia and is quite difficult to get ).

Price:

I got this as part of the soaper Heros gift set for AUD 35. Works out to around Aud 6-8.

My Experience with Soap and Glory The Righteous Body Butter:

Fragrance is a personal thing, but I do love the original pink* fragrance. I have got a lot of positive comments, so I believe most people will like it. This comes in a cute pink tub; however, the full size has more attractive packaging as it has a picture of a lady (with a smooth back). The travel size I got does not contain any picture as such. The texture of the butter is comparable to The Body Shop dry-very dry skin body butter and is pure white in colour. Even though the consistency is a little bit thick, it spreads easily and does not leave any grease at all. If I wanted, I could dress immediately after applying this body butter, but I prefer to just wait for a couple of minutes only because I do not want to waste the product.

The fragrance notes contained are –strawberries, mandarin, bergamot along with a bit of amber and musk and vanilla. I always scrub my body either with a body scrub or a loofah before using this product and as a result, this sinks right in to my skin. The fragrance lasts quite a bit on my skin if I wanted I could even skip perfume. However, this does not last long on my friend’s skin (I bought it for her because she loved it on me and always compliments).I don’t know the reason for this though, its strange.

This fares well as a moisturiser and does what it says. It moisturises my normal skin as well as my dry bits adequately and makes my skin soft and smooth with regular use. Contains moisturising goodies such as cocoa seed butter, coconut oil and rose seed oil.

Pros of Soap and Glory The Righteous Body Butter:

I love the fragrance – it is said to be very similar to Dior Miss Cherie perfume.
Moisturises well without leaving skin greasy.
Has a range of products available from the same fragrance family for layering.
The fragrance lasts quite long, even though it becomes subtle after some time.
Absolutely drool worthy cute pink vintage packaging.

Cons of Soap and Glory The Righteous Body Butter:

Contains parabens and many other chemicals when compared to body butters from The Body Shop.
Tub packaging might be unhygienic unless a spatula is used.
This is a no-no for individuals who shun highly fragranced products.
