Hello everyone,

Hope you are enjoying your day! Today, I am reviewing a face scrub cleanser from one of my favorite brands – St. Ives. This is the St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub.

Product Description:

From Canada’s #1 Scrub Brand, this award winning Apricot Scrub with 100% Natural Derived Exfoliants deep cleans, instantly leaving skin smooth and glowing.

Key Ingredients:

St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub

Apricot:

Apricots are known to contain one of the highest levels of carotenoids (vitamin A) and supper-effective antioxidants. All of this natural power might seem, well, too powerful, but they are actually quite gentle and nourishing and they help make fresher, more nourished skin beautifully possible.

Corn Kernel Meal:

Corn Kernel Meal is actually flour ground from dried corn. It’s a soft, but gently powerful all-natural exfoliant that promotes skin cell turnover and regeneration. Cornmeal makes softer-feeling, fresher skin possible.

Walnut:

Walnut is known for its hard shell, but when it’s ground, it becomes an amazingly effective, all-natural exfoliant ingredient in our scrubs. Not only are walnuts plentiful on the planet, they also help newer, healthier skin come to the surface.

My Experience with St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub:

Most of us might have used one or the other version of St. Ives Apricot scrub and love it for sure! It is the same with me. I am a fan of St. Ives scrubs and when I noticed this new variant of their Apricot scrub, I had to give it a try.

The St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub comes in a squeezy tube with a flip cap. The cap closes tightly and makes it a trouble free option to carry with you when you travel.

The scrub is cream in color with light brown exfoliating particles. It has a very mild pleasant smell. St. Ives has scrubs falling under three exfoliation levels – Gentle, Moderate and Deep. This apricot scrub falls under the “Deep” category. The exfoliating particles in this scrub (walnut shell powder and corn kernel meal) are larger than the other scrubs, say the Green Tea scrub or the Pink Lemon and Mandarin Orange scrub, which have a moderate exfoliation level.

St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub

At the first glance, you may feel that the exfoliating particles may be too rough or harsh, but the scrub does an excellent job of exfoliating. I feel like a dull top layer has been removed and it really brightens up the face. The cream (with apricot extract) that binds these particles together is quite hydrating and leaves the skin feeling oh-so-soft! I am really surprised and happy with the results!

The directions specify that this product should be used 3 to 4 times a week for “best results!” But I feel that might be too much, even for my oily skin! I use it once a week. On alternate days, I use one of the other moderate exfoliating scrubs. This works well for me, keeping my skin looking fresh and bright. But this may be a bit harsh for people with sensitive skin.

As with all St. Ives cleansers, this apricot scrub too is paraben free and oil free and the exfoliants used are 100% naturally derived.

Pros of St. Ives Fresh Skin Apricot Scrub:

  • Easy to use, hygienic and travel-friendly packaging.
  • Paraben free.
