Stila All Over Liquid Luminizer in Kitten Review

Stila All Over Liquid Luminizer in Kitten

Product Purchased by IMBB

Hey Guys!

Today I’ll be reviewing another popular liquid luminizer, and this one’s by Stila. Lately, I’ve been finding myself gravitating more toward liquid highlighters and have realized that not all of them are created equal. There are some that look very natural and make you look luminous, while with others it’s easy to look like you emptied a bottle of glitter on your face while attempting to look like a disco ball. To see which category this falls into, read on!

Product Description and Price

Stila’s All Over liquid Luminizer is “a lightweight, skin-enhancing liquid luminizer that highlights and adds luster to the skin.” It contains “soft- focus pigments, which help diminish the appearance of fine lines and skin imperfections, a potent antioxidant, and grape seed oil to condition and nourish the skin.” The product is “ideal for all skin types, a deluxe brush tip makes application a breeze and leaves skin with a dewy, luminous glow.”
It contains no parabens, sulfates, synthetic dyes, petrochemicals, phthalates, GMOs, or triclosan.

My Experience with Stila’s All Over Liquid Luminizer in Kitten

Stila’s liquid luminzer comes in four different shades, and I went in to Sephora with the intention of picking the bronze version up. My store was out of that particular shade, so I ended picking my second choice, which was Kitten shimmer. Before I had tried it, I thought Kitten shimmer is a cool toned, vanilla shade. After all, that’s what it looks like in the bottle. However, once I swatched it, I saw that it’s more of a shimmery beige, that when applied looks like a very pale gold shimmer on my skin. This was definitely a pleasant surprise, as Kitten shimmer was more flattering on my NC40 (tan, warm undertone) skin than I expected it to be.
This shimmer comes in a small, glass bottle that looks exactly like a nail polish bottle (in fact it reminds me of MAC’s nail polish packaging). It comes with a brush, which can be used to apply the luminizer. I like the idea of the brush, but it always ends up picking up too much product for me to use it to brush on the luminizer on my face. I usually use the brush to dab the product on my face and then blend it with a brush or my fingers.

I use this a couple of different ways: mixed into my foundation, an all-over highlighter on top of my foundation, and as a highlighter on my cheeks, cupids bow, brow bone and forehead. I mix this into my foundation almost every day for work. It adds a soft glow to my face, which looks very natural and makes me look healthy and radiant even when I haven’t had a lot of sleep. The shimmer is very fine and mixes easily into the foundation. This luminizer, although lighter than my skin tone, does not make my foundation lighter or make my skin look paler or unnatural. Sometimes, usually in the evenings, I wear it on top of my foundation, all over my face. This, too, gives my skin a really great glow and makes my skin look perfectly dewy.

I also use this to highlight select areas of my face such as my cheekbones, cupids now, brow bone and forehead too. Applying the product is a total breeze. It goes on sheer and is buildable. It is very blendable and once I’ve put it on, it doesn’t budge. The product adheres to my foundation and stays on all day until I’m ready to take my makeup off. What I love most about this product is that it gives skin a subtle glow, which never looks overdone. It’s always my fear that my skin will end up looking oily or greasy with the use of liquid highlighters; this never makes my skin look that way. If you’re looking to experiment with liquid highlighters, but are scared that it might look to unnatural on you, try this product out. It’s really hard to go wrong with it!
