If you have checked my review on Lime Crime Velvetine in Rustic, you would have read my mini rant on the pricing of the lipsticks vis-a-vis the quantity of product. Some comparative pricing information is listed below:
Huda Beauty Liquid Matte – $20 – 5ml
Kat Von D Everlasting – $20 – 6.6ml
Lime Crime Velvetines – $20 – 2.6gms
Stila All Day Liquid Lipstick – $24 – 3 gms – which makes it one of the most expensive offerings around – within similar brands.

Packaging:
Stila All Day liquid Lipsticks come packaged just like any other liquid lipstick – a transparent tube with a doe-foot applicator. The tube comes packaged in a brown cardboard box with a window – helps to identify the shade easily – even within the box. The packaging is quite minimalistic – a far cry for the Kylie and Huda lipsticks. The only major point of difference and pain between the Stila packaging and the rest of the world seems to be their doe-foot applicator. The applicator wand itself is okay, but the sponge tip is softer and more bendy. While the idea behind it may have been ease of application around the curves of the mouth, in my experience, it has quite the opposite effect. With the applicator having give, it actually makes lining the lips more difficult because you are not able to go precise. It requires more attention and precision to ensure that the tip does not bend under slightest pressure of your hand and go outside the lip line. Not a good idea – when you are working with pigmented shades – or trying to outline your thin lips. For clean, precise lines, you are left with no choice but to go in with a lip brush.

My Experience with Stila Fiore Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick:

This is one of my older purchases from Stila – my first foray with liquid lipstick – actually, second foray. The first was probably Giorgio Armani Lip Maestros. The fact that I didn’t pick more after these for a very long time – till liquid lipsticks became huge – will kind of give you a clue as to where we are heading with this review 🙂

Shade:  The shade “Fiore” is a bright, “in your face,” almost neonish – cool-toned pink! It is really really bright and since it is a liquid lipstick, you can’t just slap it on and dash out of the house. Nope! You have to be careful with the application. Once on, it will outshine everything else, so you have to keep everything toned down. Funny, I say that  because my EOTD is the exact opposite of “toned down.” I literally have silver on my eyes! Can’t get more blingy than that. Honestly, the EOTD came about while testing and photographing different products – all at the same time! You know how it is – when you are running behind schedule with your demo photographs, so you practically use every single product in that one look! So… bear with me, but the point I wanna make is that a colour like this will outshine everything else (except silver on your lids!!) – of course.

Texture:  The formula of this one is a bit like that of Amore – it’s a light creamy-to-liquid formula which sets into a matte finish; however, unlike Tesoro, this one isn’t thick or drying. It’s fairly okay to wear and does not make you reach for the balm. Through the entire wear, it remains comfortable and it does not get dry or clingy.

As is with such liquid lipsticks, the formula is pretty transfer proof – till you subject it to oil.

Pigmentation: The pigmentation of this one is off. For one, it’s not opaque in a single swipe. Well, neither was Amore. But in case of Amore – the feel of the lipstick was translucent. In case of Fiore, it looks more patchy than translucent because the pigment doesn’t distribute evenly. It collects and you have to go in with a second/third swipe to make the pigment appear evenly distributed. You could use a lip liner with this lipstick, it would help, but will not work in giving even-ness. It will just give a better base to the lipstick. The problem with pigment collecting will still remain.

Lasting Power:  The product pretty much stays put through light snacks and beverages. You can easily get 7 hours plus wear with it, but once you eat a heavier meal, the formula will break down – starts transferring and starts getting patchy. The patchiness in a shade like this looks absolutely horrendous because the shade is bright and everything becomes more obvious, so I would advice to refrain from heavy food with this one.

Fragrance: There is a distinct sweet fragrance…a tad bit nauseating. The good thing is that it’s not too loud and dissipates fairly quickly. It could definitely be an issue for someone who has a sensitive nose.

Application: The “bendiness” of the doe-foot applicator becomes very difficult to manage with a shade as bright as this. Try as I might, I couldn’t get clean lines, so I was left with little choice but to go in with a lip brush.

Pros of Stila Fiore Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick:

  • A bright shade – not necessarily unique.
  • No feathering or bleeding.
  • Decent packaging.
  • Easy to identify colour from the tube itself.
  • Decent wear time 6-7 hours plus.
  • Light texture.
  • Transfer proof.
  • Fairly comfortable on the lips.

Cons of Stila Fiore Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick:

  • The applicator tip should have been sturdier instead of having a give.
  • Fragrance could be an issue for some.
  • Considering the pricing and the quantity ratio – one of the most expensive liquid lipsticks in the market.
  • Pigmentation is not great – looks patchy while applying as the pigment collects in pockets instead of evenly distributing.

IMBB Rating:
A 3/5 product.

I can’t recommend this shade, it’s an average at best. In terms of uniqueness of the shade, the pigmentation, the wear, the application – it leaves a lot to desire. There are much better products in the market and you would eb able to get a bright pink easily enough in any other collection. It’s a pass.
