Stila One Step Skin Tone Correcting and Brightening Serum Review

My Experience with Stila One Step Skin Tone Correcting and Brightening Serum:

Packaging:  I like the travel-friendly and simple packaging with a pump dispenser. The 3 colors are swirled inside and come out all mixed. The green is to eliminate redness, lavender and peach are to brighten complexion and diminish appearance of sunspots.

Texture and Application:  This primer is very smooth and creamy, and does not feel silicone-y. It spreads easily, but I do have some difficulty to make it look even on the skin. Since it does impart a bit of a hue of the 3 colors swirled inside it, I do have to rub it a lot or use a sponge to make it look even and not patchy.  It absorbs and sets quickly without any residue on the skin; makes my skin feel smooth and soft. It does not provide a lot of hydration for my dry skin type, but it is enough for summer time, when I usually opt for something lightweight, but come winter time, I might need to use a good moisturizer underneath.

Results:

This primer does impart some color which makes the complexion look brighter and more radiant. It does counteract redness and makes my skin look more even. It makes my makeup glide on smoothly and improves wear time. If you have fairly clear skin, I feel like you can use this primer on its own and you are good for the day. It did not make my face shiny or my foundation crack or slide all day. I feel like it makes for a very good base under makeup.

Though it does diminish the look of pores and fine lines to some extent (I do not have problematic pores to begin with, so it is good enough for me). It does not perform as good as silicone-based primers hence for those specifically looking to address those concerns, this might not be for you. I did not feel that this foundation clogged my pores or irritated my skin.

Overall, I love how this product gives a light coverage and brightens and evens out my skin while feeling super comfortable.  It also improves the wear time and look of my foundation when worn as a primer. I feel like it also provides enough hydration for normal skin type and will suit mostly all skin types. I will recommend this.

• Kind of expensive for the small bottle.
• You need to work it into the skin to make it look even on the skin. Applies blotchy unless blended with a sponge.
