Colorbar Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen

Hi all, today I am going to review a product which is not a necessity in our makeup kit, but something which can give us a glow and radiant look. It is the Colorbar Highlighter – Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen, which promises to impart a dewy look, which in turns gives a glowing effect to the face.

In this post I am going to review the pros and cons and my experience with the Colorbar Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen.  I had ordered the Radiant Glow Highlighter through their website. They do have shipping facility with minimum shipping cost. For Chennai, they charged me only 30/- rupees, but the standard of their packaging made me feel bad. You can very well check the picture given below for the way the product was packed by the Colorbar people.

Apart from the shabby packaging, the product is awesome. So, if you wish to order the product online, please do check the availability of the product with other websites also. If you still wish to opt for Colorbar website, then you won’t have any chance to predict when the product will reach you because they don’t have any options for tracking.

This how the product came, without any envelope, and with an invoice showing my purchase.

Here’s what the Company Claims about their Colorbar Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen:

“Banish the dull and tired look forever with the Radiant Glow Face Illuminator. A one of a kind product in India, this face highlighter gives the complexion a vibrant and perky look. The Radiant Glow Face Illuminator enhances makeup and brightens the complexion, giving the face a natural glow.”

425 INR for 2.2 ml.

Expiry Date:

Shade:  Glamour.

Ingredients are a list of chemical names which is all greek and latin to me. Never Mind! The brand name always speaks for itself and thankfully, I didn’t get any allergic reaction or patches on my face.

Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen is in the form of a ball point pen which releases the fluid when tapped slightly. A soft bristle replaces the nip of the pen which can be directly applied to the face.

My Experience with Colorbar Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen:

I was actually looking for a product that could give me glowing skin, which my facials and bleaching won’t give me whenever I wished. I came to know about this product through IMBB.  Now, I have started to use this product regularly.  It does not turn my skin oily after I apply it.  Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen does not create any patches or streaks after drying.  You can rely on this for a naturally glowing skin.

Here’s how I use the illuminator pen:

• I first tap the pen slightly to get a little bit of the highlighter fluid out.
• With the help of a Q-tip, I apply it on my cheek bones, nose, and chin.
• Then, with the help of my hands, I blend it well with my makeup.
• Ta-da and I am done!!!!

Positives of Colorbar Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen:

• It is totally worth the money, it doesn’t have too many glitter particles, so it gives a natural glow.
• Price is quite okay, it is not too expensive.

Negatives of Colorbar Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen:

• Packaging is very poor.
• Shipping charge is low.  Actually, this won’t be a plus because of the less shipping cost, the product was packed and shipped in a shabby manner.

Overall Verdict:

Except for the poor packaging from Colorbar website, the product itself doesn’t have any negative points. I will surely buy this product again and I will also recommend this to my friends.

Colorbar Lipstick – 022 Champagne

Hi beauties

Today, I am going to review one of the lipsticks which I got an year back. I have a major problem with buying lipsticks, when I check the shade at the counter, it seems just so perfect and when I come home and apply the same, the colour seems to have changed so much and this has happened to me not once or twice, but most of the time. I am disheartened to the extent that I have not bought any new lipstick since the last 8 months, yes, you all read it right, last 8 months

Okay, coming back to the lipstick, which I am going to review today, please read on further to know about the same.

Product Being Reviewed:

Colorbar Lipstick 022 Champagne.

Price/ Packaging/ Quantity:

I don’t remember the price exactly; I guess it was around 200 rupees. It comes in a rectangle kind of lipstick case. The actual colour is encapsulated in the end, which makes the shade easier to recognize. The cap is sturdy square plastic, which clicks shut when closed, quite a sturdy packaging and the cap won’t open on its own. I am not a big fan of the packaging as I like my lipsticks to be sleek and more feminine, this one isn’t. The quantity for the same is 4.2 gm.

Ingredients:

Nowhere written on the website. In fact, I could not find any information on this website, I guess these have been discontinued.

My Take on Colorbar Lipstick 022 Champagne:

It is a brown-coloured lipstick with blackish undertones. I have always been a huge fan of coffee shades, but this one is on the darker side of brown. The lipstick does not have any shine or gloss or shimmer. Also, these are not too moisturising, its better to apply lip balm underneath. One application is enough to give your lips true colour as these lipsticks are pigmented nicely. It stays on my lips for 2-3 hours after which it starts to fade. One good thing is that it fades evenly leaving behind a tinge of muddy brown colour. Another thing which I like about this is that the lipstick is devoid of any fragrance. I don’t like lipsticks to smell heavenly, for that, I have enough number of perfumes:P.

Coming to its texture, it is neither soft nor rough, though it glides on the lips smoothly. It does not settle in the fine lines nor does it bleed. It is a daily wear lipistick with nothing extraordinary about it.

Pros of Colorbar Lipstick 022 Champagne:

1. It neither bleeds nor settles in the fine lines.
2. It does not have any fragrance.
3. Nicely pigmented.
4. Glides smoothly on the lips.

Cons of Colorbar Lipstick 022 Champagne:

1. Staying power is not good.
2. Does not provide moisturisation to the lips, a lip balm has to be used underneath.

IMBB Rating:

3 out of 5.

Will I Buy Again?

No, I will not. Neither have I liked the shade nor is the quality too impressive. I think my loyalty remains towards soft touch lipsticks from Colorbar.

Colorbar Liquid Addiction Lipstick Pink Toffee

Hi Beauties, today I will be reviewing my very first and favorite lipstick from Colorbar, i.e., Colorbar Liquid Addiction Lipstick Pink Toffee. Till IMBB happened, I didn’t own a single lipstick and always used lip balms. Once while shopping with friends, I came across Colorbar counter and my friend started trying a few of their lipsticks. Now reading IMBB, I was aware of their range and thought to give it a try myself. As I have medium and warm skin tone, I always am comfortable with nude colors. So, when the SA started swatching, I loved the texture and look of this color, but still I was confused as I find all colors very nice on my hand, but when I wear them, most of the times, I am not comfortable, so the SA applied the lipstick on my lips and I immediately fell in love with it!

The packaging of these is nice, very sturdy for traveling as well. I had no issues with the cap breaking or coming off. I think they have 10 shades available in this collection and the color of the outer cover of the lipstick changes according to the color of the lipstick, which I think is pretty good idea for identifying the lipsticks! The shade names are mentioned on the bottom of the lipstick with their numbers. You need to twist the bottom and color comes up on the applicator.

The color I am reviewing today is Pink Toffee and its a gorgeous pinkish brownish color perfectly suitable for all type of skin tones. Though there isn’t lot of pink in it, but just a tinge of it. Its a gorgeous nude color for office wear and goes well with all type of dresses and colors. It does not have any shimmer, but since its a liquid lipstick, it does moisturizes your lips very well! I have never faced any dry or chapped lips problem with this one! The staying power is not that great, it stays on my lips for 2 to 3 hours easily, but not more! I don’t mind reapplying my lipstick every 3 to 4 hours, so its ok for me, but if you are looking for long-stay lipstick, then this is definitely not for you.

Price:

Rs. 425/-.

Pros:

• Its very moisturizing on my lips and does not dry out my lips at all.
• Color is very gorgeous nude for everyday and office wear.
• Color is suited for all skin tones.
• It can also work as a lip balm
• The packaging is very sturdy for traveling.
• Its easily available at all colorbar counters

Cons:

• I think its a little bit on the expensive side.
• The staying power is not that great.
• The shade range is pretty limited to brownish colors, so if you are looking for pinks and peaches, you’d probably be disappointed.

Will I Purchase it Again?

Absolutely yes, it works very well for my everyday office wear, but would love to try similar liquid lipsticks from other brands, any suggestions?

Street Wear Glitz & Glam Nail Color Dupe, Review, Swatches

Hi ladies, I am elated to tell you guys that I have finally found a decent colorbar counter in Chennai after my separation form colorbar for almost a year and a half I think my Chennai readers would know that Colorbar is available in saravana stores t.nagar but having feared the traffic condition I never went there. On top of that, the seven storey store is always crowded and the entrance is choked with shoppers, it truly makes shopping “a sweat experience” never the less I was sure the makeup counters will not be that busy (I donno why I just assumed) I was ecstatic to know that there was good Colorbar counter at least with loads of Colorbar velvet matte/creamy matte lippies and the neon and cream nail colors in had wanted .

What I got is a secret and will be reviewed gradually but they did not have those lip pots (or whatever the name is )nor the concealer pots :/ but what they did have from the somewhat new release is the concealer pencils in some four colors and I was very happy to find them but I did not pick up any as I was too busy to keep abreast of the new creamy matte lippies Frrm the nail paints I got a couple of them but mainly a dupe of my very favourite street wear color called GLITZ & GLAM I had no idea about the new Colorbar ones and the moment I saw this I had to get it as my street wear one is on the verge of finishing .

Street Wear glitz and glam: I got this color last year from big bazaar and tough these have been modified into newer bottles, I saw that this shade was very much available. its like a khaki shade with shimmer finish .It is thick in consistency but goes absolutely opaque in one coat. Tow coats will not be essentially necessary unless you want to wear it for a week . One coat would easily last you three days without chipping. The color is a gorgeous khaki green and suits Indian outfits well but I love to wear it anyday. The thing that I like about this is that it is very thick and goes opaque in one go. The brush is decent enough I don’t see a problem with it . for 75 rupees it has delivered what I wanted.

Colorbar exclusive 60: This is a close dupe to my favourite glitz & glam. I got this recently and so have been able to test it very less but I can never doubt the quality of Colorbar nail paints and its by far my most favourite Indian cosmetic brand . this color 60 had more of a yellow golden shimmer to it rather than just golden like the glitz and glam above. This one runny in consistency though and the brush is long and wide so I don’t see a problem with that . In fact I quite like the tall brush handle and I find it very convenient the only problem with this one in comparison to the above is that it is thinner and would need two coats for a good opaque finish . I love this one too as I love all khaki colored makeup for a 9 ml quantity the price is decent and I wouldn’t mind the two coats . With a good shelf life of three years, im glad I picked It up.

The concealer is available in 9 shades and I am sure there is one made for every skin tone.

The shade that I have is creamy natural 002. The SA offered me shade 001 and applied it on my hand & tried to convince me that it is the right shade for me. I asked her to give me all the testers she had and I would apply it on my dark circles myself. I applied shade 001 under one eye & 002 on the other and checked myself in natural day light. Shade 001 was bit too light on me and it was making my under eye area too bright & it looked very OTT-over the top
So , I bought shade 002 which looked better on me.

PACKGING
The concealer comes in a cute glass pot with a silver cap. The packaging is exactly like their lip pots.

INGREDIENTS

HOW TO APPLY
The best way to apply this product is with fingertips as it will warm up the product before application. Then pat lightly onto the places where you need to cover & slowly blend the edges away for smooth finish. In a rush, Small strokes with finger tips will also do the trick. Can also be applied with a firm brush or latex sponge.

I got this vanity pouch from colorbar as I had purchased from the counter products above Rs.900. I have already stuffed it with my makeup essentials for my trip

MY EXPERIENCE WITH THE PRODUCT

As claimed this concealer does provide full coverage and hides dark circles, blemishes, acne spots completely. The consistency is somewhat creamy but not super creamy like colorbar;s stick form concealer. I had to make a little effort to blend this in my skin completely, but once you are done the result is amazing. I tried applying/blending it with a concealer brush and finger tips both, and felt that it is easier to work with your finger tips than with a brush. Being non greasy & oil free the concealer is apt for ladies with combination to oily skin. Once set with some compact or loose powder the concealer stays on for good 5-6 hours without fading. Also, since the formula is non comedogenic it does not break out my skin or block my pores, so I can also easily use it to conceal my breakouts. The only thing that I didn’t like much about the concealer is the pot type packaging. it gets really difficult to dig out the product with fingers, and if you have long nails, you will end up feeding them up with some good amount of concealer :P

• The pot type packaging makes it a little difficult to use and dig out the product. .
• Not very travel friendly.
• Takes a while to blend in completely.
• A little expensive.
• Not easily available across colorbar counters.
• Contains parabens.

Claims : Pamper your lips with this deliciously, syurpy lip color. Cushiony and wet, it optically plumps your lips for a sexy plushy pout you’ll will become addicted to ! Comfortable and emollient. Lips that look lush, plush and gorgeous ( there is more fancy claim to it but guess this much information would do. Phew! :)

What I love about Colorbar Lip pot :

• Pigmentation : It is amazingly pigmented. You get completely opaque color with just one swipe of brush.
• Color : Coral Crush is peachy warm toned coral. Easy to pull off. Would work on various skintones.
• Staying Power : It stays on my lips for around 5 hours. Even after full meal the color is there on my lips. It gets a little lighter than usual but it is there completely on my lips.
• Comfortable Wear : it does not dry out my lips and feels amazingly comfortable even after hours of wear.
• It has creamy gel like texture that goes on easily on your lips.
• Does not smudge or smear.
• Comes sealed. Highly appreciable.
• Has a vanilla kinda fragrance and a little cosmetic (y)  flavour to it but that is not too bothersome for me.
• Does not settle in fine lines.
• Has 6 gm of product in a pot , which is quite a lot.
• Available in 6 lovely colors for various skin tones. check HERE
• Does not go streaky on lips. I have applied it using both Q tip and a lip brush. With Q tip you have to even out the application with your finger tips.
• It has a nice glossy shine but after meals it gives soft matte finish.It can easily be worn on day to day basis because the glossiness is not over powering.
•  The pot is tiny and light so it can easily be carried around.
• Is “almost ” non transferable. No embarrassing lipstick stains on glasses.

The only drawback would be that it comes in a pot form so you have to apply it using a brush all the time.

I am definitely picking up another shade from this range .

ColorBar Creamy Matte Lipstick 032 Tangerina

Hello beauties

Today I am going to review ColorBar matte 032 tangerina.

This is a bright orange shade with golden shimmer. All of you must have seen the scooty pepe advertisement where the girl puts that orange lipstick matching her scooty pep. Well I was searching for a similar shade. I knew Elle 18 must be having it but it’s really difficult to get elle18 in Mumbai. I must have tried each and every brand in the mall. Lakme, Maybelline, Revlon, l’oreal….you name it. I was so frustrated with the whole day of searching :cry: So when the SA in colour bar showed me this. I just picked this up . It is not the shade I was searching for, but still at least it’s orange :haanji:

Last week Tommy was asking about a dupe for elle18’s poppy rush. I feel this is very similar (just a shade bright :struggle:) to that one. so thought of reviewing it for all of you. :cheers:

Price: sorry I don’t remember. I guess around 200-250 INR for 4.2 g

There is no claim mentioned on the tube. It comes with a transparent plastic cover.

Packaging: It comes in a rectangular transparent plastic casing. You can easily see the silver colored plastic tube, housing the lipstick inside through the transparent casing. At the bottom, the lipstick housing tube is transparent to give you a look of the color inside. The packaging is quite sturdy and the lipstick snaps shut with a click ensuring the cap is closed. It’s quite travel friendly and it will stay safe inside your bag without braking or opening itself.

Colour: As you can see its bright orange shade. But on application it comes off very nicely. You can use it as a day wear/evening wear /night wear as per your preference. Generally I use it as a day wear lippy.
It has a mild smell which you can easily ignore.

Texture: like the name suggests it’s really creamy. Glides on smoothly but somehow It doesn’t feel like a matte lipstick, with all the shimmer. It’s moisturizing as long as it is on your lips. One more thing I like is it does not settle into fine lines and the lips appear smooth for the whole time you have it on.

Pigmentation: It’s very much pigmented with a sheer finish which I really like. It covers the lip in a single swipe. However If you need more colour you need to swipe it more than once. For me, I like the subtle shade that comes with a single swipe (check out the shade on my lips) . With these obvious shimmers (you can see the picture with flash on) it becomes too much for day wear if swiped more than once.

Staying Power: The lasting power is not very good. It starts to fade after 3-4 hrs with eating and drinking. But it fades evenly and leaves behind a very nice tinge of orange. So even if you don’t do touch ups it’s not going to look bad and if you do, then well and good.

Pros of “032 tangerina creamy matte lipstick”:
1. Sturdy packaging.
2. Smooth and creamy. Glides easily.
3. Love the pigmentation.
4. Doesn’t bleed around the corners.
5. Even when it fades it fades evenly giving your lips a natural tinge.
6. Does not dry my lips.
7. Reasonably priced for the quality and quantity.

Cons of “032 tangerina creamy matte lipstick”:
1. I don’t like the very obvious golden shimmers. It would have been more easily wearable without those.
2. Lasting power is not very good.

My rating 3.75 out of 5

The final verdict
It’s a really nice and different shade. It’ll suit people with fair to wheatish complexion. I would definitely pick this up again…but let me finish this up first.

Colorbar has come up with these lovely lip pot. These are gorgeous.

Price : Rs 495 for 6 gm

They have launched these lip pots in 6 colors.

The texture is semi liquidy and super buttery. They have a medium glossy shine. And they are highly pigmented, would give you almost opaque coverage.

006 Coral Crush : It is a very pretty peachy coal color. I would be a my lips but better color for a few and warm toned peachy coraly shade fro those with lighter to medium skin tones.

005 Toffee Tango : It is medium peachy brown color. This might be a nude color for medium to dusky skin tones. It’s pretty.

009 Pink Velvet : This ia slightly mauve toned pink. Reminded me of MAC Cosmo lipstick. Would work on almsot all skintones except may be very dusky ones.

Warm Me Up 001 : It is a brown with a hint of mauve undertones to it.

Yummpy Plummy : A deep wine plum color.

Cherry Pop 017 : A cherry red, the kinds that would instantly brighten up your complexion.

None of these have shimmer. The only glitch is the price and since these are lip pots, your’d have to use them with a lip brush.  But each color is beautiful itself. If you have pigmented lips and you find it difficult to get colors for yourself, these are great.

COLORBAR INSTANT COVERUP STICK REVIEW

The day Rati did a post on re launch of colorbar concealers, I was sure I had to get this. Firstly because I had seen/heard such great reviews about colorbar concealers, secondly I am already using its triple act compact for base makeup and love that too… check my review HERE

WHAT THE COMPANY CLAIMS ABOUT THE PRODUCT

The official colorbar site has no updates about this product. So, here’s what the package says

•  Chamomile for soothing and vitamin c for anti oxidant benefits
•  Soft and creamy with high color payoff
•  Handy for instant concealing.

PACKAGING
The packaging of the concealer is typical of colorbar products.  SILVER/GREY .

This concealer comes in a chubby stick type pencil – reminds me of NYX jumbo pencils ☺ I like the whole idea of a concealer in a pencil form, looks cute and is uber convenient to use.

INGREDIENTS

Price: Rs 425 for 1.6 gm

They have launched 3 shades in the concealers:
001 Apricot Crush – light
002 Caramel Treat – Medium
003 Almond Coffee – Dark

The shade that I got is 001 Apricot crush- light .

When I use this concealer with my colorbar triple act compact, the overall result is awesome. The shades of both the products are complimentary and merge in well nicely.

MY TAKE ON THE PRODUCT

This colorbar concealer is an excellent product in my opinion. I have used it just 3 times till date and I am all for it , No wonder, this concealer is highly recommended by so many makeup lovers.

The formula is indeed very creamy; would sound like a cliché but it does blend in like a dream into the skin without much effort. I like the change in the packaging from its retractable stick form to this pencil form making the concealer very handy, convenient to use and apt for spot concealing. Hence, the name- instant cover-up stick

The new packaging also scores over jar type concealers in terms of hygiene.

Ok, I just dot this for concealing my under eye dark circles, some post acne scars and corners of my lips & nose and gently pat and blend in the concealer with my ring finger. I always preferred to conceal before applying my base makeup but I have noticed that concealing after applying your foundation gives a little better result.

Coming to its coverage, I would say this provides medium-full coverage depending upon how you use it .

I used the concealer also to cover some of my fresh breakouts and it didn’t irritate them . The staying power of the concealer is about 3-4 hours, after which it may start melting off due to its creamy consistency. If you have extremely oily skin I would suggest setting this with some loose powder .

Overall, it’s a great product for your vanity in an equally nice new avatar (packaging) :D (I can’t really compare this from its previous form in terms of quality as I have not used that.)

WHAT IS GOOD ABOUT COLORBAR INSTANT COVERUP STICK

• Super creamy formula blends in without much effort.
• Ease of application being pencil form.
• Very travel friendly, handy and apt for spot concealing.
• Being pencil form, the tip has to be sharpened off after a few applications, which is good keeping the hygiene perspective in mind.
• Great for concealing under eye dark circles because of the yellow/warm undertone.
• Does not irritate or harm when used over break outs.
• Provides medium-full coverage.

WHAT IS NOT SO GOOD ABOUT COLORBAR INSTANT COVERUP STICK

• The formula being super creamy, may melt down soon in hot and humid conditions or if you have really oily skin
• Is a little expensive  :( @ INR 425
• With Just 3 shades available, it may not fit well with some shin tones.
• I didn’t feel any soothing effect as per its claims.
• Sharpening leads to product wastage
• Availability is an issue; I rarely come across colorbar counters.
