Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Pretty Please Review

Today, I am going to review for you “Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick” in Pretty Please.  More than a year ago, I got my first two products from Colorbar – an all-over body shimmer and a lip gloss. But somehow none struck a chord with me, the shimmer was still all right, but the lip gloss was gooey, messy, and sticky.

As a beauty novice, I vowed never to venture that way again!  I was never much of a lipstick person, mostly because all my lipstick hauls have been disastrous.  My search for my MLBB shade, a rosy pink or a suitable red have all gone down the drain and I had promised my glaring mom never to get lipsticks for me as they don’t suit me.

However, IMBB addicts are not such losers and that’s what I discovered After reading so many Colorbar appraisals here, I decided to give another try, maybe I was always looking for the wrong shade and finally, I got mine.

The nice SA (mostly they are bored or clueless) swatched some coral and orangey shades on my hand in spite of me protesting that I wanted a candy pink or a nude brown shade (yeah well those shades usually look so nice on light-skinned women).  She insisted that I wear the coral shade as my natural lip colour is a bit on the reddish side and then make a decision.

And lo and behold! I gaped as I saw my face transform into a brighter version covering the little pigmentation of my lips, looking smooth and feeling velvety with just a hint of healthy warm colour.

I had fallen in love with this colour, “Pretty Please,” my MLBB shade definitely.  It feels soft and smooth without any over the top shimmer/glitter.  It comes in a sturdy, classy, silver case with the colour of the lipstick at the bottom.

My Experience with Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Pretty Please:

Overall, my first-time lipstick experience with Colorbar has been very special as I ended up getting my MLBB shade from the wide variety of shades.  It is a very mild orangey-pink with no shimmers.  This lipstick is creamy and soft in texture, very easy to apply, and nicely pigmented.  One to two swipes is usually enough for me to get the desired colour

It has a mild caramel smell or rather toffee like scent, which fades quite soon. I have no problems with it, although I can’t say this about everyone! It tends to fade after a few hours, but doesn’t leave a fake or flaky stain and I really don’t mind touching up now and then.

Pros of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Pretty Please:

• Very soft, glides on very smoothly.
• Decently pigmented, thus hides my lips’ flaws.
• Cute packaging with colour at the bottom, so its easier to pick out from your array of lipsticks.
• Colour does not bleed.
• I am totally in love with this orangey-pinky, perfect soft coral shade.
• Quite moisturising.
• Good colour and quantity at such a decent price!

Cons of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Pretty Please:

• Staying power is very less, maximum 1-2 hours with water and light snacks in between.
• Dry-lipped beauties could complain a bit about the lipstick being a bit dry after some time.

Other than these, I really can’t find any fault with this awesome lipstick!

Would I Repurchase Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick Pretty Please?

Yes, of course I would! I can’t let my MLBB shade go, hope they never discontinue this shade!

Colorbar Kohl Intense Eyeliner

Hope you all are having a great summer.  Today, I am going to review a kohl eyeliner which I have been using for a long time. It is Colorbar Kohl Intense Eyeliner.

I am actually very much fond of Colorbar products. I was at their counter to purchase only their 3-in-1 compact, but I ended up purchasing their eyeliner and a few nail paints too.  Since I hardly do any eye makeup, I went for Kohl Intense Eyeliner in the shade “blackened 001.”

Here are the pics of how it looks. It’s a retractable eyeliner with a sharpener at the end.  The body is made of plastic and is of silver color. I liked the look of the product.

Price:

Rs. 299/- for 0.35 gm.

As the SA told me, it is intense black, and it does not smudge. Also, it is waterproof and water resistant. I am bit  concerned about using waterproof stuff on my eyes since I use lenses and that’s why I make sure that the liner shouldn’t chip and go into eyes. She said that its absolutely safe and can be used on the eyelids as well as the water line.

Since it’s a pencil and not a liquid liner, it did sound safe. Also, this product seems to be soft on application and it glides on very easily.

Here is the swatch of the product. In a single swatch, its black and in three swatches, its intense black.

It stays for 6-7 hours at a stretch and does not smudge at all. It can be reapplied easily.  After 5-6 hours, it lightens but never spreads.

I tried putting some water over it and checked if it smudges or not and it didn’t smudge at all.

I tried to clean it using Fabindia Lavender Cleanser and it went off in two to three swipes.

Off late, I have got dark circles because of work load and sitting in front of the computer, so cannot show you the pic of my eyes with this liner on. So, I decided to take a pic of my friend’s eye with this liner. She has got great eyes and no dark circles. Here is the liner on her eyes.  She is using the eyeliner on her waterline as well as eye lids. On waterline, she has put three swatches and on eyelids just one swatch, that’s why it’s quite lighter.

• Stays for a long period.
• Water resistant and water proof.
• Safe for those who wear lenses.
• Decently priced.

Cons of Colorbar Kohl Intense Eyeliner:

• I cannot think of one and I am loving it a lot. It’s a good start for people like me who hardly do any eye makeup.

Colorbar Full Finish Longwear Lipstick – Tempt Me

Today, my review is about Colorbar Long Wear Lipstick in the shade “Tempt Me.”  Again, I am surprised that this hasn’t been reviewed here before because I am sure I have read posts where people have mentioned/suggested it. I have been eyeing this one for quite some time, but the price (Rs. 575) had been putting me off.  Anyway, this weekend, I was in a good mood and decided to do a mini haul and this was one of my buys! (Will review some of the other stuff soon, stay tuned for an overdose of Green Tea! )

Product Details:

The Colorbar Full Finish Long Wear Lipstick has a special matte formula that makes it easy to apply. Sets within seconds of application and makes your lips look fuller. Its waterproof formulation makes it last for up to 8 hours. Enriched with vitamin E, the Full Finish Long Wear Lipstick is smooth, creamy and gives excellent color without drying or cracking the lips also acting as a natural antioxidant against skin ageing. The Full Finish Long Wear Lipstick is perfectly complimented with a Colorbar lip liner.

Ingredients:

Cyclopentasiloxane, octyldodecyl, paraffin, polybutene, titanium dioxide, iron oxides, mica, ozokerite, jojoba seed oil etc.

My Experience with Colorbar Full Finish Longwear Lipstick – Tempt Me:

I really love the colour of this lipstick.  It is a muted, very wearable, brick color. The lipstick glides on smooth and the slim stick-like packaging makes application very easy. If you have been reading my reviews, you might have noticed that I like muted colours that make me look nice and bright, but not “made-up.” This colour is also like that, its close to my natural lip colour and gives a nice finish to the lips. However, if you look closely, you can see that this lipstick also accentuates the fine lines on the lips. So, I tried applying a balm on top and it worked quite well.  The fine lines were “filled” and everything was perfect.

But of course, nothing is perfect.  After I removed the lipstick (using a makeup remover), my lips felt dry and cracked. Even though it doesn’t feel uncomfortably dry while the lipstick is on the lips, it does dry out the lips in the long run. This is a problem with most longwear lipsticks though, and so I am inclined to give this the benefit of doubt.

I love the packaging, it looks so sleek and sexy!  I must confess, the packaging was also a deciding factor for buying this lipstick.

Rs. 575 for 2.5 gm.

Pros of Colorbar Full Finish Longwear Lipstick – Tempt Me:

• Beautiful colour.
• Soft and creamy, glides on the lips very smoothly.
• Long staying, stays even after meals.
• Fades evenly and leaves a nice stain on the lips which is NOT NEON like some other lipsticks :/. Its mute and pretty, just the right amount of pigmentation.
• Beautiful packaging.

Cons of Colorbar Full Finish Longwear Lipstick – Tempt Me:

• A bit pricey.
• Drying on the lips.
• Accentuates fine lines.
• Its so soft and creamy that it kind of melts, it might break if not used very carefully.

Final Verdict on Colorbar Full Finish Longwear Lipstick – Tempt Me:

It’s a good lipstick, but needs to be worn with a lip balm for the best experience.

Will I Buy Colorbar Full Finish Longwear Lipstick – Tempt Me Again?

Don’t think so, I am really a lip gloss person.  I rarely buy lipsticks and when I do, they last like forever.  So, I am sure its going to last so long that Colorbar would discontinue the range by then

Colorbar Soft Touch Lip Color – HOT-e

Product Description:

About the shade “HOT-e”:

The shade as shown in the website:

HOT-e is deep maroon in color with some red and rose undertones. In photos, it is looking more reddish, but in real, it leans towards maroon shade.

Texture:

Texture of the lipstick is creamy and smooth and glides easily on the lips. It is highly pigmented and one swipe is enough to give full opaque coverage. It hides lip pigmentation completely. Colorbar claims that the lipstick has Vitamin A and E and apricot oil. Because of this, the lipstick is very moisturizing and there is no need to apply lip balm and does not make the lips dry. The lipstick gives a smooth look to the lips. It does not emphasize fine lines and does not flake. Since it’s creamy, you should use a lip liner with this.

Staying power of the lipstick is good and on me it stays easily for around 4 to 5 hours with small snacks. Once it starts fading, it leaves a beautiful tinge behind which stays on the lips for a long time. I had the same problem with this lipstick that I had with “Matina” shade from this range. That is, it stains the teeth if you put on a lot. If you do not want a creamy look, you can blot it with a tissue and still it gives an intense color to the lips which does not fade away easily. The lipstick has a faint smell which goes away after 5 minutes.

Pros of Colorbar Soft Touch Lip Color – HOT-e:

• Texture is very creamy and glides easily on the lips.
• Completely hides the lip pigmentation in a single swipe.
• Staying power is good, around 4 to 5 hours with snacks.
• Highly pigmented.
• No need to use a lip balm since it is very moisturizing.
• Does not flake or emphasize the fine lines.
• Lips look full and juicy.
• Even after fading, it leaves a good tint behind.

Cons of Colorbar Soft Touch Lip Color – HOT-e:

• Since it is creamy, you should use a lip liner with this one.
• Stains the teeth initially.
• The shade “HOT-e” is too bright to wear to office or college.

Will I Recommend Colorbar Soft Touch Lip Color – HOT-e?

Yes, but only if you are looking for a bright shade. The lipstick is moisturizing, highly pigmented and has a decent staying power. All 3 of these qualities are hard to find together in a single lipstick. If you are not into bright colors, they have some nice daily wear shades too.

Colorbar I Glide Eye Pencil in Jaded

Today, I am going to review Colorbar I Glide Eye Pencil in Jaded 03.  I have always searched for a beautiful green eye pencil. Last weekend, I thought I would try the Colorbar I Glide Eye Pencils. I had seen a lot of reviews on them on IMBB. I thought I should own at least one.  I picked the I Glide Pencil in Jaded 03, which is very greenish.

Product Description:

Defines like a pencil and glides like liquid eyeliner, the I-Glide Eye Pencil, with its smooth formulation, gives your eyes rich color in a single stroke and blends in easily after application. Lasts longer than 8 hours; does not feather or bleed. This effortlessly easy to use I-Glide Eye Pencil is available in six shades including Silver hue, CocoBar, Jaded, Electra, Prunella and Blackout.

My Take on Colorbar I Glide Eye Pencil in Jaded:

I have seen very positive reviews on the eyeliners and that is one reason why I bought it even though I felt it was a little exorbitant at Rs. 350.  The eyeliner is very creamy, glides like a dream on the eyes. I love using this, does not take much time to apply on the eyes. This pencil is very comfortable to use and gives nice pigmentation. One or two strokes would be enough for maximum color.

Staying power is around 5-6 hours. It does not smudge and is of course totally waterproof.  The pencil has to be sharpened which leads to obvious wastage of product which I hate. It is too creamy and gets blunt very easily, so you have to sharpen it all the time and that will lead to the product finishing off pretty soon.

Pros of Colorbar I Glide Eye Pencil in Jaded:

• Very good pigmentation.
• Super creamy and soft, glides effortlessly.
• Comfortable to use and easy to apply.
• Smudge and waterproof.
• I love this green. It really brightens up my face.

Cons of Colorbar I Glide Eye Pencil in Jaded:

• The price is a bit high.
• Sharpening often leads to wastage of product.
• There are no Colorbar counters here in Hyderabad

Back to IMBB after a break! It was just another shopping day out with a close friend of mine.  A sudden plan of buying a new lipstick hit us and we were at the shop with no specific brands in mind.  ”Excited” isn’t the exact word when I spotted the new Colorbar counter.  We at Cochin, Kerala, are not fortunate enough to see this brand at cosmetic shops.  After a small intro to my friend about Colorbar brand, we headed towards the pleasing girl at the counter. The cute, tiny lip pots caught our attention and it was real hard to choose one among the many lovely shades! Finally, both of us picked the same shade, “Forever Pink” and here is the review of the same.

My Experience with Colorbar Lip Pot – Forever Pink:

Being completely satisfied with the purchase at the shop itself, I couldn’t stop myself from trying it once I reached back home. I dabbed it using fingers and the shade was simply fabulous! It gives such a creamy, smooth feeling to my usually dry lips. I had this doubt of its staying power since it was extremely moisturizing, but all such doubts cleared when I wore it once while going out and it stays on the lips for quite a long time! It glides on the lips like a dream and the finish is rich and sexy, just like what the company claims, and yes, I am getting addicted to this.

This is just perfect, you wear it after lining the lips or just dab with fingers, so easy! This is my first lip pot and it has stolen my heart. Hats off Colorbar!

Pros of Colorbar Lip Pot – Forever Pink:

• Extremely moisturizing, this can be attributed to the presence of natural ingredients like Jojoba oil, Shea Butter, etc., which are well known for their moisturizing properties.
• Rich color payoff.
• Long lasting despite being glossy.
• Glides on smoothly over the lips and easy to apply.
• Convenient, no need to apply lip balm beneath it or gloss over it.
• Cute packaging.
• The presence of octyl methoxy cinnamate as an ingredient, which is widely used in sunscreens which would shield the lips from UV rays.
• The shade “Forever Pink” is gorgeous for daily wear as well as party wear depending on the intensity of application.
• Price is justifiable for the quality and quantity it offers, this being a creamy lipstick + gloss combination; net weight of 6 gm as opposed to the 4.2 gm quantity of ordinary lipsticks.

• Couldn’t find any!

So, whatever the brand claims, it delivers and I would definitely recommend this to all! Even my friend is extremely happy with the purchase, this being her very first Colorbar product.

Colorbar Ultimate Eyeliner Review

Dear Beauties,

Don’t we all love Colorbar products? Its one brand which brings out affordable products of very high quality, at least in my opinion. I totally love their matte lipstick range and the very famous glide eye pencils. Today, I’ll be reviewing another gem of a product from Colorbar called “Ultimate Eyeliner,” which I purchased exactly a month ago from “Beauty Palace,” Andheri.

I have recently ventured into eye makeup and always wanted to try a good felt tip eyeliner as felt tip liners are said to be good for beginners as they give a good control over drawing a line. Colorbar SA’s are really very sweet and helpful! Its really not difficult to spend money when they are around and that too without feeling guilty

I went to Colorbar  counter in search of their new kohl pencils which had launched a few months back, but the SA showed me this instead. She said this one is a new launch and selling like hot cakes! Of course, all SAs say the same thing, now don’t they? But really, once I swatched, I was sold! The color is blackest black and so gorgeous! The tip is really fine and very flexible, so much easy to draw those fabulous winged liner looks! The packing is pretty good, the cap fits in tightly, so you can easily carry it around in your hand bag. The pen itself looks quite nice and classy! The only thing you need to remember is to store them horizontally and not vertically like our makeup brushes or pencils liners.

The pigmentation is awesome! One swipe and you get that blackest black! Its definitely smudge proof and water resistant.

I apply it in the morning around 8:30 and it stays put throughout the day till evening, 7 or 8 pm until I remove it with a makeup remover.

It is not waterproof as I have shown below in my pics.

Enjoy some pics before we list down the pros and cons:)

Sprayed some water and you can see that the liner is water resistant.

Rubbed over with water and it smudged badly which means that it is not waterproof, easier to remove

Pros of Colorbar Ultimate Eyeliner:

• Packaging is sturdy and quite nice.
• The felt tip is fine and gives perfect precision to draw thin lines.
• The tip being flexible, its easier to bend and get that perfect winged liner.
• The pigmentation and color are awesome, one swipe and you get the blackest black color.
• Smudge proof and water resistant.
• Stays on the eyelids for a long time, for me it easily stays for 8 to 10 hours without fading.
• Gets easily removed by using any cleaner or makeup remover.

Cons of Colorbar Ultimate Eyeliner:

• Not waterproof, but honestly, I don’t find it a con as its easy to remove it.
• A bit expensive for 1 ml of product
• I haven’t seen this one in counters yet, so its not easily available.

Price:

I think I paid Rs. 400 for 1 ml something as its a new launch and they were giving discounts, but its original price is Rs. 490 I think.

Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Bare

I am super excited to write this review and even more excited to share it with all you pretty ladies. Because, let me scream it out loud, the search for my nude lipstick just got over!! :announce: :woot: Wohoooo :woot: Okay, before I start with the review, let me tell you a short story. I was not a lipstick person until a few months ago or let me say, before IMBB came to beautify my life. One of the reasons why I never wore lipstick was that I did not know which colors suited me and how a natural lipstick shade should look like.

Earlier, when I went to buy a lipstick, I went with the images of beautiful natural rose-colored lips of our film stars. I came home with pinks, roses, browns, reddish browns, etc. Most of them looked good in the malls and their yellow lighting, but I would just toss it away with a sigh once I saw the color on my lips in my mirror. I wanted a lipstick which looked natural and did not wash me out and made me look like I have not applied any lipstick.

Then Maybelline’s “My Mahogany” happened. I started getting an idea of what shade I was looking for. “My Mahogany” is really good, but on some days, it made me look washed out. It had a tendency to flake on my dry lips. I wanted a little bit more color also out of it.

Then, I started reading all these great reviews of Colorbar lipstick in Bare. I tried it out in various shops. Sometimes, it looked pink, sometimes it looked like a concealer, sometimes it looked frosty. So, I kept wondering how this lipstick got such a great review? Then, yesterday, I got fed up and thought that let me just buy it and see the real color once I reach home. Anyway, none of the lipsticks I had bought till now ever looked the same once I reached home. So, I took a chance with this on and this was the only time a lipstick made me jump with joy once I reached home. :happydance:

For a rich lip colour with a creamy shine, the Velvett Matte Lipstick, available in 45 stunning shades infuse the lips with vibrancy. Its unique 2-in-1 formulation gives the lips a creamy, yet matte finish. Staying on up to 5 hours on application, the Velvett Matte Lipstick can be further accentuated with lip gloss and lip liner.

Color:

It is pinky brown in color with peach undertones and a littler darker and more pinker than “My Mahogany.” In some lighting, it has a tendency to look more pinkish than a nude shade. I have medium skin tone and this did not wash me out at all nor did it look bright on the lips. This is the exact color I have been looking for since ages.

The texture is creamy. One swipe gives you a really opaque finish. So, all the pigmented lip ladies, run now and get this one; however, it is not so moisturizing and has a tendency to settle in the fine lines if applied too much. It has good staying power. After a few hours, it starts fading evenly leaving you with rose-tinted lips. Even after meals, the color remains on the lips, although it would have faded. Here are the swatches.

It looks a little darker on hand, but on lips, it comes out as a natural MLBB color. Here is a comparison of Colorbar Bare and Maybelline My Mahogany.

As you can see, “Bare” is more opaque and a little darker than “My Mahogany.”

I have pigmented lips and with this lipstick on, no one will guess that. Here are the lip swatches:

I love, love this shade. The color is just so natural.

Pros of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Bare:

• Beautiful color, will suit most Indian skin tones.
•  Opaque, one swipe is enough to cover all the pigmentation.
• Long lasting, stays without fading for around 5 to 6 hours. After that, it fades evenly and leaves a beautiful pink tint to the lips.
• Color fades after meals, but still a nice pink tint remains.
• Creamy texture even though it is a matte lipstick.
• Affordable price for such a great lipstick.
• 45 shades to choose from.
• Will not wash you out or look like you have applied concealer on lips.

Cons of Colorbar Velvet Matte Lipstick in Bare:

• Not moisturizing, but it is a matte lipstick, so I did not except that.
• Has a tendency to settle into fine lines.
• Since it is not moisturizing, the fine lines in my lips are more visible.
• Good remover is required to completely remove it from the lips.

All you girls, who are looking for a natural-looking lipstick should definitely buy this one. If you liked “My Mahogany,” then you will surely love this one better.  It is an MLBB shade which will suit a lot of skin tones. At such a great price, you can take a chance with your eyes closed.

Colorbar Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen

Hi all, today I am going to review a product which is not a necessity in our makeup kit, but something which can give us a glow and radiant look. It is the Colorbar Highlighter – Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen, which promises to impart a dewy look, which in turns gives a glowing effect to the face.

In this post I am going to review the pros and cons and my experience with the Colorbar Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen.  I had ordered the Radiant Glow Highlighter through their website. They do have shipping facility with minimum shipping cost. For Chennai, they charged me only 30/- rupees, but the standard of their packaging made me feel bad. You can very well check the picture given below for the way the product was packed by the Colorbar people.

Apart from the shabby packaging, the product is awesome. So, if you wish to order the product online, please do check the availability of the product with other websites also. If you still wish to opt for Colorbar website, then you won’t have any chance to predict when the product will reach you because they don’t have any options for tracking.

This how the product came, without any envelope, and with an invoice showing my purchase.

Here’s what the Company Claims about their Colorbar Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen:

“Banish the dull and tired look forever with the Radiant Glow Face Illuminator. A one of a kind product in India, this face highlighter gives the complexion a vibrant and perky look. The Radiant Glow Face Illuminator enhances makeup and brightens the complexion, giving the face a natural glow.”

425 INR for 2.2 ml.

Ingredients are a list of chemical names which is all greek and latin to me. Never Mind! The brand name always speaks for itself and thankfully, I didn’t get any allergic reaction or patches on my face.

Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen is in the form of a ball point pen which releases the fluid when tapped slightly. A soft bristle replaces the nip of the pen which can be directly applied to the face.

My Experience with Colorbar Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen:

I was actually looking for a product that could give me glowing skin, which my facials and bleaching won’t give me whenever I wished. I came to know about this product through IMBB.  Now, I have started to use this product regularly.  It does not turn my skin oily after I apply it.  Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen does not create any patches or streaks after drying.  You can rely on this for a naturally glowing skin.

Here’s how I use the illuminator pen:

• I first tap the pen slightly to get a little bit of the highlighter fluid out.
• With the help of a Q-tip, I apply it on my cheek bones, nose, and chin.
• Then, with the help of my hands, I blend it well with my makeup.
• Ta-da and I am done!!!!

Let’s look at the positive and negative aspects of Colorbar Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen:

Positives of Colorbar Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen:

• It is totally worth the money, it doesn’t have too many glitter particles, so it gives a natural glow.
• Price is quite okay, it is not too expensive.

Negatives of Colorbar Radiant Glow Face Illuminator Pen:

• Packaging is very poor.
• Shipping charge is low.  Actually, this won’t be a plus because of the less shipping cost, the product was packed and shipped in a shabby manner.

Overall Verdict:

Except for the poor packaging from Colorbar website, the product itself doesn’t have any negative points. I will surely buy this product again and I will also recommend this to my friends.
