If you have never used Lotus Nail Paints, you must give them a try. They are fantastic – free of any harmful chemicals (toluene, acetone and DBP) , come with an excellent brush, streak-proof and good shade selection.

The new 10 shades are more of fall -winter-moving -towards-spring kind of shades. Two shades reminded me of Chanel Nail Paints.

Lotus Herbals Nail Paint 84 Brownie Glaze

It’s a medium rusty brown colour. Very classy, muted and good for office goers.

Lotus Herbals Nail Paint 85 Purple Star

Purple Star is a shimmery grape purple nail paint. It has a metallic finish. Zero streaking and the shimmer is well blended with the nail paint.

Lotus Herbals Nail Paint 86 Deep Sea:

This reminded me of Chanel Riva Nail Polish. This is just a tone brighter. This is going to be one of my most worn shade for spring.

Lotus Herbals Nail Paint 87 Plum Delight

Chanel Paradoxal? It’s a wine plum colour- no shimmer. Very fall -winter shade.

Lotus Herbals Nail Paint 88 Dark Champagne

It’s a brownish mauve colour. Great for both day and evening time. Not one of my favourite though.

Lotus Herbals Nail Paint 98 Playful Pink :

Loved this shade. It’s a bright strawberry pink nail paint with no shimmer. The shade would totally brighten up any dull day.

Lotus Herbals Nail Paint 90 Red Chilli

It’s a true rust colour. I would prefer using it on toes than hands.

Lotus Herbals Nail Paint 97 Nutty Love :

It’s a metallic bronze nail paint . I love the shine and glaze in this nail paint.  Would go great with most ethnic wears.

Pink doll is a pretty baby pink nail paint with a hint of lavender undertone to it.

It’s a peachy brown nail paint. Peach perfect is a shade lighter than brown glaze. Both nail paints belong to similar family.

Lotus Herbals Lipstick Pure Color

Mod Mauve is a nude mauve lipstick . It has a very fine silver non-obvious shimmer in it. The lipstick is pigmented and almost goes satiny on lips. The average staying power of mod Mauve lipstick on my lips is almost 3-3 1/2 hours. It doesn’t dry out my lips but I do feel a need of lip balm underneath it. The lipstick goes on even on my lips. This lipstick shade would be a “My Lips But better “shade for girls with dusky complexion.

I personally like this color a lot. It is a warm fall color . It reminds of Lotus Floral Glam lipstick in Bubbly Nude.

Mod Mauve on lips

Star Glow is a bronzy brown color with golden shimmer  to it. Star glow is not as opaque as some other lipsticks in this collection . It has a medium to buildable coverage. This lipstick is more of an evening color. The golden sheen is quite obvious and may not look very pretty during day time. The staying power is around 2 hours and almost no colour stays after a full meal.

Girls with pigmented lips might have to put a lip line underneath to get the true color. It looks very light on lips as compared to the swatch. It goes on a soft brown with a hint of gold.

I am reviewing two colors today – Peach Creme and Pink blush

Lotus Herbals Pure colors lipstick

Pink Blush : It’s a warm pink color with mauve undertones. It looks very bright in the tube but goes on as a medium toned lipstick. The finish is between matte and satin. There is  no shimmer in it . It’s a great color for everyday wear, especially for office.

Peach Creme : It is a  peachy brown lipstick. It has a slight orange undertones. It goes completely opaque on lips.It has no shimmer in it.

My overall experience with Lotus Herbals Pur Color Lipstick :

• They are very pigmented lipsticks. With two swipes they go completely opaque.
• I like the faint rosy smell they have.
• The packaging is no fuss and the cover closes tightly.
• They go on smoothly and evenly on lips.
• They have a great staying power. On me they stay around 3-3/12 hours . After one full meal I still have a stain a lipstick on my lips.
• They never settle in the fine lines of lips. Infact your lips look smoother.
• There are 22 shades to choose from.
• You would love the price.
• they are 100% vegetarian.

The Not so good thing about Lotus Herbals Pure Color Lipstick:

• These are not super moisturizing and I think that’s the reason they stay on so well on your lips. Also the drying part is not such that would cause any major discomfort to your lips. A simple lip balm underneath would do a job.
• I just wish that the bottom or top of lipstick was coloured s the same shade of lipstick. It would have made the lipstick storage easy. As of now there are labels at the bottom of the lipstick with lipstick name and numbers.

19 Aqua green is a aqua green eye liner with soft golden sheen to it.

20 Sapphire is a deep blue liner with little specs of silver shimmer to it. It’s very pretty. Like when you apply it, you can see a little specs of shimmer here and there in your liner.

15 Glitzy brown is a bronzy brown liner. It also has little specs of silver coppery shimmer.

And here’s how you use the sharpener. Just fit it on the tip of the pencil and twist it. It will sharpen like a regular sharpener. You have to use both your hands to sharpen the pencils but since I had to click picture with one hand, the sharpener is hanging in the air.

• Highly pigmented: One swipe of colour on lips and you are done.
• SPF-10 Finally we have a lipstick that would give us protection against sun.
• Does not dry out your lips.
• Becomes kiss proof once it is set with powder. Tested and tried. lol! I am not saying anything more on this.
• The lipsticks are creamy.
• Has long staying power. I wear these lipsticks during the start of my day and they stay as is until I am not having a proper meal. Even after that the lipstick does not fade completely, there is a stain of colour on my lips. You might have to reapply it once during the day or depending on how often you are having oily food because oil tends to break the staying power of lipsticks. In fact, one of these days I even had a soupy maggi and a sizzling sizzler but my lips didn’t go completely bare.

Red Rover: OMg! OMG! This is my first red ever and it’s oh! so! gorgeous. I have fallen in love with this completely. The other day I wore it with bare cheeks and barely any makeup on eyes. Loved it. This is orangish red colour and has a slight hint of gold in it. For those who are just starting with red. This is THE colour.

Bubbly Nude: I apply this colour and and then I reapply this and then I keep applying it until I get tired of applying it. I am sold by this colour. It is one of the best nude I have ever come across. This is a beigish based nude. A lot of times the flesh coloured nudes completely washes out the colour from your face. This one would give just the right hint of colour or no colour. Droooll!!

Coffee Berry: This is a purple based dark brown. Non shimmery.

Why should you NOT buy Lotus Herbals FloralSTAY™ long-lasting lip colour?

• Limited shade selection. I would want to see loads of neutrals, pinks, nudes and corals in this range.
• I wish they had a see through top. This would have made it a lot easier to locate the lipstick shade.
• The cap is not very tight. Not that it keeps opening but it opens very easily. This area seriously need to be worked upon because women carry lipsticks in their bags and a loose cap does not help at all. I carry my lipstick in a tiny pouch.

Pink Mink: I would call it crimson red. A red based pink with no shimmer. Would look stunning on people with fair complexion. You can create that gorgeous stained lips look with this one.
