Hi Ladies,

This is one of the most beautiful products that I bought during my wedding cosmetic shopping. Well, I was completely unaware of the loose powder concept then. Thanks to the SA, she introduced/rather sold out this shimmery loose powder to me almost instantly. I was so fascinated with it that I didn’t even bother about the price. Well, I have been using this product only for special occasions/parties and the effect is very prominent. This is from a limited edition product.

My Take on Revlon Bare It All Lustrous Powder – Goldi Looks:

The powder comes in a nice, sturdy plastic case with a screw type of cover. The puff has a cute bow and it picks up just the right amount of product needed. The excess powder can be dabbed back on the inner lid which has small openings. The product is very smooth and has very fine golden shimmery particles in it.

Well to be frank, I was not aware of any shimmery loose powder before I saw this product. All I knew was the compact powder which has to be applied after the liquid foundation. The SA told me that this has to be applied after the makeup is complete to give a nice polished, shimmery finishing touch. I have been doing the same and apply this on my cheeks and neck and I am quite impressed with the kind of look it gives.

Also, due to its adhesive properties, it stays on in place till it is removed and the lasting power is good. Even if you don’t have any shimmery product, dab a bit of this and you get the shimmery effect immediately. I feel every bride must have this product.

A very nice and puffy applicator.
Lasting power is very decent.
The shimmery effect is very nice and beautiful and is not over the top.
Can be applied on the face and body too.
In my opinion, this is a must-have in a bride’s makeup kit.
Easily removable with face wash.

Contains parabens.
Cost (perfectly fine with me as I love it).

Hey Everyone,

Today, I am going to review a lip gloss which is actually not mine. My sister has come to my place, so I sneaked into her vanity case and picked it up. My liking has always been lipsticks and my sister has always been a gloss person. Even after her marriage, she completes her makeup with heavily kohled eyes and a hint of gloss on her lips. Okay, coming back to the product, it is again one of her favourite. Let’s take a detailed review of the same.

Product Being Reviewed:

Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss.

Shade Being Reviewed:

Coffee Sparkles 63.

Shades Available:

Peach Petal, Fire Cracker, Coral Reef, Pink Pop, Lilac Pastelle, Shine City, Nude Lusture , Pink After Glow Pearl Plum, Pink Whisper, Foiled, Pink Pursuit, Coffee Sparkles.

Product Description:

Glossy formula combines sheer color.
Intense moisture.
Light-reflecting spheres to create amazing shine.
SPF 15.

Price/Packaging:

INR 400. These come in a sturdy plastic bottle with a doe-foot applicator. I am quite fond of the doe-foot applicators as they easily glide along the contours of the lips without smudging. Also, it is transparent, so you would know how much you have used and how much is still left.

My Take on Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss – Coffee Sparkles #63:

Although the name says Coffee, but it is more of a nude beige shade with just a very light hint of brown colour. This kind of colour shall go mostly with smokey eyes or heavily done eyes. It also has subtle shimmer particles, though they are not very evident and once applied on the lips, they are not even noticeable. The gloss doesn’t have any fragrance whatsoever.

The taste is on the sweeter side :P, not that I ate it, but incidentally, it went into my mouth. The consistency is slightly on the thicker side and is a bit sticky as well, which is not a problem as this feature might be adding to its staying power, which is the gloss’ best part.

I have seen or rather used glosses which stay on for half-an-hour, one hour, but this one stayed for like 4 hours, which was quite commendable. Owing to the poor staying power of the glosses, I have refrained from using them and have developed the affinity towards lipsticks, but this one was an exception. Also, it is quite pigmented and gives a nice glossy shine in even one application.

Summarizing the pros and cons:

Pros of Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss – Coffee Sparkles #63:

Nude-based beige colour which shall look good on all skin types.
The staying power is around 4 hours which is good for a gloss.
Sleek and sturdy packaging with a doe-foot applicator which makes the usage easy.
Does not make the lips dry.
Has SPF which is an added advantage.

Cons of Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss – Coffee Sparkles #63:

Some of you may not like it being sticky (though believe me, it is not bothersome). That’s all I could think of

My Take on Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Hot Pink:

This is my second gloss from Revlon Colorburst range and I just love it as much as I love my first one “Aubergine” from the same range. I am using so many Revlon products these days, starting from their foundations, compact, lipsticks, eye pencils and now my latest love are their Colorburst lip glosses. After buying Aubergine and getting super impressed with the gloss, it did not take me even a second to order another gloss during the holiday season offers going on almost everywhere.

Hot Pink is basically a cool-toned pink gloss that has fine golden/silver shimmers in it. The shimmers do add a nice glow effect on the lips and make them more attractive. Well, I do love mattes, but prefer my glosses to have some shimmers, to add that extra oomph, for a change that is sometimes needed.

This is a beautiful color that would suit best on medium skin tone. My skin tone is lighter and this looks great on me, but I think medium skin tone ladies would totally rock this shade.

Packaging is simple yet very effective. The elastic wand picks up enough color to cover your lips in one go and the soft foam-based applicator makes it very easy to apply the shade.

Texture-wise, I find these lip glosses to be the best among all I have used till date. They are of medium consistency and beautifully pigmented and these do not need a lipstick underneath them. They feel light on the lips and not sticky at all. The shimmers are fine and go well on a daily basis too. These are very moisturizing and in no way your lips would ask for an extra lip balm even in this cool weather.

Pros of Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Hot Pink:

Beautiful, bright, cool-toned pink color.
Shimmery but the glitters are super fine and look great.
Stay for around 4 hours on me with light snacks in between.
Nicely pigmented and one swipe gives a nice opaque color on the lips.
Texture is soft and smooth and not sticky.
Very moisturizing.
Nice and effective packaging.
The long elastic wand and the soft foam applicator helps to apply the gloss quite easily.
Easily available.
No funny smell or taste attached with the product.

Cons of Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Hot Pink:

Price is a little high but this can be grabbed during offers that are mostly going on online.

Do I Recommend/Will I Repurchase Revlon Colorburst Lip Gloss in Hot Pink?

If I can, I would buy them in all the shades as I am so in love with these glosses. They always bring a smile to my face when I apply them. I totally recommend these. If you are planning to buy a lip gloss for yourself, then try the Revlon Colorburst than any other expensive brand.

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick Coffee Break

Price:

INR 525 for 4.2 grams.

This is my second Super Lustrous Lipstick by Revlon can you believe that? Just a second! I had a very teeny meeny one long back when Revlon had mini lipsticks too in the same shades, but most of us I believe bought those instead of the 500+ price tag and hence, may be Revlon had second thoughts :stars:, but honestly, they do look cute and reach the finish line so much faster for collectors like me. But never mind, I keep buying more and after my experience with the “Revlon Super Lustrous First Love,” I did not want to write these off due to the sheer nature and the fact that these need to be swiped over and over for deep crème finish lovers like me. Nevertheless, they have shades that I literally drool upon each time I visit the Revlon counter

Revlon Super Lustrous lipsticks also come in frost finish apart from the crème finish that I have in both and I am not aware of other finishes (please enlighten). I hate frost lipsticks and never ever buy them unless I am gifted one. Frost doesn’t do anything for me and makes me look very shiny, adding to the oily skin I have :lol:, that’s what I assume, but I absolutely adore crème finishes more than mattes too as mattes do not do much for lifting the face or plumping the lips whereas crème finishes make lips fuller and more moisturised in appearance.

Revlon superlustrous lipstick in coffee break is just my kind of color. It is creamy in texture, but very sheer, to my disappointment and the shade is an orange-based beige on my opinion. The shade comes out lighter on the lips for me as in the tube.

The texture is crème but need to be swiped over and over to get some real color on the lips and some fullness and lustre so to say, but this very fact makes it a must-have for office goers, sheer lipstick lovers and for people who do not want to add much color on their face or want to keep lips subtle and sheer for deeper eyes.

The packaging like I said in my earlier Revlon post is my favourite classic, shiny black and gold and I love the cap. I love how I can peep through the cap which is transparent in the centre. The cap also click locks which is a big relief to save a lipstick that costs 525 rupees!

The finish is very moisturised and makes lips fuller and lifts up the face as compared to matte lipsticks which make lips appear dry and settle in fine lines. These do not add to volume too.

The staying power considering these are sheer is not so impressive. For me, it would be two to three hours, but they fade really evenly and beautifully, these do not set and hence these do transfer very easily too, none that concerns me much honestly as I really don’t mind re-applying lipsticks.

Compared to First Love, it is very much on the same lines. First Love is more beige and this one does have some orange to it. Texture and finish is the same and both are crème lipsticks. For more nude lips, First Love is a better choice!

Last Word on Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Coffee Break:

Its more of a sheer lipstick, for office goers or for days when you want to highlight your eyes. For me, I love the shade a lot and will definitely recommend checking these out on the counters if you like crème texture and moisturised finish lipsticks.

Packaging:

The Revlon skinlights face Illuminator lotion comes in a long-ish, sturdy tube (not a squeezy one) with a pump dispenser on top. The packaging is nice and neat, I like it.

My Experience with Revlon Skinlights Face Illuminator Lotion – Pink Light:

I purchased this exactly an year back, as a Christmas gift to self While this product has been discontinued internationally/outside India and has been re-launched as the spa face illuminator; it is very much available at all Revlon counters here.

The product comes in lotion form, has thin but not runny consistency and blends easily, quickly. It’s a lightweight lotion and does not feel heavy on the face at all.

The shade Pink Light has a slight pink tint and has golden shimmer in it which is super-duper/extremely fine and not gritty at all.

For the entire face, I just need about two pumps of the product. I am sure that one tube will last me for long as I don’t need a lot of product for each application.

This lotion does give a beautiful-swallowed-in-bulb-glow to the face. I personally prefer this for my evening/party makeup only, under my foundation and not for routine usage. However, on my bad skin days, when my skin feels dull, I mix a drop of this with my moisturiser to get that glow. When used as it is, it just gives a healthy skin appearance, but this does not give any coverage at all. If you are comfortable with slight shimmer during the day, you can use it all over the face and finish off with compact to get light coverage with dewy finish.

This can also be used as a highlighter by dotting this lotion and then blending it in. With my experience and usage, I would suggest this will suit well normal-dry-combination skin. If your skin is too oily or gets shiny easily, you may not like this. Instead you should try the skinlights illuminator in loose powder form. The lotion has slight, mild fragrance, which does not bother me much, but I would have loved it if it came sans any fragrance.

Overall, I like this product a lot and I would definitely recommend and repurchase this.

Hello Gorgeous Gals, Being a huge Revlon fan, I keep collecting Revlon products, so today, I am going to review another Revlon product, the Revlon ColorStay Pressed Powder. Since I have oily skin, I have to carry a pressed powder with me since my nose gets oily. So, when I got the Revlon mineral mousse, I had to get the pressed powder also since it claimed to stay for 16 hours.

I thought it would be so wonderful to be on the go without getting worried about the shine that comes with oily skin. So, let’s get on with the review.

My Take on Revlon ColorStay Pressed Powder in Deep:

The pressed powder comes in a cute black case with a mirror inside. It has a sponge applicator which is quite useful. I like the fact that you have to press a button thing on the case and then it flips open (sassy right), so that makes it very travel friendly. The pressed powder itself is pressed so sturdily that even after dropping it a million times, it did not budge from its case and no breakage at all. I got it a year back, so it is about time that I do a review.

I got the shade “Deep” which is the last shade available, but personally, I feel all dusky girls are not going to be happy with the shade. This particular shade which is the last one will suit wheatish complexion. Revlon should have had some more shades available. I use this powder on top of my moisturised skin as it hides the little God-given flaws on my face.

This is a good product but it definitely does not live up to the 16 hours claim. My face turns violently oily after just 5 hours and I really need to pay attention and keep a wet wipe in handy or else the powder separates from the oily skin and give a very ugly look. It looks like fresh white paint on the face and when I touch, it actually sticks to my finger (eeeeeyyyyeeewwww!! gross!!), so the powder does stay on, but not in a good way and it does not wash off with a splash of water, I have to rub and scrub it away.

I was very disappointed with this product after having such a wonderful experience with other Revlon products and this was a total letdown.

Pros of Revlon ColorStay Pressed Powder in Deep:

Small flaws can be masked.
Packaging is cute and travel friendly.
Gives a matte finish.

Cons of Revlon ColorStay Pressed Powder in Deep:

Expensive.
Does not live up to the 16-hour claim (duhhh), it helps for 5 hours maximu.
Limited shades.

I just did not want to waste it, so I use it sparingly and I am always alert and keep checking myself in the mirror or I just use it on my arms (heheheh).

Will I Repurchase Revlon ColorStay Pressed Powder in Deep?

No, I will not make the same mistake again. I will rather buy a pressed powder from another brand for a much lesser price.

I realized that not many reviews are here on this range of Revlon and so, I was on a mission to find some great shades to tempt you girls to go get yourself one.

This Revlon range according to me has not been so celebrated for various reasons (because we all were bust talking about Colorburst and Maybelline Colorsensational, which are really overrated in my opinion). Yes, you are talking to a lipstick junkie who has used way better lipsticks for the same price), but I went to the Revlon counter after a long time and the first thing I obviously checked out are no prizes for guessing, lipsticks. The only ones in shining armour were these pretties in gold and the very first I picked up, “Rose Passion” stole my heart :inlove:, so, I quickly kept this aside as I was taking it home with me

I don’t have many Revlon lipsticks, perhaps only 5 to 6, and most of them are matte and velvet, yada yada, nothing impressive. These plumpsexxxy(note the xxx) lip color are a dry-lipped girls dream. These lipsticks are very soft, so be a little gentle with these. I mean they can dent at the sides of the tube, but these don’t melt like NYX. These are very very moisturising, soft, glide like butter, pigmented, high shine, glossy finish.

I like the minty feel from it two minutes post application and I love the gold packaging.

The finish is high shine, glossy and no shimmer, no glitter. This particular shade is not really a rose, but it’s a reddish-peachy-pinky color and will complement fair to medium skin and any peach lover.

The lipstick is soft and shiny, so it gets wiped off easily, unlike those ones that set or may be thicker in texture; the texture of this one is very light to medium, that’s what makes the wear so comfortable. It is extremely moisturising, not drying, doesn’t settle in fine lines and gives a plump effect due to the glossy finish. I totally like it, though I am more of a matte and cream finish girl.

Now, to the downside, these lipsticks are so shiny and glossy that they do leave a mark on all your cups. The plump effect, sorry to say, lasted for say two minutes psychologically because of the tingling sensation, rather a minty tingle on my lips, for 90 seconds, the so-called plumping effect. The effect of plumping was more because of the glossy water shine finish it gives. So, on the plumping side, 5% enhancing may be, not more.

Last Word on Revlon PlumpSexxxy Lipcolor – Rose Passion:

These lipsticks are very moisturising, glossy, and a dry lip girl’s dream. These transfer easily, don’t stay for more than two to three hours without meals. Due to the soft and light texture, these do transfer on the teeth as well, but the shade is to die for. It does fade soon, but fades evenly for me. These may be a little overpriced; these certainly give tough competition to the Colorburst range, if you are looking for a moisturising lipstick. I definitely recommend these and will hoard some more as the shades are gorgeous. Indeed, it is a very natural, soft look, day wear lipstick!!!!

Rating:

3.95 on 5 (staying power may be an issue, but its an underrated lipstick in my opinion).

Hi Everyone,

I am reviewing Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner in shade Green Twinkle.

Price:

INR 575 for 2.5 ml of the product though I got it for Rs. 518 from Healthkart.

Colors Available:

I found around 6 shades (black, silver, gold, blue) in total on the Healthkart website. I have never checked these out in shops. Rati detailed the various shades here.

Expiry Date/Shelf Life:

2 years.

Ingredients:

I couldn’t find anything on the product or on Revlon website (couldn’t find the shade in Revlon website, so I guess this is specific for Indian market!). I found this list from Wegmans for black shade, but I am not sure if the same is applicable for Green Twinkle.

Ingredient list looks like it has some nice products like aloe and beeswax but parabens!

What Revlon Says about Colorstay Liquid Liners:

“Elegant, sexy and sophisticated, Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner allows you to emphasize your eyes with precision. Dries quickly and lasts all day.
- Enriched with Vitamin E and Aloe
- Ophthalmologist tested”
EXPERT TIPS from Revlon:
• With a light touch, apply the liner starting at the inside corner and working outwards. Instead of trying to apply it all in one long line, draw several smaller lines. • For a cat eye, extend line slightly beyond outer corner of eye.

Packaging:

The green shimmer-plastic pot is cute with the long cap and its plastic casing, so no worry about breaking it (thank God because I drop things a lot!). Ingredients are not mentioned nor is the price mentioned, but I found the expiry date, manufacturing date and batch code clearly mentioned, which is a relief cos I am very particular about things I put on my eye. The downside is that the opaque casing does not show the quantity of the product remaining inside or even if it gets clogged in!

My Take on Revlon Colorstay Liquid Liner in shade Green Twinkle:

This is a shimmer eyeliner in a bluey-greenish color (Rati said it is forest green and I am going with that) and it has a nice party-glitter kind of effect, but they are not chunky or cheap-looking and irritating to apply. In fact, I found this very soft to apply. I applied this on the upper lid and did not experience any irritation. I also rely a lot on the “ophthalmologist tested” in the website, but I dare not try this on the waterline. There was a mild cooling effect, a wait of 5 secs and voila, the liner was set and doesn’t easily smudge (which is a great thing as I do rub my eyes a lot). The flocked tip applicator is very good and soft against skin and very good for creating precision lines.

Pros:

• Glides on smoothly to create fine lines of shimmery forest green liner with nice pigmentation
• Dries fast enough, 5 seconds is all it takes.
• Flocked tip applicator is very soft and smooth.
• Ophthalmologist tested.
• No irritation, no heaviness of eyes and no drop-off (thank God, I hate glitter all over my face).
• Stays for up to 5 hours (I experimented only till so much, even then no flaking or dropping off), after which, I removed it with soap.
• Cute and useful packaging- I hate when my makeup container breaks!

Cons:

• I couldn’t find the ingredient list, which is a bummer as I like to know what I am using.
• Not waterproof, which is interesting since you would expect something like that in a product that says “Color Stay.”
• Opaque casing doesn’t let show the content remaining inside.
• It has a very chemically smell
• Kind of expensive, Rs. 575 for 2.5ml!

My Rating:

3.5 out of 5 (minus for no ingredients list, for opaque packing and for not being water proof).

Will I Buy it Again?

Again, I am not sure, I kind of like colored eye pencils more.

This is my first lipstick in matte from Revlon and on the whole too I just have some 5 lipsticks from Revlon considering my huge collection.i paid some 500 odd rupees for this and I don’t think I got value for money for this product and the brand. But I am too floored by the color of this one and so I may give it some benefit of doubt to this one.

Revlon has many variants of their lipsticks like matte, velvet touch, plump, lustrous some glosses too. The colorburst ones are the recent craze. But I fell for this color as im moving more towards nudes these days. First off when I read mauve and that too twinkled I thought this would be a frosty shimmery lipper . On a closer look I saw that it’s a matte lipstick :/ when I swathed it I saw that this is almost a nude soft brown plus pink matte lipper and the tube has ribbons of mild golden shimmer in it . Wow! I mean I don’t have a matte lipstick with shimmer in I mean perhaps here the formula is mattifying(and drying too) but its definitely not a matte matte kind of lipstick, it has an edge over other lippies with the ribbons of gold in the pink brown color and it gives a sheen of gold to the final finish . It is not really a mauve but somewhere between a mix of pink and brown .One swipe comes out all nudey for me but in four swipes the gold sheen is mildly visible and the lippy is more like brown then .

About my experience with the lipstick:

So far so good the lipstick is matte nude with a gold sheen the formula at first application is smooth but not creamy.granted it’s a matte lippy. The formula is staying but doesn’t set on the lips like the nine to five from lakme(not that I want it too) after an hour or so my lips started drying so much and remember I had some four swipes of this one. by the time night fell I was wearing it close to seven hours the color of the lipstick had stayed put but with the passage of time the formula had become drier and drier on my lips so much so that I wanted the lipper to be off my lips and I was craving for a lip balm. Usually I never have dry lips ever and so I love matte creamy lipsticks. But this was bad, the formula was so drying after a while that I dint care if the color had stayed on me for seven hours but my lips were parched with all the color accumulated in the wrinkles of the lips. Wonder what would happen with dry lips and lips with fine lines :eek:

Another thing I wanna point out about this one is that I found the packaging to be very cheap and the label at the base looked like some local lipstick sticker(yes I do judge products according to the label on them )I did not find the packaging any different than the cheaper branch of Revlon “streetwear” just the pricing was different . Revlon and streetwear both surprise me always with their cheap quality and high pricing.

Last word:
The color is GORGEOUS in every way. It’s a pretty nude brown pink shade with a mild sheen of gold and its matte lipstick . But it’s a very very very drying lipstick. It is hell for dry lips. I never ever have dry lips but this lipstick made me realise what it is to have dry lips. I don’t wanna work with the color with a balm etc because im just so put off. The pricing is not at all justified (rs 480)I love matte nude lipsticks but still would not prefer this drying formula.if I use a balm it wont be as matte and then it defeats the whole purpose of a matte lippy!
