Today, I will be reviewing Revlon Lip Butter in shade Peach Parfait.

How To Use:

Starting with clean, dry lips, apply your favourite shade of Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter onto lips. Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter can be worn with or without lip liner. Reapply as often as desired for softer, smoother and instantly hydrated lips!

My Experience with Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter – Peach Parfait:

I had previously reviewed Revlon Lip Butter in the shade Tutti Frutti. Be sure to check that out too to get a detailed review of the packaging and texture.

I have a fair complexion and brownish-black hair, so I tend to be drawn more towards peachy/pink/nude color families. I had read online that Peach Parfait was the color being worn by Emma Stone in the ad campaign. In those photographs, it appears to be a light/bright peachy pink with a glossy finish.

Peach parfait came off as a lovely pink with a hint of peach and some shimmer. I found this color incredibly flattering, so I absolutely love it. But just adding a word of caution, these shimmers do come off as a little gritty like you can feel it when you rub your lips together and appears very shimmery if seen in direct daylight. So, if you are not a big fan of shimmer, this product is not for you.

As for the texture, it is incredibly smooth and super creamy. My dry lips seem to magically disappear when I put these lip butters on. It fades away rather quickly, but I don’t mind. I just love reapplying these.

Has a very glossy finish.

Hello Beauties,

After reading Nupur’s review here, I thought of reviewing the other shade I have from the Revlon Moisture Lip Range. It is called as Brickstone and is numbered 49. Recently, I took some time to marvel over my lipstick collection and realized I have lot of Revlon stuff and this tall, shiny and beautiful baby caught my attention. I must say the packaging is really very beautiful and catchy. It snuggles nicely in my bag and the tick lock of the cap frees me from the worry of it travelling all over in my bag in 2 pieces.

I must say that this is one brand for some reason that I have plenty of products from without any intention of doing so. I recall even during my wedding when I was not at all into makeup, most of the stuff I got or purchased was from Revlon. So, I think it really shows its easy availability and popularity in India.

So, let me directly tell you about the colour.

This shade I bought is a rich brown color with red undertones. Not a really unique shade but a good one to have in your collection. It goes really well with saris when you are in a fickle mind to wear red or not.

Packaging:

It comes in a nice sleek and beautiful golden case that feels really luxurious. I like it! Also, the lipstick inside is a thinner cylinder compare to other I have. The only problem with that is it becomes prone to breakage if by chance you roll the full product for application. :methinks: Twisting and rolling only a smaller portion should take care of this, so no worries!

What I Like about Revlon Moisture Stay Lip Color – Brickstone:

Smooth and soft.
Quite moisturizing.
Fragrance is very mild.
Not heavy on the lips.
Provides a slight cooling sensation.
Pretty pigmentation.
Easily available.
Coverage is pretty opaque.
Decent staying power for 4-5 hours.
Sleek and beautiful packaging.
Available in lovely shades suiting Indian skin tones.

What I Did Not Like about Revlon Moisture Stay Lip Color – Brickstone:

Lesser quantity when compared with other lipsticks.
On the expensive side.

Do I Recommend Revlon Moisture Stay Lip Color – Brickstone?

Yes, if you are looking for a brown shade with red undertones.

As you all know, “tangerine” is one of the colours in trend and for those who want to follow it, rejoice because I have the perfect product for you all. It is Revlon Lip Butter in shade Tutti Frutti.

My Experience with Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter – Tutti Frutti:

I normally use the nudes and pinks shade of lipsticks and this is the first lipstick which is a colour totally out of my comfort zone and I am so glad I decided to buy it. Tutti Frutti is a very bright orange with just the tiniest hint of peach to it. I think it’s the kind of colour that would frequently be passed over on the shelf because it’s a bit intimidating. But it’s definitely worth a second look.

It does apply very sheer and you need at least a couple of swipes for it to actually show, but you might want to swatch it before you buy it to be sure this colour would suit your skin tone. The packaging for these lipsticks is a rectangular plastic quilted-pattern tube. The colour of the tube reflects the colour of the product inside, which is nice and there is a clear plastic window at the very top of the tube, so you can look inside and get an idea of what the colour actually looks like.

The texture is the right blend between lip colour and balm. I wouldn’t say it is like a normal tinted lip balm. The pigmentation is very good and it gives a glossy finish to the lips. Revlon lip butters contain mango butter, Shea butter and jojoba oil, so they do live up to their claim of being ultra moisturizing, but you might have to compromise on the staying power. It fades away rather quickly and will definitely not survive a meal. These lip butters don’t have an artificial fragrance or a rancid taste.

Its quality of being super creamy might also be its disadvantage. It is so soft that you have to apply it very light handedly or else IT WILL get squished. I am even scared to twist it all the way up because as you can see in the pictures, it gets collected around the rim when you twist it back in.

These are going to be a permanent part of Revlon’s product line, that’s a good thing because I am definitely going to be purchasing more of these in every colour.

Pros of Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter – Tutti Frutti:

Texture is amazing, almost like how a real butter would feel.
My lips do feel smooth when I apply these.
Has a very glossy finish. No need for a gloss or lip balm.
Love the packing, very helpful to find the shade you want if you tend to have a mountain of lipsticks stuffed in your drawer.
Comes in 20 shades (I want to have them all!)

Cons of Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter – Tutti Frutti:

Very squishy, have to be very careful when twisting or applying it.
It is hydrating once it is on the lips. Once you wipe it off, your lips are the same. Does not treat chapped lips like a lip butter should.

My Experience with Revlon Hydra Boost Cleansing Milk:

I have used a wide variety of cleansing milks and this one seems to be the best out of all. Revlon Hydra Boost Cleansing Milk comes in a pink translucent bottle, similar to the bottle of Revlon Hydra Boost Toner. It has a texture which is sort of a mix of cream and gel. It deep cleanses and rehydrates skin, it helps remove makeup as well. It leaves my skin soft and removes makeup effectively, but I could not find it any more. I am very happy with this cleansing milk. I find it perfect for my dry skin. It removes dirt easily and a great cleanser to be used after a tiring day. The product does impart moisturization. I use it every night and love its excellent results, this product is ideal for dry skin. Overall, this cleansing milk is great for beauties with dry skin and one bottle goes a long way.

Pros of Revlon Hydra Boost Cleansing Milk:

Removes makeup.
Removes dirt.
Refreshes skin.
Moisturizing power is really good.
Reasonably priced.
One bottle goes a long way.

The product I am reviewing today is Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Raspberry Freeze. This is a wonderful deep pink shade which I am currently in love with.

Packaging:

It comes in a black case with golden band marking the brand name “Revlon.” The top of the cap is see-through and you can easily distinguish the shade by looking through it.

The color which I am reviewing here is “Raspberry Freeze.” This is a very dazzling deep pink color which is perfect for casual or party wear.

My Take on Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Raspberry Freeze:

This shade comes under “frost” (others being crème, etc). For those who must have seen the movie “How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days” must be remembering the tagline of Matthew McConaughey’s campaign for diamond jewellery – “Frost Yourself.” I can say the same with this lipstick as it gives a diamond finish and super lustrous shine. As the name suggests, it is indeed frosty in appearance. It gives an instant shimmery finish on application. The texture is smooth and easily blends on the lips. One swipe of the lipstick gives a decent appearance to the lips, but if you want a more glamorous look, you can go in for a double swipe. I find it just right for evenings because it is a deep colour and has a glaze which might make your lips look overly done if applied during the day.

Swiping it once can cover your entire original lip colour and will also make them look more naturally colored rather than giving a cakey or creamy overly done look. This is “the” colour for girls who love pink/fuchsia lip colours. The staying power of this lipstick is also good, i.e., approximately 4-5 hours after which the colour fades a little but does not disappear completely. I must tell you girls, I do get compliments from my boyfriend each time I wear this lip color

Smooth application and texture.
Striking and rich color which will also make your lips look more naturally colored rather than giving a cakey or creamy overly done look.
Perfect for evenings or occasions where you need to look glamorous.
Stays on for a good amount of time.
Good coverage of uneven lip pigmentation.

Cons of Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Raspberry Freeze:

Due to the shimmery finish, it is not suitable for day wear or office wear.
For a single swipe, you might need to use a lip balm before using this lipstick depending on texture of your lips as it does not make the lips look supple or juicy.

Will I Repurchase Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick – Raspberry Freeze?

Yes, I will definitely repurchase this shade as it is perfectly in sync with my original lip color.

Tip: Before application, I load my lips with petroleum jelly (Vaseline) and leave it on for a while to soak in. Then, I use my toothbrush to lightly scrub my lips and then I wipe off the petroleum jelly with a soft towel. After this, I apply the lipstick. This makes the lips smoother, fuller and brings out the lipstick color magnificently. So, go ahead all you beautiful ladies, “frost yourself” with this shade.

Today, I will review Revlon Touch and Glow Advanced Fairness Face Wash. I just wanted to try Revlon face wash, so I just bought it when I saw it at “Dmart.” I won’t be able to tell you about the fairness promises of this face wash as I have very fair skin, so I really don’t know if this really helps to increase fairness. It’s just that this was the only face wash from the brand Revlon, so I just bought it.

Key Ingredients:

Soapwort: it removes dirt, oil and impurities from skin.
Bearberry: it helps to lighten complexion.
Vitamin E, C & B%: moisturises the skin.
Witch hazel extract: mild astringent which helps reduce pore size.

This face wash has quite a thick consistency and produces a good amount of lather.

Pros of Revlon Touch and Glow Advanced Fairness Face Wash:

I was totally impressed reading the ingredient list.
Forms quite a lot of lather so that only a small amount is required.
When I wash my face with this face wash, it feels quite refreshing and my skin feels smooth (just for a few hours).
I like the creamy consistency of the face wash.

Cons of Revlon Touch and Glow Advanced Fairness Face Wash:

Even though it didn’t show any fairness effect on me, but along with me, my mom also used this face wash (she has medium skin tone), but I couldn’t notice any fairness effect on her, hence this is a false claim. I really don’t think fairness creams or face washes ever work.
Like most of the face washes, it also has a typical smell which I don’t like.

Will I Repurchase Revlon Touch and Glow Advanced Fairness Face Wash?

Not this one. I am not sure if they have face wash for oily skin. If there is one, I will surely try that.

Packaging:

The Revlon Pimple Corrector comes in a simple, small sized, white-coloured “squeezy” tube with a blue screw off cap. It has a pin-point/narrow tip which helps in dispensing the right amount of product for each application.

The tube is quite handy and is great for carrying on travel too.

My Experience with Revlon Touch & Glow Pimple Corrector:

I haven’t really tried much from the Revlon skin care range, as I believe their real/main forte is cosmetics. I can pick their cosmetics without even looking for reviews or without second thoughts, but this time when I checked the Revlon counter, I ended up picking up this pimple corrector and their age defying day lotion, on the SA’s recommendation.

I get breakouts/pimples every now and then, like one settles and I see another two popping out :headbang:. I mostly use dermatologist-prescribed ointments and gels to settle my breakouts, which are basically very strong chemical composition. So, I thought I should take a break from them and try this product.

Revlon Pimple Corrector is a lightweight, clear/transparent gel which can be used for spot treatment. It has a mild, mix of herbal and chemical smell, nothing very bothering.

Being lightweight, it seeps into the skin quickly. It dries off clear, does not feel sticky/greasy on the skin. This makes the product good enough to be worn under makeup.

Coming to the most important part, whether it works or not! I would say, it does an okay job and nothing I would call/consider miraculous! When I use it on the breakouts/pimples in their nascent stage i.e., when they are just starting to grow or develop, it does control them from getting worse and prevents them from increasing in size. On already existing breakouts, it works at a very slow pace, dries them off in 4-5 days and I would not consider it great for instant relief.

Overall, it’s an average product. I will finish off this tube, but I doubt I will be repurchasing it again. If you get occasional pimples/breakouts, you may give this a shot to heal to them.

Dries off clear, without leaving a cast or getting sticky, so can be worn under makeup.
Handy, convenient-to-use packaging.

Does not give instant relief from pimples and does not dry them up very quickly.

This shade is Raisin Glaze. This is a sheer warm golden red with gorgeous gold shimmer. It kind of looks like being in the brown family too.

My Experience with Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss – Raisin Glaze:

I really like the packaging. It looks almost like a Chanel or a Dior. It comes in a square plastic tube with a black cap. The transparent packaging helps to see the shade. It comes with a doe-foot applicator which aids in easy application. Also, the consistency is simply awesome. The fact that it has some different kind of shimmer in it makes it go so smoothly on the lips that it looks like glass or water, actually it gives a very glazed effect. You could pair this over different lipsticks to get the desired look. I really can go on and on about it. too bad Revlon decided not to make it anymore.

Pros of Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss – Raisin Glaze:

This particular shade looks very regal. I have never seen any golden-brown shade like this. I have never repeated any cosmetic item, but I got this thrice.
The gloss is very slick and the shimmer/glitter particles kind of melt on my lips. There is no grittiness at all.
Gives lips a very glam effect.
No taste or smell.
The price is also reasonable. A gloss will last you for months even if you apply every day.
Very sturdy packaging. I accidentally stepped on it once and it did not crack.
I apply different lip liners under it to make it look light, dark, maroon-ish, pinkish.

Cons of Revlon Super Lustrous Lip Gloss – Raisin Glaze:

I won’t recommend it for day time look.
When it starts to expire, it gets sticky.

I just love this shade and I’m searching in different brands for the same shade, love it

Revlon Moisture Stay Lip Color – Plummy Review

How many times we get makeup products just because they look different or promising? I got this lipstick just because of its long and thin packaging. Very few brands have made a lipstick packaging this sleek and easy to apply, so it kind of appealed to me and I instantly ordered it!

Product Description:

High shine, long wear lip color that helps the lips to stay soft and smooth.
Vitamin enriched formula that nourishes & heals dry, cracked lips.
Menthol lends a cooling effect to soothe lips.
Moisture stays even after you take the color off.

Price:

$8 for 1.7 grams.

This is a deep chocolate brown lipstick with just a hint of wine. I mainly use it for night-outs or parties. As the name suggests, this is very moisturizing for the lips. As the packaging goes, the slender bullet and long gold case loosk classy. The lipstick is very pigmented and applies very smoothly on the lips. There maybe a hint of mint in the ingredients as it gives a nice tingly sensation when applied. I’m not sure if it plumps up the lips, but sometimes, the tingly sensation causes it.

This lip color contains a very finely milled shimmer, but its not so obvious, but for some reason, Revlon has discontinued this, so I’d advise everyone to look at the manufacturing date before getting this.. This is so richly pigmented that I need to apply only a light layer and it still looks pretty great. It stays for around 3-4 hours. It comes in about 6-7 shades.

Pros of Revlon Moisture Stay Lip Color – Plummy:

Nice pigmentation.
Gives a nice tingly sensation.
Good staying power.
The thin tube is easy to apply.
Can be applied layered or sheer.

Cons of Revlon Moisture Stay Lip Color – Plummy:

Limited availability.
They have a weird scent, mild but I didn’t like it.
I saw on ebay/amazon that they are selling very old expired lipsticks, do check the dates.

Verdict:

I doubt if I will ever find them, but I guess Revlon should start the line again as the quality is really great!

Hi Friends,

I am going to review another lipstick from Revlon today. This lipstick was in my roomies’ collection and I quite liked the colour and this would complement most Indian skin tones quite well. This one is called “Fabulous Fig” from the “Revlon ColorStay Soft and Smooth” range.

My Take on Revlon Colorstay Lip Color – Fabulous Fig 325:

This beauty was one of the great possessions in my friend’s kitty. It used to compliment her face so much. I liked it a lot and I had to buy it. The lipstick is very soft and smooth as is indicated by Revlon and applies smoothly without any flaking. The lipstick does not settle between lines after a few hours. The staying power is quite decent after which it does leave a nice tint. As seen above, the lipstick is a beautiful dark pink shade or dark mauve and is quite pigmented. I have used it so much that it has kind of melted down and I use a lip brush for applying it now.

Pros of Revlon Colorstay Lip Color – Fabulous Fig 325:

Colour is very beautiful and would compliment most Indian skin tones.
Can be worn to office.
Staying power is around 4-5 hours, after which it can be reapplied.
Easy to apply directly or with a brush, glides very smoothly over the lips.
Does not contain any shimmer.
Texture is around 80% matte and 20% creamy.
Easily available even on online stores.

Cons of Revlon Colorstay Lip Color – Fabulous Fig 325:

Very soft and prone to easy breakage when applied with a heavier hand.
Better to apply with a brush as it is very soft.
Price is a little on the higher side.
