My Experience with The Body Shop Floral Acai Body Butter Duo:

I absolutely love the scent of this body butter; it is a floral berry scent, very subtle, delicate and soothing, not at all overpowering. This was the only reason I liked this duo more than the others. The darker half that is for the drier area is less fragrant and moisturizes my knees and elbows very well. The lighter side has a strong fragrance which spreads evenly on applying. I use both the sides before bedtime so that it can soak into the skin and give a luxurious and soft feeling in the morning. It gives a buttery feeling, but gets absorbed very quickly without leaving any oily traces. It doesn’t feel sticky also. I think it’s a perfect combination to take care of dry skin in winters.

What I Like about The Body Shop Floral Acai Body Butter Duo:

It an amazing way to keep your skin feel fresh and soft, taking extra care of the drier areas. No need to have a bunch of creams and lotions.
The light moisturizer works really well, spreads nicely without any sticky oily feeling, leaving your arms and legs soft to touch and floral to smell.
The thick buttery cream serves perfectly in keeping knees, elbows and feet smooth and supple. No extra rubbing required, gets soaked in the skin very easily.
The fragrance is fruity, floral and delicate, not at all overly perfumed.

What I Did Not Like about The Body Shop Floral Acai Body Butter Duo:

I found the quantity very less.
Not suitable for oily-skinned beauties and a big “no” for summer.

Hello Ladies, Hope you all had a great Lohri/Sankranti/Pongal. Here is a review on a product from my most favourite skin care brand, and that is The Body Shop. I was introduced to this brand by IMBB and I fell in love with it trying out so many products and they have rarely failed me and here is another winner. I have already reviewed the Cranberry Body Bath and Shower Gel here on IMBB. Today, I am reviewing the body butter that I got along with it.

About The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Body Butter:

Our famous Body Butter, bursting with the scent of fresh berries. It is quickly absorbed and leaves skin feeling softer and smoother. Our Community Fair Trade cocoa butter comes from cocoa beans harvested by Kuapa Kokoo Co-operative in Ghana. With over 50,000 small-scale farmers, it is one of the biggest fair trade co-operatives in the world. Our trade has helped to fund education and medicine for members and their families. Ingredients:

Instructions:

Massage into the skin and allow to sink in before dressing.

Tips:

Before moisturizing slough away dead skin with one of our amazing Body Polishes and Scrubs.

Price:

Approximately Rs. 1000 for 200 ml. I also saw the small tubs of this for Rs. 515.

Quantity:

200 ml 6.7 OZ (192 g).

Packaging:

Comes in the standard Body Shop body butter tubs. The butters are thick in consistency and cannot be packaged in a tube. I do not like the tub packaging, but have to compromise for the product’s quality. This cranberry range comes in a pretty red colour packaging as it is a Christmas-special range.

My Experience with The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Body Butter:

I love the fragrance of this body butter. It is neither too strong nor too mild. The texture is just amazingly soft. It glides onto the skin like butter. The cream is of light pink colour. I generally prefer body lotions to body butters because I feel the texture is too thick and it gets greasy when applied and takes a lot of time to get absorbed completely. This has happened to me with a lot of body butters from The Body Shop. Surprisingly, this one is not greasy at all. It gets absorbed quickly and leaves a soft finish on the skin. The fragrance lasts all day. These are not easily available in India throughout the year, but just during Christmas. I grabbed the entire cranberry set again this year.

Pros of The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Body Butter:

Excellent fragrance.
Not very thick like other body butters.
Easily absorbed.
Not greasy.
Fragrance lasts all day.
Leaves the skin smooth and silky.

Cons of The Body Shop Cranberry Joy Body Butter:

Price.
Non-availability in India.

This is my first tiny-mini haul post. Recently, there was promotion going on in The Body Shop for body butters, approximately 50% discounted price for three body butters. I had read a lot about body butters from The Body Shop and was just waiting for the sale and here it was, I remember I went there the first day of the promotion:D

I was also accompanied by my friend. She also bought the same, all the points were added to my membership card and I got the redemption of 100 HKD more.

So, looking around in the shop, I found the:

The Body Shop Spa Wisdom On a high Hydrating Puree

When I was in Sydney (for my higher education), I would call this TBS Spa Wisdom Body Lotion my best buddy during summers. I first came across The Body Shop when I was in Sydney. Whenever I crossed their store, the yummy fragrance of their body butters invited me to their shop. There were so many times that I would go, have a look around the shop and come back empty handed as I was a student then and never felt like buying anything from my part-time earnings.

The first time my aunt gifted me this body lotion, I fell in love with this and ended up buying it again and again. My cousin who visited me recently knew that I love this one and got one for me. The packaging of this hydrating puree comes in a convenient pump dispenser bottle. Though it is not travel friendly, I like the packaging so much. I am not sure about the price and also I doubt the availability in India. We have other variants like the African Spa Wisdom but not this one, I wish we get this here pretty soon.

The lotion is a baby pink-colored one and looks so tempting in the bottle. When I smelled, it gives a mild rose water fragrance that mesmerized me. No need to talk about the fragrance much as it is a TBS product !! I really love the fragrance so much. I take a generous amount of the lotion and use it as my skin is dry. It is a light lotion, so I guess it would better suit people with oily skin. Even in summers, I have to re-apply the lotion once or twice, so this is absolutely not to be used during winters.

Pros of The Body Shop Spa Wisdom On a high Hydrating Puree:

Amazing rose water fragrance that is very mild and soothing.
The fragrance stays on for a while.
Easy-to-use pump dispenser.
Baby pink lotion looks attractive.
Not tested on animals.
The lotion gets absorbed quickly in the skin and thus application doesn’t take much time.

Cons of The Body Shop Spa Wisdom On a high Hydrating Puree:

Not very moisturising. This is my summer moisturizer, that too not in India. I prefer a better or heavier moisturizer than this.
Not travel friendly.
Nonavailability in India.
Pricing is a bit high. Though I am not very sure about the price, it should be around Rs. 1000 for 250 ml.
I need a lot of this lotion every time as I have dry skin, so I finish up the bottle pretty soon.

Will I Repurchase The Body Shop Spa Wisdom On a high Hydrating Puree?

The sole reason that would tempt me to buy this is the fragrance and nothing else. So, I stopped getting this. This bottle was a gift and thus I am still having one. People with oily skin might like this. I have super dry skin and thus I do not prefer this much. I prefer TBS body butters to be perfect for my dry skin, so I might end up buying more body butters and not this hydrating puree anymore.

The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover

Hey Everyone,

Today, I will be reviewing this amazing eye makeup remover which I use everyday to remove my eye makeup.

Price:

Rs. 495 for 250 ml.

Packaging:

It comes in a regular body shop 250 ml bottle with a nice flip-flop cap but the bottle is opaque, so you can’t actually see how much quantity is left.

You can see that it is transparent and very watery and creates a foam if I shake the bottle too much. I got it in July and I use it everyday to remove my eyeliner and kajal and still more than half of the bottle if left. So, I really don’t mind shelling out that 500 for an eye makeup remover. This one is going to last me a long time.

One more major reason is very little product is required to remove my eye makeup. It works well on waterproof makeup too, no need for rubbing or anything, just a gentle wipe of it is enough to remove my eye makeup. It has a little weird kind of a smell, but nothing much of a problem though. It is meant for all skin types. I have sensitive skin, but I didn’t have any kind of a rash or anything and its safe for contact lens wearers too. It does make my eyes feel very soft after I use it. Overall, I like this product a lot.

The pic on the left shows my Chambor eye tattoo liner in ET 02 swatched thrice on the back of my hand. The pic on the right shows The Body Shop Eye Makeup Remover swiped lightly over it once.

The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover:

It removes make up in one go.
The quantity is a lot.
It does live up to its claim of softening my eyelids.
It is meant for all skin types.

Cons of The Body Shop Camomile Gentle Eye Make-Up Remover:

I don’t like the smell.

This is my first haul post on IMBB. Initially, I was a little hesitant to give a haul post, but with Jomol’ s encouragement, I am writing this. So, this post is completely dedicated to Jomol

A little introduction about the haul. All the products shown in the pictures are purchased online. I am an online shopaholic and buy anything online from pens to eyeliners to brushes and creams. For my office mates, I am their online shopping wikipedia (a little exaggeration here, but sorry I couldn’t find any other word).

So, the purchases are listed according to the sites from which they were bought, in the order of the date of purchase

Last but not the least, this is my favorite of all, I didn’t buy this, in fact, a friend gifted these to me. Actually, I asked her to get me the TBS Seaweed Toner after reading Nupur’s review, but my sweet friend after reading Rati’s review on TBS Strawberry Body Polish got me this too. Isn’t she very sweet?

This was an offline purchase and I love it so much!!

Though online shopping is more convenient and offers many discounts, I love to shop from stores much more, but unfortunately most of the above products are not easily available, that’s why I do so much online shopping and these online sites tempt me with a lot of offers.

So, that was my haul in November. Well, not sure if it can be called a haul compared to what you people do.

Hello Everybody! This is my first post on IMBB and I’m very excited. I’ve been following IMBB for more than 6 months now and I’m so happy that I’m finally going to be a part of this lovely family.

I was wondering which product to start off with and I noticed The Body Shop Satsuma Puree Body Lotion standing alone on my shelf. So, I picked it up and here’s the review.

What is The Body Shop Satsuma Puree Body Lotion?
“Cooling and refreshing, this lightweight non-greasy gel, with fabulously fruity and juicy natural ingredients, absorbs easily to instantly hydrate and moisturise.”
Suitable For:
Normal Skin Types.

Price: Rs. 495 for 250 ml (I got at Rs. 396, i.e., 20% off during Diwali ). I think the price has been hiked recently to Rs. 515 (not sure about it).

My Take on The Body Shop Satsuma Puree Body Lotion:

The Body Shop is well known for their great-smelling products and this one isn’t any different, smells just AMAZING! In fact, it was just the smell that pushed me into buying it. It smells just like “freshly peeled ripe orange” and honestly, fruity smells are so totally “my thing.” I still remember being asked if I’d eaten an orange before coming to class the day I wore this lotion to college:P, but sadly enough, this product hasn’t really gained too much of my love, although it lives upto almost all of its claims.

As the product claims, it is cooling when you apply it and lightweight too as it disappears within seconds of application on the skin leaving a thin film of “barely there” moisturization, which I don’t really like. I like it when I can actually feel the lotion on my body as it assures me of being well moisturized, but I can’t really complain about this because this one is meant for normal skin and my skin is super dry, especially the skin on my body. So, this might be useful for normal/oily skinned beauties. Also, one thing I completely dislike is that, it’s kind of sticky! I sweat a lot and water just makes things worse. I feel as though I have applied glue onto my palms.

After spreading The Body Shop Satsuma Puree Body Lotion:

Apart from sticky feeling, the moisturizing effect lasts just for about 3—4 hours after which you would have to re-apply the lotion and well, that is made easy since the bottle comes with a pump dispenser with a locking system to it, making it travel friendly.

What I Like about The Body Shop Satsuma Puree Body Lotion:

The fragrance!!!! I am head-over-heels in love with its smell.
Travel-friendly packaging.
Lightweight texture.
Cost-effective considering the quantity.
The fact that your skin feels silky, smooth and moisturized in just a matter of seconds.

The Things I Do Not Like about The Body Shop Satsuma Puree Body Lotion:

The stickiness!!!! Yuck. It stayed on till I washed my hands off.
Not suitable for dry-skinned girls.
In my opinion, a body lotion should be a tad more richer than this. This is kind of watery which makes it not too suitable for the entire body.

Would I Repurchase The Body Shop Satsuma Puree Body Lotion:

Even though it gives a nice finish and disappears within seconds after applying, I wouldn’t buy this, thanks to all the stickiness it leaves behind. I’d love to try the strawberry variant of the puree lotions next. or maybe the Satsuma Body Butter since I’m smitten by the smell. :drool:

Hope you are all doing well. Today, I am going to review The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Lip Butter. So, here goes my review.

The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Lip Butter.

Price:

Rs. 245 for 10 ml.

Ingredients:

Butyrospermum Parkii, Ricinus Communis Seed Oil, Brassica Campestris/Aleurites Fordii Oil Copolymer, Cera Alba, Citrus Medica Limonum Seed Oil, Lanolin, PEG-8, Bees wax, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Limonene, Silica, Aroma, Tocopheryl Acetate, Ammonium Glycyrrhizate, Tocopherol, Citral, Eugenol, Linalool, Citric acid, CI 77891, CI 19140.

Product Description:

A rich, intensive moisturizer for the lips with luscious lemon seed oil. Its creamy butter-like texture melts onto the lips to help prevent dryness, leaving them feeling soft and smooth.

My Experience with The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Lip Butter:

I have dry lips and I literally hoard lip balms. I wanted to try TBS Shea Lip Butter, but, unfortunately it was out of stock, so I decided to buy the lip butter from their sweet lemon range. It is a clear lip butter and I am quite disappointed with this lip butter as it doesn’t intensely moisturize my lips as claimed and my lips feel quite dry after the lip butter wears off. The staying power of this lip butter is also low as it stays on my lips for just about an hour without eating and drinking. The only good thing about this product is the smell, it is citrusy and refreshing.

Pros of The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Lip Butter:

The smell of the lip butter is refreshing.

Cons of The Body Shop Sweet Lemon Lip Butter:

It is quite expensive.
It doesn’t provide intense moisturization as claimed.
Tub packaging.
Staying power is low.

The Body Shop Moisture White UV Protection Cream

Product Claims:

Daily UVA/B protection. Softens skin and helps prevent uneven skin pigmentation. This sunscreen lotion is a pick from the Moisture White Range of The Body Shop product range. TBS promises to give you skin that looks fairer in just four weeks.

Price and Quantity:

Rs. 1595 for 30 ml.

Shelf Life:

3 years.

Best for all skin types. SPF 25PA+++.

This sunscreen claims to protect your skin from UVB rays that causes sunburn and also from UVA that may cause long term skin damage. The PA ranking refers to the amount of protection the sunscreen offers from UVA rays. PA rankings are listed as PA+, PA++, PA+++. The more +’s, the more protection from UVA rays. So, for more protection, it is always advisable to choose a sunscreen which gives you protection from both UVA & UVB rays.

I must tell you that before picking this one I had done all this research. Another important point I would like to mention here is that we should always apply sunscreen liberally around 30 minutes before going outdoors and reapply every 2 hours. I know it is kind of tedious and frankly even I skip doing that most of the times, but we should try to follow.

Ingredients:

Shiso: It’s an unique Japanese herb which reduces the early melanin making signals before they trigger hyper pigmentation process.

Vitamin C and Liquorice: reduces the pigmentation at deepest epidermal layers of skin. Liquorice is a purple & white flower which is used for skin treatments.

Aloe: Soothing the skin and restoring its translucent complexion.

BATYL ALCOHOL: Helps to reduce skin response to the melanin attack on the skin.

What I Love about The Body Shop Moisture White UV Protection Cream:

I was feeling great on picking such a luxurious sunscreen with such sumptuous ingredient list and after some R&D about them, gave me a sense of satisfaction that my money is well spent. It’s like you have already won half the battle. Now, it was just a matter of applying it regularly and I was hoping to avoid all the tanning this summer. The texture is not at all creamy; in fact, on applying, you will definitely get a slight whitish cast to your face, which during the day time is quite visible and as the texture is not creamy, you have to really work hard to rub it and spread it everywhere, but I have observed that in a while, it gets absorbed by the skin and you are back to normal.

I don’t feel itchiness or irritation, neither does it cause me any breakouts. It’s not making my T-zone oily and gives my face a matte effect. Now, let’s talk about fragrance, I must say it has a very subtle fragrance, mostly it seems like you are smelling some chemicals. So, not so pleasant!

Pros of the The Body Shop Moisture White UV Protection Cream:

I really liked the properties of this lotion, as it is a full spectrum sun block which protects you from UVA/B rays.
It’s oil free, hence suitable for all skin types.
It does not heavy feel on skin.
It’s a small and very handy tube.

Cons of the The Body Shop Moisture White UV Protection Cream:

I found it too extravagant; I think I can get an alternative at a cheaper price too.
At times, it becomes really difficult to spread the cream, it dries too quickly.
Overall, I do like this sun block and it gives very satisfying results.

I am back on IMBB after a long break and I have loads of products to review here.This one is about a recent TBS product that I purchased and it is the tea tree foaming cleanser.

About the Product:

A refreshing instant foaming cleanser to gently but effectively cleanse the skin, removing make-up, dirt and impurities. Regular use helps keep skin blemish free, refreshed and calm.

Ingredients:

Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser contains the following key ingredients. Community Trade tea tree oil from The Kenya Organic Farmers’ Association (KOOFA) – Has natural purifying antibacterial properties. Is grown in the foothills of Mount Kenya. Helps to strengthen and develop the local economy and create vital employment on the farms, providing opportunities for local people to stay in their community White willow extract – Contains a natural salicylic acid that helps to effectively clear and tone the skin. Menthol – Creates a cool tingling sensation on the skin. Leaves skin feeling refreshed.

Aqua (Solvent/Diluent), Cocamidopropyl Betaine (Surfactant), Polysorbate 20 (Emulsifier), Coco-Glucoside (Surfactant), PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil (Emulsifier), Melaleuca Alternifolia Leaf Oil (Natural Additive), Glycerin (Humectant), Calophyllum Inoph.

How To Use?

Wet the face with clean water. Massage onto the face and neck using your fingertips. Rinse off with clean water and pat skin dry.

Packaging:

I mainly purchased this as the pump bottle was very attractive and I felt that it would be handy for travel purpose. The packaging is great. The bottle has never leaked. I usually take 4 pumps of the product to wash my face.

Price and Quantity:

Well, I have been using the gel cleanser of the same brand and felt that this is of much lesser quantity. Every time, I have to take 4 pumps of it, and only then, I feel like my face is clean. It comes in a 150 ml bottle for Rs. 595 whereas the gel cleanser costs Rs. 425 for 250 ml.

My Experience with The Body Shop Tea Tree Foaming Cleanser:

This is the first time that I am using a foaming face wash and I must say I hate it. I don’t even feel like there is some product on the face. The fragrance is the same as the gel cleanser, but it has not done anything to reduce or prevent pimples. I bought this mainly for travel as the gel cleanser comes only in a bottle. I have loved TBS products but am disappointed with this one.

Would I Repurchase?

Never.
