Today, I will be reviewing The Body Shop’s Wild Cherry Body Butter.I have previously reviewed The Body Shop Wild Cherry Body Scrub too.

My Experience with The Body Shop Wild Cherry Body Butter:

I have a whole Wild Cherry Range from The Body Shop and I am fairly pleased with them.  This body butter is very moisturizing without being too greasy, spreads and absorbs fairly well and is good for both summer and winter use. I found the scent of this body butter too strong and sort of like a synthetic cherry chap stick . It smells sweet but not in an appealing way. The consistency is just fine, like a thicker version of lotion. I would put the consistency at being an average thickness, not being too thin or too thick. It is on the thinner side, so it can be spread on larger areas without using too much product. While the scent may not be my favorite, I do love how moisturized it leaves my skin and how easy it is to use.

Pros of The Body Shop Wild Cherry Body Butter:

• Moisturizes fairly well.
• Non-greasy.
• Light consistency, thinner than most other body butters.
• Preservative free.

Cons of The Body Shop Wild Cherry Body Butter:

• I dislike the smell, but it’s my personal preference, some might enjoy it.
• Better if you get it during sale.

Full Ingredients:

Our Community Fair Trade marula oil comes from the ripened fruit of the marula tree in Namibia. The fruits are hand-selected and the nuts are extracted and allowed to dry in the sun. The moisture-rich kernels are cold-pressed by hand to release the oil.

My Experience with The Body Shop Lip Balm Stick – Pink Berry:

So, every weekend, I try to drop by in Delhi, crashing at my roomies house and having a blast in general. So, I was there again last weekend and because my roomies house is close to Select City Walk, we go there every time, and went again this time.

A month before, I had lost my wallet (my beautiful purple Charles & Keith, I miss you, baby) and along with that went all my loyalty cards. So, I had to drop by at The Body Shop to get mine re-issued and at the check-out corner, they had tantalizingly arranged their selection of famous Born Lippy Lip Balms but in stick form. Hallelujah! The one and only part I hate about their Born Lippy balms is the hygiene factor as you must dip in your hand and scoop out the product, leaving a film of balm on your pinky finger, but thankfully, because of this twist that problem will finally be over.

The lip balm comes in a lip-stick style twist-up form. It has a transparent cap with comic-esque speech bubbles saying various things like “LOL”, “HIMYM”, “OMG!” etc. I picked up their pink berry balm which said “OOOH” and looked pretty cute. So, the pink berry balm is sheer (thank God because I am not too much of a fan of tinted balms, they don’t really suit me) and has an incredible staying power. A lot of times I put it on and go to sleep and wake up the next morning with it still on! It moisturizes my lips well. However, I do miss the thick consistency of the Born Lippy lip balm pots.

It has a cute packaging and it’s small and easy to carry. The plastic cap is tight and secure. Although, I do wish it had some SPF protection.

Pros of The Body Shop Lip Balm Stick – Pink Berry:

• Sweet smell.
• Sheer balm, no tint.
• Great moisturization.
• Nice packaging and travel friendly.
• Hygienic!
• Great staying power.

Cons of The Body Shop Lip Balm Stick – Pink Berry:

• No SPF content.
• Smell doesn’t last too long.

The Body Shop Brow Definer – Dark Brown

I am blessed with very few brow hairs like my mom.  She is always on the lookout for products that would enhance my brows and increase my “brow” hair growth.

I was using black pencil during my college days.  It was my mom who found out through some source and told me that brown over black gives a natural look for Indians. Since then, I started following the same technique with pencils from different brands.

I have been using brown pencil alone on my brows as one of my friend who is a beautician suggested to me to use only brown as my hair color is not very intense black, but sometimes I wear black over brown just for a change, but I make sure that I use less of black and more of brown.

This slim line pencil shapes and defines eyebrows.  Defines brows.  Dermatologically tested.  Ophthalmologically tested.

How To Use:

Draw through the brows. Use short feathery strokes, following the direction of hair growth.

I got this for 44 SR (Rs. 465 on Indian TBS Website).

My Take on The Body Shop Brow Definer – Dark Brown:

This brow definer is named 03 – Dark Brown Shade. It is also available in 01- Blonde and Aubum, 02- Brunette shades. I think 03 would suit Indians.  I have used this for more than four months and I am completely satisfied with the brow definer.

How I Use TBS Brow Definer Pencil:

• Brush brows up and away from the face using a baby toothbrush/eyebrow brush/clean mascara wand.
• Draw small strokes from the centre of the brows and then fill in starting areas of the brows and its end.
• Repeat the same for the next brow.

Pros of The Body Shop Brow Definer – Dark Brown:

• Gives most natural look.
• Very creamy in texture.
• Stays intact for the whole day.
• Comes with the metallic cap. I had a pencil from another brand with plastic cap which broke within a few months of usage.
• TBS does not test on animals.
• Availability is not an issue as TBS outlets are available worldwide.

Cons of The Body Shop Brow Definer – Dark Brown:

• Expensive.
• It would be better if it has a sharpener too.

Final Verdict:

I would highly recommend this brow pencil to anyone who needs a pencil to enhance their brows.  Though I absolutely love this product, I may not buy this product again as I am very much happy with the TBS Brow and Definer Kit, which I have reviewed recently. This pencil does help in filling the gap, but not as much as the TBS Brow and Definer kit‘s powder does, but I would say that this is the best among brow pencils that I have used.

My Experience with The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask:

I am a huge fan of Body Shop products, mostly because I like that they support under-appreciated farmers and have a “no animal testing” policy. I am always on the lookout for a chance to buy their products and when I came across this, I immediately bought it.

It has a texture which is sort of in the middle of a cream and a cooling gel. It’s not like a typical face mask, the skin basically just absorbs it in, in seconds and it leaves the face non-greasy but shiny. A little bit goes a long way, trust me. The direction says to apply and blot or wash it off after 10 minutes, but considering that I have very dry to combination skin, I leave it on overnight and the next morning, my skin feels so soft and hydrated. It doesn’t help much with the dry and flaky spots on my nose and other areas. I just use it once a week as I have noticed using it more than that makes pimples appear on my T zone. The smell is quite light and refreshing and I feel it almost smells like roses. Just keep in mind to stay away from this product if you have oily skin. On the other hand, this product is ideal for dry skin.

Pros of The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask:

• It is nongreasy.
• Leaves skin feeling cool and refreshed.
• Light texture.
• A little goes a long way, DO NOT use a lot.
• Does help with dryness with prolonged use.

Cons of The Body Shop Vitamin E Sink-In Moisture Mask:

• Expensive, do try to get it during sale.
• Contains parabens, I try to refrain from using too much of those products.
• Not suitable for oily skin.

My Views on The Body Shop Natrulift Firming Eye Roll On:

The Body Shop is a brand that I always like and they have promotions on their website all the time.  This product is targeted for the care of under eye area; for cooling, hydrating and brightening of under eye area.  The packaging attracted me the most, a very tempting Red.  I love the packaging.  Its active ingredient is pomegranate. The pomegranate peel provides an ingredient similar to retinol , reducing the appearance of fine lines around the eye area. The product resembles the Garnier roll on, just like a fat pen and when you unscrew the top, you will see a metal-like roll-on tip.

I apply it daily and it feels very cool around my eyes and I love it.  The roll on has a transparent formula and it dries quickly.  It doesn’t hinder my eye makeup and I like this feature about it.  I apply Vitamin E moisturising Eye Cream after applying this.  I didn’t notice any irritation with this roll on.  I keep this next to my laptop and apply it during the day or night when my eyes needs to feel refreshed from too much computer work. This is a refreshing product that imparts a super cool feel and it hydrates my under eye area really well.  I even think it helped a little with the dark circles under the eyes.

• Easy to carry around.

I recommend this product for people who sit before computer screens for long durations.  They will find it more effective as it can be used whenever their eyes feel tired.

My Experience with The Body Shop Wild Cherry Body Scrub:

I got this scrub as one of my wedding gifts along with The Body Shop Wild Cherry Shower Gel and The Body Shop Wild Cherry Body Butter.  It has smaller as well as bigger exfoliants which I guess are the kiwi seeds and walnut shells respectively in a gel-like base.

It does its job of exfoliating very well and unlike the The Body Shop Shea Body Scrub which I reviewed earlier, the exfoliants do not melt away into the skin.  They stay for as long as you do not shower them off, which gives you time to do as much exfoliation as you might require. The smell is very strong and lingers for hours after shower. It might be bothersome for some people, but I personally find the smell too strong and irritating. After using the product, my skin does feel very dry, so I need a lot of body butter follow up. But after one use, the skin does stay smooth for weeks. Overall, an average product, not so good and not that bad either.

Pros of The Body Shop Wild Cherry Body Scrub:

• Does exfoliation very well.
• A lot of product is not required for a single use.
• Smell lingers for a long time.
• Not tested on animals.

Cons of The Body Shop Wild Cherry Body Scrub:

• Leaves skin dry.

My Experience with The Body Shop Brow and Liner Kit:

I am blessed with scanty and uneven eyebrows .  I have no hair at the center in both the brows  :-( Since many years, I have been using pencils to fill in, but I was not at all satisfied.

When I read good reviews about this kit, I went into TBS many times to get this, but the particular shade that I wanted was always out of stock.  I began hunting it at the two other TBS outlets quite far and was lucky to get this brow kit a few weeks ago.

Initially, I didn’t know how to use the brush as I have not used any brush other than a lipstick brush. Through trial and error method, I found out how to apply this brow and liner kit to achieve a look that I wanted.  I want a very natural look and at the same time, I need my brows to look filled in and uniform.

How I Use The Body Shop Brown and Liner Kit:

• I brush the brows up and away from the face using a baby toothbrush/eyebrow brush/clean mascara wand.
• I take the brown color using the angular brush and draw small strokes from the center of the brows and then fill in the starting areas of the brows and wherever I find scanty hair.
• I take the same brown color using the thin straight brush and draw small strokes in the end.
• I take the black color using the thin straight brush and draw small strokes on top of brown-color and make sure black is not applied more.
• I repeat the same procedure for the next eye and brush again to make it uniform.

Some Tips:

• Always apply strokes along the hair growth and make it short.
• Any brush can be used depending upon one’s requirement.
• If your hair color is not very black, you can wear brown color alone. Black color topped over brown color gives a natural look and more suitable for Indians, but when black is used more, it gives an artificial look.

Pros of The Body Shop Brow and Liner Kit:

• This particular brow kit contains two shades, Black and Dark Brown (Shade 03).
• Excellent, sturdy and travel-friendly packaging. Mirror attached.
• Has two brushes, angular brush with more, thick, slightly angular bristles and straight brush with thin and a few bristles.
• Has a carton inside which keeps brushes and both the shades in place.
• It is very much creamy in texture; gives the most natural look, but can also be used to create a dramatic look.
• Stays intact for the whole day, never smudged or faded out.  It comes off only when I use a face wash or a cleanser.
• Takes only a few minutes to apply.
• This kit will last for a long time as only a little quantity is required for a single application.
• Availability is not an issue as Body Shop outlets are found throughout the globe.

Cons of The Body Shop Brow and Liner Kit:

• Quite expensive.
• I think those who have professional makeup brushes may not find this brush very effective, but those who do not use more brushes like me will find this comfortable, though it would take a few days to get it all right.

Final Verdict:

I would definitely repurchase this as long as TBS outlets have this and would highly recommend this brow and liner kit to those with scanty eyebrows like me.

The Body Shop Natrulift Firming Day Cream

Hope your weekend was nice, mine was AWESOME!

I did some street shopping from Sarojini Nagar and GK M block after ages and got some super cool stuff (haul post coming up soon)! With the Zaras, F21s, Mangos, and Promods, I realized that it had been ages since I went for some good old Delhi street shopping.  I should definitely go for it more often, it’s such an enjoyable experience! Case in point being these two conversations I had with random shopkeepers:

Conversation# 1:

Me: Bhaiya, yeh kitne ka hain?
SK: Rs. 395, lena hain?
Me: Nahi.
SK: Mat lo phir, humein kya? Maine toh behen samajhke price bataya tha. :teeth

Conversation# 2:

After haggling for a bit, I managed to get a Zara ripoff top for Rs. 120

SK: Madam, kuch toh socho, chalo 150 de do.
Me: Nahi bhaiya, 150 foreigners ko batana, main toh 120 hi doongi. :haanji:
SK: Madam aap bahut shaatir aurat ho. :zombiekiller:

Coming to my review, I am going to review the TBS Natrulift Firming Day Cream. As usual the “dibbi” doesn’t give a lot of information. So, this is what the website says about it:

• Best if you want to: Minimize fine lines, smooth wrinkles and leave skin feeling firmer and hydrated with a day cream that moisturizes for up to 12 hours.

How It Works:

• Has a temporary lifting effect: skin is plumper and hydrated.
• Pomegranate seed oil moisturizes skin and is rich in antioxidants to help minimize the damage cause by environmental aggressors.
• Community Trade Brazil nut oil moisturizes and softens skin.

About The Body Shop Natrulift Firming Day Cream:

This is one of those products that I just picked up on a whim because the jar looked so pretty! I am just peeking past the dreaded 30s and don’t think I need an anti-ageing cream just yet!

I picked up the small 15 ml jar that costs Rs. 475 I think. I wasn’t particularly looking for an anti-ageing product, but did want to try this out because it claims to have a plumping effect! So, thought of picking up the “chhotu” jar. Look how cute it is!

My Experience with The Body Shop Natrulift Firming Day Cream:

Well, apart from being in love with the cute jar, I do love the creamy texture of this.. errm cream.  I have oily/combination skin and I wasn’t sure if it was going to break me out. So, I did my usual cleansing and toning and then applied this cream. It did feel quite greasy and heavy when I applied it initially, but after 5 minutes, when I applied my foundation, lo and behold, my skin did look plump and felt super soft and my foundation glided like a dream! My skin looked very soft and smooth and I noticed a plumping and firming effect.

Please note that it does not act as a primer, but just smoothens out the face. It does not do anything to make your makeup last longer.  In fact, after 4-5 hours, I did notice my face T-Zone getting oily.

Pros of The Body Shop Natrulift Firming Day Cream:

• Does have a noticeable plumping and smoothening effect as the product claims.
• Divine smell, this cream smells like pomegranate and it lingers on for a while.
• Although I have combination/oily skin, it did not break me out after 2 weeks of regular usage.
• Has improved the texture of my skin to some extent and it feels very smooth and firm (I have used it for 2 weeks regularly and then for another 2 weeks off and on).
• Helps in smoother makeup application.
• Available in 2 sizes, so you can try the smaller jar of 15 ml if you want to give it a try.

Cons of The Body Shop Natrulift Firming Day Cream:

• May not suit oily/acne prone skin as the texture is kind of heavy and greasy. The serum from the same range might be lighter for oily-skinned gals.
• Makes skin oily after 4-5 hours.
• The smell is kind of strong, so if you don’t like that, skip this.
• Some may find it pricey as the 15 ml jar costs Rs. 475.
• It’s a jar, so you have to dip your fingers to get the cream out.

IMBB Rating:

4.5/5 for me. Love it!

Will I Repurchase The Body Shop Natrulift Firming Day Cream?

I might give the serum a try next.

The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Body Butter

I love roses :rose: :rose: :rose: :rose: and The Body Shop has this amazing range which I’m in love with for the past 2 years now.  I have already reviewed The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Body Mist and in conjunction, I bought this body butter in December and after finishing it all up , here comes the review.

Product Description:

Soften your skin all over with a beautiful 24-hour moisturizer infused with precious oil from hand-picked roses.  Best for- normal/dry skin.

Price:

Rs. 775 for 200 ml or 192 gm.

Ingredients:

Aqua, Glycine Soja Oil, Butyrospermum Parkii Butter, Cyclopentasiloxane, Orbignya Oleifera Oil, Cetearyl Alcohol, Glyceryl Stearate, PEG-100 Stearate, Glycerin, C12-15 Alkyl Benzoate, Propylene Glycol, Lanolin Alcohol, Parfum, Phenethyl Alcohol, Caprylyl Glycol, Rosa Centifolia Flower Juice, Xanthan Gum, Disodium EDTA, Tocopherol, Citronellol, Geraniol, Limonene, Hydroxycitronellal, Sodium Hydroxide, Linalool, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Rosa Centifolia Flower Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Methylparaben, Butylparaben, Ethylparaben, Isobutylparaben, Propylparaben, CI 14700.

My Take on The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Body Butter:

I bought this body butter in December 2011 to take care of my skin during winters.  I usually used this butter during night time on my hands, feet, and legs.  I also applied it after my “body scrubbing” routines at home.  I love to layer my fragrance when I’m going out, hence its a nice addition to the Body Shop Moroccan Rose Body Mist and Moroccan Rose Shower Gel from the same range.

Pros of The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Body Butter:

• All those who like Moroccan Rose Fragrance Body Mist will love this fragrance too (because it is from the same range )
• It has a fresh rose fragrance, leaves the skin lightly perfumed and soft.
• It has a nice, soft texture and spreads easily.
• The fragrance lasts up to 2-3 hours, after which its very faint, which means until you sniff it, you won’t get the fragrance.
• It has moisturized my skin really well throughout the winters.
• My skin was smooth and there were really no dry patches here and there, elbows and knees too were well moisturized.
• All the good ingredients are at the top of the list which means they are the prime ingredients.

Cons of The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Body Butter:

• The price, for some, might be on the higher side.
• I can’t use it in summers.

I really like this body butter from The Body Shop and this is the first body butter I bought from them (I know I’m damn late!! ) and I really liked it!!!

For summers, I have already bought their Moroccan Rose Body Milk and will review it very soon.

Do I Recommend The Body Shop Moroccan Rose Body Butter?
