Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil Review

The skin care brand “Tatcha” has consistently managed to impress me 🙂 Granted, it is a luxury brand and it’s so expensive (which is bound to make your wallet cry), but their products have the ability to hook you on to them. This review will be yet another such product – “Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil.”

Product Description:
Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil contains a blend of botanical oils that thoroughly cleanse the skin without stripping it of its natural moisture—an essential first step for any skin care ritual. It is formulated with Japanese camellia oil (tsubaki), prized in Asia for centuries for its ultimate moisturizing and antioxidant benefits. It also contains Tatcha’s Hadasei-3 Anti-Aging Complex, a proprietary antioxidant, anti-aging blend of green tea, Okinawa red algae, and Japanese rice bran extracts. It easily rinses away makeup completely, leaving skin fresh and pure without double cleansing.  It is formulated without parabens, sulfates, and phthalates.

My Experience with Tatcha Pure One Step Camellia Cleansing Oil:

Packaging:  The packaging is simplistic yet has a touch of elegance. The bottle is lightweight, made of plastic, with a pump dispenser which also has a locking mechanism.

Texture/Consistency:  This oil is very runny and has a watery consistency, which I wasn’t expecting since this is by all means, still an oil! Not a whole lot of product is required per usage, 1-2 pumps will suffice to melt off a full face of heavy makeup including eye makeup.

Usage:  Once you rub the oil on your dry skin, over a full face of makeup, it begins to break everything down. I even use it all over my eyes and have not experienced any sort of irritation whatsoever. After massaging into the skin for 1 minute or so, I add a bit of water, which turns the oil into a milky emulsion. It is easy to rinse off and no double cleansing or follow up with a foaming cleanser is required as it does not leave a greasy oily film on the skin.

Effectiveness:  This product effectively gets rid of all my makeup in one simple step. This includes even eye makeup and waterproof makeup. Post rinsing, it leaves my dry skin so soft and supple without any hint of dryness or stretchy feeling. It even reduces the amount of dry patches I would see on my skin post washing and prior to using skin care.

Fragrance:  It has a mild herbal-floral scent, which is very soothing.

Overall, this is a fantastic product for normal-dry skin. It effectively takes off all my makeup, leaving my skin moisturized and supple in the process. I couldn’t ask for more! I would purchase it over and over again if it weren’t so dang expensive! (but surely grabbing backups during sale time is an option), I highly recommend this cleansing oil.
