My Experience with The Balm Instain Long Wearing Staining Powder Blush – Swiss Dot:

Packaging:  I am absolutely in love with the packaging of this product.  The whole packing has a cream-red combination, there is an extra outer cover for the blush. The outer cover has exactly the same design as the blush itself.  The blush comes in the typical shape of a notebook. It opens like a book and shuts with a magnetic closure. There is a small cute mirror on the left side of the book and the blush is on the right side which is fairly big in size. There is no applicator inside which is not a con for me as I prefer to use my own brush. The front cover of the blush has the image of a lady with a mirror in her hand. The whole packing is quite handy and I have never had any difficulty while travelling, it stayed intact in my vanity without any damage.

The shade “Swiss Dot” is described as peach on the website, but it looks more like a darker form of coral, a beautiful colour that complements medium and dark skin tones very well. It is a powder blush with a soft and smooth powdery texture. It has a pure matte finish and there is no shimmer or sparkles in it. It gives a beautiful stain on your cheeks with the slightest touch of the brush. It is a super pigmented product so you have to be very careful while applying it. A light stroke on brush will give an intense color pay-off. There is always a tendency to go overboard with this colour as it is highly pigmented which will lead to a clown-like appearance.

When excess amount is taken on the brush, it tends to stain heavily on your cheeks and blending will be out of question.  So, it’s better to start with a light stroke and then build up the colour slowly. I am still an amateur in the forte of applying blushes, still have a long way to go. Now coming to the staying power, it really amazed me. I applied in the morning and it stayed on my face for the whole day. I applied it very lightly with a brush and just blended it outwards towards my ears. This product is going to last a long time for me as only a little is needed for application.

I am glad that I purchased this blush and this one has really changed my outlook towards blushes.  I think every gal should own at least one blush from this range. This will look amazing on medium/dusky skin tones. Even fair skin tones can give it a try if the color is worn in a toned down manner.
