The Body Shop #25 Vineyard Peach Flavored Lip Gloss Review

I do not know what is going on with The Body Shop’s marketing team but with all the sales they have been having, I am half afraid that they are trying to sell everything in store just so they can close out. Like an ‘everything must go’ situation! Thankfully that is of course not true and the honest truth is that they are just amazing when they do have sales (and even when they do not). So here is a dupe of a Lancôme product for you and I have reviewed one other shade (05 Lychee) earlier as well!

Now you need to get yourself in store before you buy any of these lip glosses because this is one of those products where what they show on the website is not completely what you are going to receive, if you are online shopping. In fact, it will be nothing like what you see online! So make sure you swatch in store before you buy! Plus, they are actually only on sale in shops so why buy online when you can save a few good bucks, no? These lip glosses come in clear squeezable plastic packaging with a twist on cap. The application of these is made very easy with the slanted applicator that delivers an even amount of product to your lips. The colour in the tube is actually very true to what peach flesh looks like, especially when it is a super soft and ripe peach.

My experience with The Body Shop #25 Vineyard Peach Flavored Lip Gloss :

I had initially raved quite a bit about the other shade (05 Lychee) that I had earlier reviewed on IMBB from the same line, but my love for this particular shade is not quite the same. As usual you know I am upfront on all my reviews and give you all the important information upfront. So here is how it is. With a 70% off, I love this lip gloss. The price makes me happy. The problem is that each lip gloss in this line differs, which is a very weird property for them to have. Where Lychee was a thick consistency, Peach is actually extremely runny as you can probably notice in the photos. It is extremely liquidy and run everywhere, in fact even in my lip swatches you can make out that it is almost just dripping off my lips and I look like a print ad for Katrina’s mango drink. Of course, I want my lip gloss on my lips and not dribbling all over my chin, making me look like I am possibly missing a few chromosomes, so this feature of this lip gloss is a big no-no for me. The Body Shop has a whole line of these fruity, cute and pocket friendly flavored lip glosses and I tried swatching other colours from this line and each shade is very unpredictable which is super weird!

What I do l like is that these are transparent on application and they are not so much the colour that you see in the tube. This makes it a versatile product which you can use by itself or you can layer them with your favourite lipstick which makes it shiner and taste better as well! The Vitamin E, Vitamin B5 and Community fair trade organic virgin coconut oil only does good things for your lips. My lips always feel so soft as I go through my day after I apply this. I do have to be very sparing with my application because of its runny nature. This Peach flavored lip gloss is an orange shade in the tube, with a hint of a light dirty brown thrown in complimented with lots of different types of very fine glitter. But remember, that is the colour in the tube and that’s not what you will get on your lips. They are very glittery and transparent on the lips, so I imagine people with pigmented lips may not prefer these, but if you needed a little bit of shine, this is as good as it gets. The taste or shall I say smell of this is delicious though!

 

I have to comment on one very impressive ability of this lip gloss, which is its ability to moisturize your lips. My lips are always extremely dry and they start developing these flakes after I apply lip glosses and lipsticks but this product does not cause me any such situation ever! It is rather very hydrating for my lips and even gets rid of those flakes on my dry lips rather than making them appear. I also really like a shimmer and shine this particular colour gives, as long as it is only on my lips and not dripping down on my clothes. The staying power of this is also good, but lip gloss is lip gloss and you need to re apply once you have eaten. This is very different from the Lychee which I fell asleep with on and it did not come off even the next morning. A bonus is always the expiry date printed on this product, I love when companies do this and make my life simple so I know just when I need to throw this out and usually I’ll use that product a lot more when it’s closer to expiry.

This lip gloss does not feel heavy or sticky at all during use and the slanted applicator allows easy application with even delivery. Again, the only problem is this stuff just dripping right out of the tube. But at no time did I feel any need to like shake the tube before application or anything like that. This product is a brilliant dupe for the Lancôme Juicy Tubes (of course they have the same parent company) but with your hair in the wind, Peach probably gets your hair sticking more to your lips than the juicy tubes ever do. The Body Shop ones are cheaper however and the 70% discount still going strong, that is what made me buy from this line again.

I do not think I will repurchase this particular colour and I do not recommend it if it is not on sale! But please do try out other colours in this line and let me know what you think.
