The Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick – Sweetheart Pink

The Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick – Sweetheart Pink (210)

Hello Beautiful Ladies,

Since the day I have started reading IMBB I have become addicted to cosmetics and skin care products especially lip products. I always try to restrict myself and explain myself that I do not need more lip products, but still I end up buying them. I have become crazy for lipsticks and the proof of this is that I already have more than 60 lipsticks, and I surely do not need that much but I still buy more. Huh…it’s purely an addiction.

Now after saying all this, I would like to confirm that today again I will be reviewing a lipstick and it will be from body shop. This is my second lipstick from this brand and till now I love their lip products. The color that I will be reviewing today is called sweetheart pink.

Packaging: It’s one of my favorite packaging as far as lipsticks are concerned and it is mainly because of the reddish pink shade of the lid. The transparency of the lid makes it even more attractive. The base of the lipstick is silver which nicely compliments the lid. The only complain I have with the packaging is that it does not have the color name mentioned on the packaging, it only has the number. The color name is written on the plastic wrap which gets teared off in order to open the packaging.

Ingredients: List of ingredients is not mentioned on the lipstick.

My take on The Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick – Sweetheart Pink

Color: Sweetheart pink is a perfect example of a Barbie pink. Though it’s a beautiful color, it might not suit everyone. It’s kind of a daring color which makes my skin tone looks a shade darker. But this problem can be solved by applying proper makeup. Honestly saying I didn’t like the way it looked on me with a simple BB cream, but when I tried this color with a full makeup face, it looked beautiful. I have so many pinks in my collection and still I can’t stop buying more pinks. This one is also an impulsive buy for me, which I didn’t even swatch before buying. The color has very minute sized silver shimmer particles in it which becomes visible only when the lipstick comes off the lips and no color is left to hide the particles.

Pigmentation: The color has great pigmentation, one simple light handed application is sufficient to get the full color. More coats can be applied further but they do not help to intensify the color, the color almost appears same in 1 or 2-3 swipes. Applying more number of swatches make the lip color looks kind of fake and streaky and makes it look a little more natural blotting paper must be used.
Texture: I have no complains with the texture, as how can I dislike something which is so smooth and soft. The lipstick is so soft that it glides on with almost no efforts. The formulation is sufficiently moisturizing and I do not need to apply a lip balm before this. it is completely non sticky and feels very light on lips.

Staying Power: The color is easily transferable; it does not stay for more than 3 hours with light meals. It transfers everywhere lips touch. The color has slight staining property which helps it to remain visible for 30 more minutes. The silver shimmer particles remain on the lips even 5 hours after application which is kind of good as the lips at least do not look completely undone.

Pros of The Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick – Sweetheart Pink:

• Contains shimmers which are not too big and does help the lipstick to look pearly
• Non sticky
• Moisturizing
• Cute packaging
• Super smooth
• Super pigmentation

Cons of The Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick – Sweetheart Pink

• The lipstick has some kind of fragrance which I personally did not like
• In order to carry this color, the lips need to be perfect, as it can highlight even the minutest lines and flaws on the lips.
• Not so good staying power
• Looks really bad with multiple swipes
• Makes me look 1 shade darker (if not applied with proper makeup). Not a very good color for every skin tone.

Would I buy The Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick – Sweetheart Pink product again?

I liked the formulation and the color as well, but did not like the way it looked on me. So I would rather love to skip it next time, and would go for some other pink.

Do I recommend The Body Shop Colour Crush Lipstick – Sweetheart Pink?

I would recommend these lipsticks, but definitely not this color as this color might not suit everyone.
