The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask Review

Hola amigos,

Today, I have got another Body Shop product for you all. Another item from my TBS haul 😀 It is The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask. TBS has a product range called “Drops of Youth,” which nests under the “Nutriganics” range which fights the first signs of aging. I have not tried any other product the Drops of Youth range, but picked this mask on my recent visit to store. I wanted to try out a sleeping mask and so the selection 🙂

My Experience with The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask:

The Bouncy Sleeping Mask comes in a box, which houses the heavy glass jar and a cute little spatula. I am glad that TBS included a spatula in the packing as the jar packing is definitely unhygienic. The jar is heavy and my wobbly hands are always scared of dropping it on the floor. 😛 Being heavy, the packaging is definitely not travel friendly.

The mask is white in color and has a liquidy-gel like texture which is bouncy. It regains the smooth surface and gives you a feeling of opening a new jar every time. 😛

The product is a little runny and not solid, but difficult to pick up using your fingers as it always slips through. The fragrance is herbal and fresh, but not overpowering and you won’t notice it after a couple of minutes.

Sleeping mask is a product which should be the last step in your night-time skin care regimen. You sleep with the product on and wash it off the next morning. The SA told me that I can apply this instead of my night-time moisturizer, but since I have very dry skin, she told me that I can layer it over my moisturizer too. Only a little bit is needed for application on face and neck and it takes 10-15 minutes to sink into the skin.  Till then, it feels a bit tacky and sticky. In the initial uses, I did use way more product than required and it felt a bit heavy on the skin and took longer time to dry, but gradually, I got hold of the amount required per use. TBS has also made a video, with a rhyme, to perform the “bouncy massage” technique correctly.

Now, coming to the claims – after my first use, my skin did feel smoother, softer and refreshed. I have been using it for more than a fortnight now, but have not noticed any significant changes (SA claimed I would notice huge changes just after a week’s usage!!!).

My skin is definitely more hydrated, but there’s no exceptional glow or bounce. It did not break out or irritate my super sensitive skin and the good news is that I do not find any dry patches on my face anymore. 😀 But also, I did not notice any reduction in my pores or fine lines. I feel this is a good product for providing hydration to your skin and would suit normal to dry skinned beauties, but would be a nice choice for people in their 20’s as after that skin needs more than just hydration.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend The Body Shop Drops of Youth Bouncy Sleeping Mask?

Though I like the product and it does hydrate my dry skin, my skin needs more than just hydration. Also, this jar is going to last me a long time. I do recommend it to girls who like sleeping masks and want extra hydration for the skin, but don’t expect any miracles here. 🙂
