The Body Shop Elderflower Unperfumed Eye Gel Review

Ola Bonita Chica’s!

Everyone by now should know the spiel about our under eye area. It is a ridiculously sensitive area of skin where wrinkles form quickly, are not easy to get rid of and our age can show through as a result of all this. The under eye area can also darken giving you dark circles and even bags can form making this area puffy.

My Experience with The Body Shop Elderflower Unperfumed Eye Gel:

The Body Shop’s unperfumed eye gel is a blessing as it is actually ‘un’ perfumed. I usually stick this in the fridge to increase its effects on my eye bags from crazy hours at work. The product comes in a simple transparent plastic packaging container with a screw top lid. This makes it easy to see how much of the product you have left. I also like that this product is suited for all skin types. Not many companies make such universally acceptable products, so I definitely see this being a bestseller for everyone!

I have sensitive-combination skin and this product has worked well for me without breaking me out or causing any skin irregularities. I like that this is marketed to suit all skin types as this way, I can see a lot of women happier with its use! The Body Shop’s ‘unperfumed’ part means that they have not added any harmful chemicals that might give a pretty smell to the product, but actually end up causing more harm than good. Usually, perfumed products should be avoided by people with sensitive skin and because this is not perfumed this is a bonus for me! This does not mean that this product has no smell! The scent of this is very medical, almost like an anti acne medication or a hint of rubbing alcohol. But, it is not overpowering which is a pleasant surprise.

This product is not drying to the skin in any way. The under eye gets absorbed within a minute of its application and leaves your under eye area feeling cool, refreshed and moisturised. I have used this when I have had to run out of the house quite early in the morning and it gets rid of your puffiness quickly. For this reason I have also used this after some sad moments and shedding a lot of tears, but we will leave that as a secret just between you and me!

Bottom line – it targets puffiness fast and leaves your eyes feeling cool & pampered. Because it is a gel it feels quite watery to the touch and I think there is plenty of product in a jar to last you 2 to 3 months depending on your usage. It does not cause any stinging sensations on use. I have noticed that it could not lighten my dark circles much and that is a bit disappointing. Even my fine lines had not reduced with its use at all. So, this is a definite con! Another thing that I noticed is that as it dries out the skin and it also feels a little sticky. This did not bother me that much, but I can see some people disliking this, especially if they were applying makeup over this afterwards.

Would I Repurchase/Recommend The Body Shop Elderflower Unperfumed Eye Gel?
Until the time I discovered the harmful effect of Parabens, this product used to be a huge favourite of mine. Unfortunately, due to its paraben contents, I cannot recommend this to anyone and have not repurchased it either.
