The Body Shop Fijian Water Lotus Perfume Oil Review

I was so happy to find oil based perfumes at The Body Shop that I instantly picked up two variants. I have already reviewed The Body Shop Atlas Mountain Rose Oil and will be reviewing the other one today. Read on to find out how it fared on me.

My Take on The Body Shop Fijian Water Lotus Perfume Oil:

This perfume oil comes in a cute glass bottle. There is a round, white coloured screw cap at the top, which has a transparent applicator attached to it. The applicator picks up the right amount of this oil perfume everytime I dip it in the glass bottle. Since it comes in a 15ml variant, it is easier to carry it around while travelling.

Coming onto the fragrance, it is a fresh aquatic fragrance. The top notes are mandarin orange, followed by damask rose, sea notes and lotus. The base notes comprise of litsea cubeba, which is a tropical evergreen tree. It is quite a summery scent, which is heady and breezy. It starts as an aquatic fragrance but settles as a more fresh floral one. I directly apply it on my wrist, behind the ears and some at the cleavage with the help of the applicator.

The perfume oil has never caused any irritation on the skin. It stays for a good 6-8 hours. It is an oil based perfume and therefore the longevity is much better as compared to EDT’s and EDP’s which contain alcohol. It is quite a milder scent, which is more suited for day time wear. It gets absorbed within a minute or so. It is advisable that you do not rub the perfume when you apply it at the pulse points because it tends to break the molecules and hence the smell. Let it evaporate or get absorbed.

The sillage is again moderate. For those who are new to fragrances, sillage is the trail of fragrance left behind by the fragrance wearer. After 2 hours or so, the other person can not distinctly make out the scent.
