I am reviewing The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shimmer Lotion today. We always need something extra to stand out in the crowd. So, I use this product – just apply it and get shiny skin, literally. This is the first shimmer lotion that I purchased on my recent trip to the TBS shop. I would like to mention that this is my first post ever!

Its MRP is INR 895 for 250ml. I got it for INR 805(10% discounted rate) as I hold a TBS Loyalty Card.
Packaging:
The lotion comes in a transparent bottle with pump dispenser which I like. I mean, it’s not at least a tub packaging. The pump dispenser has a lock, but it is not quite sturdy. So, I won’t call it travel friendly and it might leak.
My Experience with The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shimmer Lotion:
I rely on The Body Shop a lot. My entire skincare regimen constitutes of loads of products from this brand. First, I would like to mention that I have combination skin on my body, but the skin on the rest of my body is dry. So, when I saw this shimmer lotion in the TBS shop, I thought it might be very light for my skin, but I was quite stunned when I saw how well it moisturized.
I use it normally while going out for dinners or nightclubs, and even to parties. It moisturizes the skin very well, even though my skin is on the dry side, and keeps it hydrated for 6 hours or more. It has an amazing tangy fragrance which lingers on the skin for around an hour or so. But, I think, if you use the shower gel from the same range before applying it, the fragrance may last little longer.
Now, coming to the shimmer effect. The very first day I used it, as I was not sure about the quantity to be applied, I used one pump each for both of my arms, and the glitter was too much to handle. So I had to wash it before going out. So, on the next day I used it, one pump was enough for both the arms and half legs and trust me, it looks super cool with any party dress you wear.
One thing I would like to point out, it transfers easily to the face. So, make sure you do not touch your face much after you use it. It’s best to use this lotion just before going out. I have also noticed that even if it is non greasy, it makes the skin sweat a little. As I stay in Kolkata, the summer here is very humid, so it’s natural to sweat if you are outdoors. But, I observed that it makes my skin sweat even if I am in an air conditioned environment.

Cons of The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shimmer Lotion:
• Packaging is not travel friendly
• The fragrance stays hardly for 1 hour
• Need to watch the quantity applied to avoid too much glitter
• The glitter transfers to face easily
• Induces excess sweating
• Expensive
Would I Repurchase The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shimmer Lotion?
Yes, obviously! It has all the good properties. But, I don’t think I can finish this entire bottle anytime soon.
Would I Recommend The Body Shop Glazed Apple Shimmer Lotion?
Yeah, I surely will. It is a must-have if you are a party hopper.

wow , I love the glitters- it`s great for winter parties and for the collarbones and all…yes , I face the same problem with any lotions , not just body shop – it`s the intense humidity that makes the extra layer of moisturiser unbearable. That is why the body sorbets are a good bet , they come in a gel formula.
Yeah Arja you are right.. N I surely will pick up some Body Sorbets on my next shopping trip!!!
I really love how it looks. But, the thing I didn’t like about it is that it makes you sweat even in ac conditions. :/
You can give it a try though if you are not in a humid climate like Kolkata

Hi, I use a lot of TBS products. Rather I read your review and purchased the Glazed moisturiser but I would like to tell you all who are big fans of TBS, this product might be allergic for you. I developed severe rashes, uncontrollable itching after using this product on one my functions. I really liked the effect but I would like to communicate this to all the people who are going to buy this product without the actual trial. Please do check if its ok for your skin type. I don’t want anybody to suffer like me. I am not against the brand, as I still use a lot of their products and never developed such kind of allergic reactions but I guess because of glitter, it just reacted badly on my body.
