The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Poppy Seed Scrub Review

Hey girls! This time I’m reviewing the newest collection from Body Shop, which launched this Valentine’s Day. It’s the Smoky Poppy collection. They have the usual whole range of shower gel, body butter, lotion, oil, perfume, scrub and mist. With this launch however, they have introduced… bath bombs!!! I recently hauled a few of these and I am going to review them for you guys.

My Experience with The Body Shop Smoky Poppy Poppy Seed Scrub:

As always, you can snag these when there are deals going on. It really brings down the price and is a great way to stock up.

The packaging is probably some of The Body Shop’s best. The sleek black look of the products with the splash of red flower looks absolutely stunning. I don’t know about you but to me, there’s something absurdly s*xy and appealing about black packaging. It looks especially attractive and classy.

The texture of the scrub is slightly greasy with real poppy seeds, not too soft like face scrubs but nice and not too harsh or scratchy. I feel it’s just right to slough off all those dead skin cells. It always leaves me with a nice clean feel and my skin is supple and balanced. I always moisturise after showering but somehow this doesn’t leave my skin thirsting for moisture immediately. That’s a huuuuge plus for me.

Now I have no idea how poppy smells, but the smoky poppy has a nice deep, musky s*xy kinda fragrance. It’s not fruity or floral in any way. In that way, it’s a more masculine fragrance. I love me some fun, floral stuff, but for some reason, I am drawn to this one. There’s just something very different about it. It intrigues the senses. I am definitely loving it. If you can’t decide about it, definitely smell it before buying. It’s LE, so go hit the stores!

What I understand from this collection is The Body Shop’s departure from their usual happy floral scents. They put all the strawberry, blueberry, apple, peach everything behind and they are bringing on a load of muskiness and s*xiness, with both the packaging and the scent. I see a radical difference in this new range. Overall, I am very impressed by this.

I realise that not all people like to use scrubs. You might use them only when it’s cold, or when you have really dry skin. But if you shave your legs or use any other method of hair removal, specially on your legs, I highly recommend exfoliating deeply one day before you do so. You will see a noticeable difference in the way your skin feels. I would never do this before but once I started, I have made this a routine.
