The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Face Wash Review

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Face Wash Review

Hello people,

As I have mentioned before, I purchase face washes like chana- watana. Literally , I need to have one near the basin,in bathroom,at office – needless to say I experiment a lot with them.

I have always been attacked with pesky pimples and as soon as I got to know that tea tree oil helps in curing them, I have been attracted to tea tree products like Rads is to ice cream or Naina to bags.:P

So I got The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Face Wash one fine day and following is my take on it.I have now almost finished using this.

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Face Wash

Here is what The Body Shop has to say about it.

A cleansing gel-based facial wash, suitable for everyday use to help clear and prevent blemishes, removing excess oil without overdrying the skin.

Size: 250.00ml
Price: Rs. 475

Ingredients:
Community Trade organic tea tree oil from Kenya – an ingredient renowned for its anti-bacterial benefits, an infusion perfect to help blemished skin

Tamanu Oil from Madagascar – traditionally used to promote healthy-looking skin and has fantastic skin moisturising properties

Lemon Tea Tree from Kenya – Anti-bacterial to give the products a zesty fragrance

Directions for use:Lather Tea Tree Skin Clearing Facial Wash. Massage gently into face and neck with fingertips in an outward circular motion. Rinse using clean water.(like eneone will use dattyyy water on her precious face!!!)

The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Face Wash

The Face wash is green liquid and every time I use it.I get this cooling effect.I love to use this after i come from the office because the commuting makes my face all dirty and full of grime. It takes of all the dirt and oil and leaves me feeling fresh. It is an excellent face wash for summers. I have to say, it does not prevent pimples.I believe that pimples/acne can be due to various reasons and one of the reasons is clogged pores so this face wash can help in cleaning the face effectively so the chances of having pimples reduce but if it is due to other reasons for eg harmonal imbalance, it cannot help.

Let me list the pros and cons:

Pros of The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Face Wash

1) Totally cleans up the face.
2) Does not dry up the skin.
3) Cooling sensation after washing the face is so refreshing.
4) I belive this face wash that i have been using alongwith the other products does contribute in clearing blemishes.
5) The quantity is a lot. I have been using it for past 6 months now and it will still last me another two weeks.
6) No slippery feel after using it.
7) Does almost everything that it claims removes excess oil without overdrying the skin. However,Β  I cannot comment on preventing blemishes although i belive it helps in clearing them.

Cons of The Body Shop Tea Tree Skin Clearing Face Wash

Err i cannot think of any con for this face wash except that one cannot expect it to prevent pimples and blemishes.

Rating : I would give this one :-* :-* :-* :-* + 0.5

Will i repurchase it: Absolutely. I have used Seaweed face wash from TBS which was costlier and lesser quantiy but this one is total paisa vasool !

I will recommend it to everyone who has oily or combination skin. I do feel since it doesnt dry the skin dry skin beauties can use it too.

  2. i bought the blackheads scrub from TBS recently but havent found any difference yet :wilt: but only been using it for the past week..am i being unreasonable by expecting results so soon? :-/

      1. not yet Farha..there is a TBS tea Tree scrub thats specifically meant for blackhead removal..but its been abt week to 10 days only since I bought it and I have used it abt 3 or 4 times so not sure if I am expecting miracles so soon. blackheads are really embarassing.

      1. Bt i keep getting horrid dry patches.. :hunterwali: :hunterwali: :hunterwali: Why do you have to use snails ..

            1. hehe Farha πŸ™‚ πŸ˜€ ..but seriously its supposed to be good for scars, stretch marks etc…So Rati doesnt need the snail cream cos she has none of these skin problems…

              1. You are a savior Shanaiia. :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho: :jaiho: Bt I do have stretch marks :(( Still i would never use a snail cream.

                1. My mom got me a very small jar of Elicina to try ..but i never used it on myself…hubbys skin got burnt with sum skin product once and i used elicina with few drops of lavender oil…and the scars healed within few days πŸ™‚
hehe he was like whats this magic cream?/I said dont bother knowing what it is…just apply it πŸ˜› πŸ˜› πŸ˜› πŸ˜› πŸ˜›

Btw me 2 have stretch marks on the hip area πŸ™ πŸ™ πŸ™

              1. Ratiiii…i hav read amazzzzzziiiing review for Bio oil..izz for strecth marks…tryyy karo…me waiting for a US bakra to get it now :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker: :snicker:

                1. Dont get it in India na.. :((

I got stretch marks many years back. I lost around 12 kgs bt since I was quite young then I barely look care of my skin then. That major weight loss left me with dirt stretch marks around my hips area. :(( Now i take extra care to moisturize my skin bt the damage has already been done. :((

                  1. Pregnancy ke time pe..i had read a lott abt strecth marks and the most common thng that seems to work is cocoa butter…i had used TBS ka cocoa body butter and hav very less strcth marks…ek baar stretch marks hote hain to nahi jaate kya???? u try cocoa butter na…

                    1. Totally agree with you on this one, just keeping your kind well moisturized helps reduce stretch marks…but totally not getting them is not possible…with the once flat stomach turning into a round mutka, all that skin pulling…kya hoga bechari skin ka…
But yes, continuous moisturizing has left me with minimal stretch marks… :happydance: :happydance:

                  2. U know this aunt of mine does” maalish “with vaseline petroleum jelly and she has amazing skin..she says it helps make stretch marks almost invisible…but has to be done everyday…here in mumb its so hot n humid, even applying body lotion makes me sweat, now imagine vaseline!!!…but im gonna give it a try…cos i hate the stretch marks….

                    1. Vaseline??? Ohhhh…me want to try..but 😐 😐 I don’t have stretch marks..cos I am obsessed with body butters and massage oils….finally something good happened with my body butter addiction

                    2. errrrr u try wen malaika comessss along…. 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐

                    3. When Malaika comes along!!! 😐 😐 😐 😐 😐 No me try nowwwwwwwwwwww…me want to look good now..and me want to try bath bombs like some some ppl 😐

  3. Totally agree with ur review .. :waytogo: :waytogo: :waytogo: .TBS tea tree face wash is amazing ..i keep buying this one altho like you i keep buying facewashes like “chana watana” :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: πŸ˜›

I normally buy the foaming one but as you mentioned that this one lasts for so long,i’ll get the non-foaming one this time πŸ™‚

      1. Have you tried using Ponds oil control face wash??…Neha S had reviewed it…I bought it and i’m really loving it…and its just for RS60…!!

        1. Nopeesss havent tried it….only 60???? heheh i got himalaya neem face wash on saturdayyy..heheh but i want to try ponds now..which color is it????

            1. ohhhh…my SIl was using it..and she said her dermo had recommended himalay to her..isliye i got it…i had tried ponds ka green one which i didnt like will try this lekin…thnxxxx

        2. yeay omg u remebered and u bought..!! :puchhi: :puchhi: thnks i love dt facewash too shanaiia.. :jiggy1: :jiggy1: :jiggy1:

  4. hey Farha, Nice review, was looking for this one on the net,

I have combination-dry skin, but have loads of pimples, every day I have a new one to deal with and they follow up with blemishes, my current routine is:

I wash my face in the morning with clean and clear, rub ice cube for 4 mins and then apply biotique cucumber water as toner and then follow with neutrogena spf 15 oil-free moist,

In the evening after the 16 hours routine, I use himalaya neem face wash to clean the dirt and grime, rub the pimple/blem with ice cube and then apply any of the face masks recommended and splash some biotique cucumber water….I dont apply any moisturiser in the night as I am scared of pimples…please help me

    1. Rati,

Please respond to my long query, I always wanted to write to you asking for a routine-suggestion for my situation, but somehow did not find time, but this one has TBS Tea Tree, so grabbed my attention….please help.

        1. Rati,

Thanks a ton for the help, I am looking forward to see the suggestions I get and I will implement them tooooooo…I am off from work today and I will spend my entire day here :rose: for you

          1. heyyyy akhila…just wanted to share with u..the biotique toner broke me out…so r u sure it is working for u..i mean it didnt giv u the pimpless na..and one thng that i do wenever i get pimpless is i never ever touch them..and i stop using mutilple p[roducts on my face…that i use normally..in short until the pimple heals..i make sure minium products touch it..it has alwaayyys worked for me…also try visitn a dermo..

            1. Hey Farha,

I did visit a dermo who also happens to be a full time consultant at Kaya. She suggested me to use three prods:

              Suncros spf 26 as sunscreen,
              A glycolic acid peel,
              A depiwhite cream/ointment

Sunscreen was a lill oily but gets absorbed easily but does not moisturise, the glyco peel was very harsh for my skin and the depiwhite was too oilly and has a ridiculous smell, so stopped those creams there….

I do not touch my pimples at all, I am scared of the scars they leave, but as I have get out of the house to work, I apply just the sunscreen and as you said, may be the culprit is cucumber water, will keep it on the back burner for some time….thanks for your response, much appreciate it. :present:

  5. You know I was just thinking to try tea tree stuff a while ago ,though I have dry skin but these pimples just dont want to go only 😐 😐 😐
