Hello, beauties!
Hope all of you are doing great today! I am here to share another new purchase with you all which was a part of my mini haul. I am happy to see a portable and travel-friendly version of such beauty balms even though the concept is not new. Personally, I am not convinced to get it again. So, let’s read more about The Estee Edit by Estee Lauder Pore Vanishing Stick!
The Estee Edit by Estee Lauder Pore Vanishing Stick Review

Product Description:
What it is:
A portable stick that glides onto skin for a fresh, natural, pore-perfect look.

What it is formulated to do:
Pore Vanishing Stick blurs the look of pores, creates an even skintone, and minimizes shine and oil—sans mess or fuss. The dual-action, convenient stick contains a tinted inner core to help assure the formula is universal for all skintones, and is surrounded by an outer ring that shuts down shine with oil-absorbing powders. Use it alone for a naturally flawless look, or apply it either under or over your makeup for a velvety smooth finish.

Price:
$28 for 0.24 Oz, excludes shipping and taxes

My Experience with The Estee Edit by Estee Lauder Pore Vanishing Stick:

outer packaging

The pore vanishing stick comes in a chubby and small retractable, metallic silver bullet packaging with a tight cap. I like its sleek and chubby packaging which makes it easy to handle and good enough for travelling purpose. I am definitely impressed by this travel-friendly and user-friendly stick which gives a mess-free handling and application. But, honestly, other than this, I have nothing to vouch for.

makeup for large pores

I mean, it seems like a boon for uneven skin texture and open pores, but it is a bit disappointing for oily skin if you ask me. I have super oily skin with open pores and uneven skin texture. While I am happy to see almost negligible pores and smooth texture after application, I am disappointed to see shiny skin within 2-3 hours of wear time. Oh yes, I don’t know why it gives such a slippery and greasy feel to my skin.

I simply swipe this balm on my cheeks to get rid of the shine and it definitely absorbs shine like a sponge, but then it makes my blush look patchy too. And, if I use it as a primer, then my foundation won’t set up smoothly. Hence, I am seriously clueless about where to use it. Moreover, if I swipe it over my face makeup to get rid of the extra shine, then my foundation tends to come off in patches, owing to the stick’s slimy core.

makeup stick

Not to forget, my face starts to become slippery and oily than before within an hour. And, I dislike that greasy smooth finish on my face, honestly. The good part is that it doesn’t clog my pores and/or cause any breaks outs on my skin. This is why I am still using it for emergencies. I simply like it for its ease of usage as I need not carry an additional applicator and compact balms for travel or for rush hours. I reach for this stick only during those rush hours when I need a shine free face for say 1-2 hours.

close up of stick

I don’t think this stick has the capacity to take the makeup world by storm. I have used many similar products in the low-end budget range too. Hence, I don’t think I would like to shell out 28 bucks for a just portable balm. You can easily give it a skip, especially if you have oily or combination skin.

Before and After:

Let’s sum up pros and cons:

Pros of The Estee Edit by Estee Lauder Pore Vanishing Stick:

• A portable pore vanishing stick with tinted inner core
• Smoothens the texture of the skin
• Absorbs oil like a sponge
• Pores appear blurred
• Doesn’t accentuate or aggravate acne prone skin
• Doesn’t irritate my skin
• Will suit every skin tone

Cons of The Estee Edit by Estee Lauder Pore Vanishing Stick:

• Skin becomes oily after 1-2 hours
• Tricky as a makeup primer
• Makes skin slippery
• So pricey
• Easily dupable

Well, I totally appreciate the retractable bullet stick form, but sadly I am not impressed with the product inside. I would rather opt for a traditional balm to get that long lasting and oil-free finish.
