Too Faced Bend and Snap Melted Matte Liquefied Matte Long Wear Lipstick Review

Hello everyone,

I have previously reviewed the shades “Lady Balls” and “Feelin Myself” from the Too Faced Melted Matte Liquid lipstick collection. This will be a review on the shade “Bend n Snap.”

Too Faced Bend and Snap Melted Matte Liquefied Matte Long Wear Lipstick Review

Product Description:
Matte color gets a meltover! Our innovative formula glides over lips like a gloss but dries to an ultra-matte opaque finish. Infused with a no-sting lip plumper and filler, Melted Matte ensures color always looks rich, full, and kissable – never dry, shriveled or cracked. Doe-foot applicator comfortably coats lips in bursts of intense, saturated matte color that lasts for hours.

My Experience with Too Faced Bend and Snap Melted Matte Liquefied Matte Long Wear Lipstick:

Packaging:  I do love the packaging with the unique triangular tube with shows the color inside. This does make for easy access of the color you want.

Texture:  My favorite liquid lipstick formula is by Kat Von D. Though I am not impressed with this Too Faced formula that much that it knocks my favorite and takes its place, but it does rank pretty good in my books. The formula and consistency of this liquid lipstick is thinner, more watery than the Kat Von D’s mousse-y formula. The application is easy and precise with the help of the standard doe-foot applicator. The thin formula does feel like second skin and clings on the lips. It feels extremely lightweight on the lips and one might even forget you are wearing anything on the lips at all. The dry down time is quick as well, but not so fast that you cannot work around spreading it evenly on the lips.

Pigmentation:  I love the fact that the pigmentation is fully opaque in one swipe. I didn’t have to layer this shade of liquid lipstick at all which is actually a good thing as more layers can potentially feel more drying.

Shade:  The shade “Bend n Snap” is a stunning true berry purple shade with a hint of fuchsia undertone. Nothing says I am ready for fall season better than a shade like this. I truly adore this shade and feel it will be flattering on all skin tones. This shade did not apply streaky at all.

Feel and look on lips:  This formula didn’t feel too drying but it wasn’t hydrating either. It didn’t seem to suck out moisture from my lips and feel comfortable throughout the wear. It did accentuate the fine lines on my lips slightly, but nothing too bad. This might be a con for those who have a lot of wrinkles or texture on their lips. Since I am very careful about how I prep my lips before using a liquid lipstick with proper exfoliation and lip balm, I didn’t have any issue with this clinging on to any dry patches.

Staying Power:  This liquid lipstick is mostly transfer proof. It doesn’t come off on cups or when you kiss. Staying power is pretty good at 7-8 hours which is basically the whole day for me. It fares well through light snacks and drinks, but after a full meal, particularly an oily meal, it can fade away from the inside of the lips or smear if the oil breaks it down.

At the end of the day, I did need an oil-based remover to take it completely off and it left a light stain behind.
My overall thoughts on this range of liquid lipstick by Too Faced is that the shades are pretty inconsistent. Though I do love the formula and the amazing pigmentation, I found the lighter shades difficult to work with. The lighter shades were prone to cracking and looked very unflattering on the lips. If you were to pick up any shade from this range, I would recommend looking at the deeper spectrum of shades that are offered.  I am quite pleased with this particular shade and this is quite possibly my favorite out of the 3 shades I own from this range. I will definitely recommend this.

Pros of Too Faced Bend and Snap Melted Matte Liquefied Matte Long Wear Lipstick:

  • Super lightweight, sometimes you can forget you are wearing anything.
  • Very thin and clings on the lips like second skin.
  • Super opaque pigmentation, you do not need more than one layer.
  • Goes on smoothly and evenly without bunching up or getting patchy.
  • Does not feel drying but it is not hydrating either.
  • No off-putting scent.

Cons of Too Faced Bend and Snap Melted Matte Liquefied Matte Long Wear Lipstick:

  • Might accentuate texture, dryness and fine lines on the lips if lips are not prepped and exfoliated before application.
