I am absolutely head over heels in love with it. Read on to find out more about this outstanding product!

About the Product:
Born This Way is an oil-free foundation that masterfully diffuses the line between makeup and skin. For coverage so undetectable, you can’t see the makeup and you can’t see imperfections—all that’s left is naturally radiant skin that looks like you were Born This Way.

My Experience with Too Faced Born This Way Undetectable Medium-to-Full Coverage Foundation:

Packaging:
I love how this brand is so creative with their packaging. Just like how Benefit and The Balm are known for their signature cheeky packaging, Too Faced is known for its girly, cute packaging. This foundation comes in a frosted glass bottle. It has a pump (Yay!!). The bottle looks very pretty with the overall gold details at the rim and the cap.

Texture/Consistency:
This foundation is of medium consistency. It is not runny, but it not super thick either.

Bendability:
The thing I love the most about this foundation is that it is so easy to blend. Blending is practically effortless! With a few dabs of my Beauty Blender Sponge, it blends to a beautiful, even, streak free finish.

Finish/Look on skin:
This foundation sets to natural finish. Its finish  is soft matte, satiny without any shine or dewiness but it does not look flat. This foundation makes the skin look healthy, plump and glowing from within.

I absolutely love how this foundation does not accentuate the dryness of skin. It has never cling to dry patches, instead it smooths them out. It does not accentuate pores (but, I do not have an issue of huge pores to begin with). But, for those with problematic pores you might have to use a pore filling primer underneath for best results.

Coverage/Feel on skin:
True to its claim, this is a medium to full coverage foundation. With one layer it gives medium coverage and covers all my skin imperfections which are a little bit of redness, uneven skin tone and few acne marks. With another layer, it is easily buildable to up to a full coverage. Though I usually prefer a lightweight foundation/ tinted moisturizer on a daily basis in the summertime, I find myself not at all bothered by this heavier coverage foundation. It feels so lightweight and becomes one with my skin. I can hardly tell if I am wearing makeup!

Shade:
This foundation has a wide range of shade selection and Too Faced is planning to put more in near future. I got the shade “Light Beige” which is described as light/medium with neutral-to-golden undertones and it is the perfect match for me. For reference, I am a Mac NW23, Medium Beige in Diorskin Star Fluid Foundation, Shade Vallauris in NARS All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation and Shade 5 in Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation.

Staying Power:
This foundation wears beautifully through the day. Since I have dry skin I rarely need to powder my full face to set makeup, but I do powder areas on my face that tend to get oily which are the chin and eye area.

This foundation does get dewy as it’s worn through the, day but not in a way that would make you look like a greasy mess. My face looks a little bit dewy by the 4-5 hour mark which is when I would need to apply a light dusting of power, but it is not crucial. The only reason the dusting of powder is necessary is because without that the foundation starts to fade from the oily areas at around 6-7 hour mark. The powder increases the staying power.

I do feel this foundation will not be loved by oily skinned beauties as much as the dry skinned girls. For oily skin, you may have to do quite a few touch-ups during the day to keep shine at bay. I love that this foundation is oil free and has ingredients like coconut water and hyaluronic acid which is a boon for dry skin like mine.

Fragrance:
This foundation does not have any heavy bothersome fragrance.

Overall, needless to say, I am in love with this foundation and also I think the price tag is decent for this high-end product. This is one of those foundations that do not surpass the $50 mark like Dior and Giorgio Armani. One point of concern is that this foundation lacks SPF, so be sure to use one. I highly recommend this.

  1. I totally agree with you on the packaging part. All of their products look so gorgeous, who would not want to go for them. I can see how effortlessly it blends. Amazing product, we should ignore these cons as I have a bit dry skin and it’s always a struggle to find the right foundation.

  2. I have been on a makeup abstinence spree but you have broken my resolve *cries* I have been looking for something like this for some time now – full coverage but undetectable. The price range also seems affordable given how beautiful it looks when blended.
