My Experience with Trader Joe’s Vitamin E Oil:

Packaging: Trader Joe’s Vitamin E Oil comes in a round transparent bottle which has a push-top cap. The cap has a small opening and oil comes out in drops unless the bottle is squeezed. If more quantity is required, the cap can be unscrewed. The cap closes nicely and I have not noticed any leakage from the bottle, but still, since it is an oil, I am a bit apprehensive about traveling with it. But I am sure when time comes, I am going to find some or the other way of taking it along with me, maybe some cling wrap and zip lock bags will help. 😉

Consistency: The oil is transparent and is light golden in color. The consistency is not very thin and is pretty much oil like. 😛 It goes on smoothly and does not leave any oily, greasy layer or film on the skin. The oil is fragrance free and there is no noticeable fragrance in it. So, it is great for people who are allergic to fragrance or do not like fragrance in their skin care.

Performance: This has been my go-to skin care product in recent days and this is one product which can be used from head to toe…literally.

If you see the ingredient list, soybean oil is the first ingredient which means it makes most of the product. I brought this product first and then did some research about it. I know it should have been other way around. 😛 Soybean oil is really good for skin, it can improve skin health and is a good source of antioxidants and linoleic acid, which is a type of omega-6 fatty acid. It is free of cholesterol and is high in mono unsaturated fat and polyunsaturated fat. It also contains vitamins such as B vitamins, Vitamin E and Vitamin K. Pretty powerful ingredient, isn’t it!!!

Vitamin E works on our skin in many ways, it repairs skin, soothes inflammation, heals scars and hydrates skin and Trader Joe’s Vitamin E Oil works on my skin in all these ways. I have been using it from almost 3 weeks now as my night-time moisturizer and my skin is in much better shape than what it was when I started using it. I just take a couple of drops and smooth onto my face and neck. On days when my skin needs some more hydration, I apply a little bit of my Pond’s Clarant B3 Dark Spot Correcting Cream on it. My skin is a lot smoother and moisturized. I have noticed that my makeup goes over smoothly now. My dark spots are fading and I could see a change in my acne scars as well. The fresh scars have become light, but I guess the old ones would take some more time to go.

Though I have dry skin, I was afraid of using oils on my face, but then finally thought of giving it a try and I am glad I did. It did not break me out. Also, I had some tan on my face, after my Miami trip and this product has brought back my original color.

I also have been using it as my under eye cream and sometimes smoothen a little bit over my lids as well; my delicate under eye skin is very hydrated and plump now.

I mix it with Jojoba oil from the same brand and use the same to massage my hair and I am able to notice a difference in my hair fall situation.

I have used it to remove my makeup and it performs up to the mark there as well. Some times, I mix a couple of drops in my body lotion too for extra nourishment.
