Ulta Hazy Pink Matte Lip Crayon Review

A couple of months ago, I did a review of same product in the shade Raspberry Rose. I had bought both of them together. However, it took me a while to review this shade mostly because it’s my least favorite, since I am not a fan of light buff shades.

I came across these matte lip crayons on one of my trips to Ulta, during holiday season and because of that, I got this for just a buck. Below is my experience with it.

My Experience with Ulta Hazy Pink Matte Lip Crayon:

I like lip crayons and stains because they are very pigmented and high on moisture. This one, however, has mediocre performance in both the aspects, but beware I pass this harsh judgment based on my skin tone and type.

Light shades don’t fare well with my dusky skin tone. I appear washed out and dull with pale nude shades and also it’s not this product’s fault that my lips and area around it are pigmented and not every color blends well with my face. This color, in particular, stands out in contrast to my face and give an unpleasant appearance.

Texture of the product is creamy, but not enough to be used directly on lips, one needs to apply a hydrating lip balm before applying this product. A sweep of this gives a nice pink hue, enough to cover up non-pigmented lips with a rosy shade. But, others with pigmentation might have to work a little more to get flawless even tone lips.

This lip crayon gives a matte finish which is good for some of us, especially me (I love matte lip colors), but people who are not too fond of matte finish can always use lip gloss to get the high shine look. The staying power is nothing to brag about. The product stays put for few hours as long as one does not eat or put their lips to any kind of extra work.

This shade is very pretty and low key for fair skinned beauties and they can totally flaunt this shade for a day out or office look, but I would urge dusky skin tone ladies to refrain from such shades because more often than less, they make our face stand out in a derogatory rather than an appealing manner.
