Today, I shall be reviewing ULTA minerals powder foundation. I was MIA for sometime as I was occupied on the personal front. Anyways, nothing can keep me away for long as writing here has become a habit now Moving on to the product, I got the same few months back from a friend returning back from the U.S. Read on further to find how it fared on my skin.
Product being reviewed:
ULTA minerals Powder Foundation 03 Fair
This powder foundation is made with pure, crushed minerals and soothing extracts of chamomile and ginseng.
It comes in a round plastic container with a screw cap. The lid has a transparent top . Also there is a sifter beneath. Most of the mineral powder foundations have a problem with the packaging as it is bit difficult or rather messy to deal with the loose powder and this one is no exception. The shade 03 matches my skin tome perfectly and gives me sheer to medium coverage, do not expect it to hide the flaws flawlessly as it is good for the finishing touch with foundation underneath. The product alone will not be able to hide the imperfections.
I have oily acne-prone sensitive skin and this foundation did not break me out nor did it aggravate the existing acne. My face felt oil free for a good 5 hours or so but it was a bit drying. I would not attribute the drying factor solely to the powder as winters have arrived and we all experience somewhat dry skin during winters. Nevertheless, I shall not recommend the product to dry skinned beauties. Also the powder is a bit difficult to blend, you need to have a good kabuki brush. It also gets cake-y if more layers are applied. The texture isn’t as smooth as the Bare Escentuals Minerals foundation which I reviewed here few months back nonetheless it does not feel scratchy on the skin. It does not feel heavy on the skin as well.
All in all, it is good as the last touch in the make up. I would not recommend it be used alone.
